Actually, I'm wondering if there's a way to create a blinking effect? I have a monster in my film and it needs to have big black eyes, the eyes are easy to make. But it's so unbelievable without the blinking. Any advice?

Thx for teaching me, your tutorials are not only extremely professional but also very easy to follow and man, you are the man! (repetitive ahah) I can't find words to say how much i'd like to thank you. I was about to pay for a training in ae (which by the way I still find a solution for that) but this series gave me the basics I was looking for and lots of extras. Gotta love video copilot. Hey Andrew, I don't know if you'll ever get to reading this, but ever since I have been watching your tutorials I have been expecting that you would make a tutorial based from one of the most influential visual effects movies of all time. That being The Matrix. I mean if you did anything at all from that movie it would be amazing. But I think what I would like to see done most of all is the famous slow motion bullet dodging scene when Neo is being shot at by an agent and dodges all the bullets except one. I guess its the cool camera angles that make that shot so original. Or you could do a tutorial on the scene where Neo's mouth is melded shut by one of the agents after Neo flips off agent Smith. Or you could even do a tutorial on how to make someone fuse into the body of someone else like agents do. You could even do the cool wall rippling effect that appeared in the helicopter crash scene. So thanks for reading, I can't express how refreshing it is to see someone post free online AE tutorials that are actually practical.

It's a little bit more work than the previous tut on the eye. But you have so much more control over the actual eye. I love the 3d part 'freaky eye'

Beside that creative technique, i wonder about your hardware specification that can capture your tutorial smoothy. May I know about it? Because with GeForce 7950 GT and AMD X2 4000+ with 4 GB DDR2, i cant render as fast as you did.

Holy layers Batman! Well I guess it's good fundamentals, but I think there are a few ways you could have condensed things down a bit to use fewer layers... doesn't it affect render time??!?!

Does anyone have any advice on making the eye a little more "glazed"? Mine doesn't look bad but its very flat looking and I think that if it had a glaze like the other eye it would be very believable.
BTW, AK! While doing this project I accidentally figured out how to make the "Eye of Sauron" and I've been dying to do it. So I put the 3D eye on hold and made the Eye of Sauron which came AWESOME. For the Fire I was rotating Fractal Noise and Starglow. You should give it a shot. So many people on line don't know hoe to make convincing fire but this method is awesome! Thanks!

Really great! One thing I wonder about is if you just show the CC Spheres inside would it be like a empty eye socket? I have not tested it but when I watched it I just thaugt that it was possible

Great tutorials Andrew, just great.. breathtaking so on and so forth (not kiddin).. But unfortunately i dont get to enjoy them as much as i would have hoped since i have to edit LQ videos Well... this was kind of an intro to my question. You see i have a Sony DCR SR-42 camera (i know this is by far not the best camera out there but is in my price range).. Anywho... It is recording videos in *.mpg format (i dont know if there is a way to change it) and AE CS3 does not import the kind of files it is recording (at least that i know of). And when i convert video using several different softs i end up losing quality (in noticable amount) So please if you can help me out. Either tell me if there is a way to import mpg file format to AE, or how can i convert video format without losing quality or in worst case scenario tell me if it is not possible at all. So that i dont waste my time and nerves and just go shoot myself.. Sry again for littering your blog, just was really desperate ;( Thanks in advance and thanks again for great tutorials

However it seems I have an issue when downloading the project files, the footages are not inside the folder. Anybody else has this problem?
