Hello, i dont find background jungle image.

where can I find?

Dicko2011
you can find the background on Google Images, search for "jungle". Looks like Andrew has extended the image in photoshop to make it wider/taller and cloned some plants around the image.

I'm using CS6, and I'm having a problem with particle world here, as I've had with a couple other projects. When I try to key frame the birth rate for the particles and slide those frames back to the start I get very glitchy and unpredictable results. Has anyone else had this problem? Otherwise great tutorial as always.

I enjoyed this tutorial not because it had a huge WOW factor to it but because you taught the basics - you reemphasized the fact that just using the stand alone tools already provided in AE, you can create some pretty awesome motion graphics. It just goes to show that you don't need all the expensive 3d plugins, fancy tools and a wealth of knowledge to use them. Thanks for always making things simple! In a world of complexity, just using ones own imagination, creativity and basic tools in AE, one can make a huge impact in any project - It's not so much how you Wow the person or client that they take away but the story or message behind it! Thanks for always going BACK TO THE BASICS!

Awesome tutorial! If I may ask, what kind of hardware setup are you using? I'm going to be upgrading some components and would like to be able to gracefully handle multi-element projects such as this, as well as some Maya modeling which I will integrate into AE. So far, I've decided on an i7 with 8-16GB of RAM. Any recommendations?
Mike with ESC Services
Hey I thought I would just mention this if you plan yo upgrade your hardware I highly recommend the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 360M graphic Processor top of the line for design graphics in 2d and 3d also the best at rendering them and playing video games. Also the intel just released there i7 3rd Generation Processor which has graphic processing on the processing unit itself so make sure you get a 3rd gen i7 not the 2nd gen i7 and any amount of ram that is 6gb or higher is fine just make sure your board can handle it and your cpu socket can support an i7. Also I would recommend at least 1gb of Video ram for graphics designing. Hope this helps. I am also curious what he uses for graphics.

if it doesn't bother you,
a small off topic question: what program do you use recording this high quality videos ?

Gidday Andrew...

First off, thank you SO MUCH for the amazing work you do here, for free, to help us n00bs get to grips with the sheer power at our fingertips. You make amazing results look so easy...

BUT, I have to ask. After flicking through a pile of your tutorials, and the downloaded project files, I see that in some you have included the .aep file, but in the one that REALLY caught my eye - Jungle - you didn't! And in fact it seems to be that you haven't for a while now.

PLEASE tell me that there is some way to still get the .aep file for this Jungle tut! I am one of those learners who does best with a full reference to work with, and the ability to flick back to your file to see what I may have missed, done wrong, or just plain botched up, would be invaluable.

In hopeful anticipation of some good news...

This is a great tutorial and an excellent lesson on lighting

I kept thinking to myself that you were going to animate a "page turn" effect to one of the foreground leaves just as the camera passes it, to add the effect of the camera passing it. You know, as if the camera touched it. At least, that's what I would have used for something like that.
Thommy
welcome to the jungle makes perfect sense andrew! Love this! I used this strategy to create movie posters and stuff but putting plants in 3D space etc. could you do a tutorial on exploding a house behind a person walking away from it like a badass? I'm curious how you would animate the house exploding and the windows breaking and stuff.

Thanks!

I'm happy you're back with another tutorial. But I think this one is so much for beginers... and I thought you were to make the titles lighting with the new Ray-Traced rendering from CS6 to make it more realistic, as well as the BG converting the layer into an enviroment layer.
I hope next tutorial about Sam and the train could be as exciting as we are used to watch.
Anyway, thank you for everything you do, we love you.

I have to admit it, I share the same opinion. I'm currently redoing this tutorial in CS6 with curved background and Ray-traced rendering with a "real" 3-d title.

You know, Andrew is probably a victim of his success and cannot be everywhere at the same time. Good luck to him !

I know Adrew makes tutorials thinking about everybody, so this ones are necesary for the business, to catch new people. But I also don't know where are all the turorials from "Demon Cam" or the plugin "Element 3D" that blew up our minds. He promised many things these last months that are not available.
Hope they come soon.

Hey Andrew, I think a good useful tool with AE CS6 is the new extrusion tool that u can add to text layers, and includes a bevel, which makes it so much easier. I think this would be good to the parallax effect and boost up the depth in the camera move. It was awesome meeting you at DMALA. I was the only 12 year old there. Hope you remember me U are my idol!

Hey Andrew, a cool thing with After Effects CS6 is you can extrude 3d text and I think that will really boost the parallax to the camera and show some depth. Great Tutorial. It was awesome meeting you at DMALA. I was like the only 12 year old there. Hope you remember me

Hey Andrew, great tutorial! I think that you could have added a fake DOF look to really sell foreground and background elements, but overall very good quality, thanks!

Excellent tutorial... My only complaint is that Kramer just wasn't as jolly as he normally is. This may sound funny but I kind of look forward to his little jokes here and there. Still good video though. thanks.

I know what you mean about looking forward to his jokes... He might have run out after 120 or so tutorials, all of which... I have... not... watched. I... am not... addicted. Must Click post and watch more tutorials! Andrew is the awesomest. That is all.

Well, why not just use particular to do this effect. use shadowlet and shading system to achieve realistic composite..
James

Because not everyone has trapcode particular as it doesn't come with AE as a default plugin. Isn't he awesome?

Great tutorial!
I think creating fog with trapcode particular would make it look even more realistic.

Or instead of the title you should place sam loya in the jungle and make him invisble with a sound effect that says: cloak engaged, that would sure add realism.

Well, I must be honest and say I didn't like that tutorial at all. While Andrew's techniques are always helpful, and he's always great to listen to, I just don't think that tutorial gave us anything new, and the end result wasn't really that great.

Just being honest, I'd still marry Mr Kramer in a shot.

Really Gabe...you must be the biggest thankless moron in the world, that desperately needs a "human decency filter". What ever happened to keeping your opinion to yourself? You don't have to post a comment if you don't like it, right? Your parents really need a big slap across the head for raising yet another village idiot.
Well, I'm just being honest.

Not having a go at you here Gabe but just remember you started at the beginning at some point too dude... Don't you think it's nice that despite the fact that a lot of us are advanced compositors/motion gfx designers/vfx artists, he is still doing the odd basic tutorials for the new guys and girls? Respect Andrew, keep it up Big Dog. Peace.

Very cool as usual Mr Kramer.

The biggest compliment I can give is I thought it was a motion tracking tutorial when I saw the original shot. Little did I know that entire bad boy was created in Photoshop and After Effects.

As I always say, and you already know...You Da Man \^^/
