When duplicating objects in Element, is there a way to unlink the objects so I would be able to swap the screen image or video on one without a global change to all the copies?

Help!

Element suddenly crashes permanently on my Mac. (OXS 10.14.2)
Don't know if it's because I run After Effects CC 2019 now, but it worked fine all those years. Any suggestions anyone? Many thanks in advance!

Very nice tutorial. I like when you touch on the more advanced features of E3D or lighting adjustments in your videos. I am enjoying E3D very much. Thanks for all your hard work sir.

I have just something if I let it on the diffuse channel, but I dont have the same ilumination, envrioment in the end. there's no realistic result to me

I just purchased Element 3D just so I can use the techniques in this tutorial. However, my question is, how do I swap the screen? I want to simulate the a user touch an icon and launch an app; therefore, I want to change/animate the diffuse screen.

By the way, awesome tutorials. Always loved them. Keep it up!

one problem I'm having, after applying the video to the illumination layer the video looks faded out. I've played around with the illumination setting, changing intensity to 100% which is an improvement but by no mean a solution. Anyone else getting the same problem.

Hello! I am having a problem with texturing. I also baked textures in 3D max in PNG format. Then tried to drag her out of the saving location right in the 3D Element as in lesson with IPhon5. But I have the texture does not lay in 3D max. She just wrapped yourself as a wrapper around the object together with the dark intervals between the parts of the texture. Can't no one to achieve the correct baking textures for use in 3D Element. Could You devote to this lesson and to help many who still do not know how to do it? Lesson baking in 3D max for further use in 3D Element. Thanks in advance!

Is this compatible with After Effects CS4 on a Mac? I can work on the project fine, but whenever I try to render the iPhone, i get this message "Out of Memory 40-23"

Any Idea how I can get around this? I have 12GB of Ram on my computer so that's why this confuses me, as to why its a memory issue.

Hey Andrew, thanks so much for all the amazing tools!

I do have a quick question, or if anyone else knows...I'm not familiar with making 3d objects...how would I make a new custom material for say, the beverage can. Maybe I want to make a custom drink label or something...how would I do that?
George
I'm interested in this as well...
Claudiu
Hi, you would need a texture map of the label (would basically be a label with the color of the metal around it)
and using that (in element) on a beverage can model (or a basic cylinder for test) you would map the texture around the cylinder and add reflection and specular highlights to make it look metal. Hope this helps.

Hello Andrew!
Great video! I was wondering, taking your example of mapping the iPhone screen onto the phone, if i wanted to do the same without element, for instance make footage of an actual photograph show the moving film reel, how would i go about doing it?
Thanks!
Claudiu
Do you mean like make a comp that has like a Polaroid picture in it and on that picture there's actually a movie?
Well you would take your "picture movie" and make a pre-comp of that and if your "polaroid main comp" is a 2D comp than just use a corner pin effect and place the corners to match the polaroid corners. If you have a moving camera you would need to track the footage and match the 4 tracked corners of the polaroid to the 4 corners of the "picture movie" comp (slightly trickier). Hope this helps.

how can i use he diffuse and specular.i putt the diffuse picture in the diffuse section and the specular in the specukar section.but then it only shows the diffuse not specular,i tried to fix this about an half hour but it didn't work.please help, andrew kramer or anyone pleaaase.!
Claudiu
Just loading the texture maps in element will not show the end result you see in the tutorial, you would need to tweek the reflection/specular parameter values to match the actual IPhone 5. An easier thing you could do is to load the .e3d file instead of the .obj which would set the parameters for you. If you do this and don't see the textures assigned than you haven't placed them in the My Models folder and you should just click the defuse and spec texture channel and reload them. Hope this helps.
