Yet another great tutorial. So I gotta say I mixed three tutorials on here. The footage came out awesome. I did the underground explosion, I had my arm blow off, that was the lighting strike tutorial, and this one by making my arm grow back with a practical stage blood dripping off my hand at the end. I would have posted it but didn't see where to do it. Thanks for helping me understand AAE. Can you do a tutorial on object melting? Sort of like metal or something cool like that. Like Terminator 2. Thanks again. By the way, if I upgrade

when i get to the step with the glass effect it doesnt highlight the cut precomp its on a different part of the footage idk wats goin on and iv followed every step

This is really cool, I've only just started playing with motion tracking and it seems really exciting. If you find the time, I'd be interested to know if there was any way of converting the tracking information into 3D space, I'm trying to work it out and it seems pretty tough!

I can't find the CC Glass effect... I typed glass in the 'effects and presets' just like he did in the tut... then i even manually looked through the effects drop-down menu... nada.

Hello there,
I loved the HEALING EFFECT on A.E. Really great.
I tried it out but I get two problems.
First, the wound keeps moving and rotating too much in relation to the footage, and I can´t figure out why. Maybe because of the tracking.
Secondly, when the movie is finished, there is a huge green "X" across the screen. Maybe you guys could help me out?!

Awesome job! I am only 15 and a Sophomore in Highschool but I kind of got the hang of this. I love doing things like this and have had After Effects for about a week. I have the 30 day trial of After Effects. I don't have $999 to spend on it. I've watched all of your Basic Training and a lot of your other Tutorials. I have to use my own photos and such because I am not able to buy the FX you use and whatnot. Great tutorials! Keep it up!

Andrew k., i hv a quick question, for this project, if the person is looking down and then looks up (like the tutorials w/ the eye-ball) ... is it posible for the scar to be stuck to the face as the person looks up, even if at the begining of the clip you cannot see the cheek(where the scar is) but as he/she looks up it appears little by little, as if it was real... idk if u get wht im trying to xplain,but thx for your answer !!!!!! i really apreciate it if u give me a hand !!!!!!!!

This tutorial is realy innovative and it looks good. But I once fell on my face, pretty bad, and I made a picture of my face healing every day untill it was totaly healed. I posted, a very crappy and made with a free and unregistered program, an animation of that on the internet so that you can see the behaviour of real healing skin. And btw don't be shoked cause I'm ugly as shit

WTF!!!! Nice work with the terminator. I also want to say your stuff is professional. You might already know this but your product of real clouds and some of your effects are used on the freedom of the seas (biggest ship of the world) so people who say your editing is not professionel then I only have 1 message for them. Try to do it better then Andrew!!! Can't wait to see the next tutorial.

The coolest thing about all of these tutorials is how you A.K and your crew can bring people from all over the world and just help them do what they love to do! And we can all also help eachother out if anyone have any questions.. So by that said; If everyone would work in AE and learn from A.K there would be no war! Great tutorial man! What would have been a great add-on for this one was to have light rays (VERY, VERY SUBTLE - not a McDonald's commercial kind of thing but something simple) when the wound heals. If not the light rays then a really strong glow around the edges.

Hey Andrew, great tutorial. I had an idea for all of you out there, I might try this if I have time. Why not use the skin displacement, then REVERSE the healing process to make it look as if you were being attacked by flesh-eating parasites or something. Just something to think about.

I just did the tutorial, but mine came out with a few glitches: The motion tracking seems to be slightly off. 1) So I am thinking that I re-track the footage (do I have to delete the old data or will it just overwrite it?) 2)While I can get the scars in the right position on the final comp. the footage seems to be in a different position in the subsequent smaller comps 3) I couldn't get the retiming quite right.
Any suggestions before i try again from scratch.

Is it possible for you to make some more tutorials on advance camera movements like camera rotation 360'on y axis.
or may be setting some big stage event and where only talent is shooted on green and everything else created in AE.

Awesome! I love the playful example at the end, great stuff. I think it might help for that though if you had some sort of flesh-looking texture between the ski layer and the robot image, since it looked like the skin was sort of floating over the robot face but not quite on top of it, I'm not sure, it didn't look quite natural (but who am I kidding, you said it yourself "it's not natural", and I thought grotesque looking gnarly flesh would solve the problem . Sweet new tutorial though, that's awesome!

Brilliant, and great tip on modifying footage prior to motion tracking. I actually tried this in a class last Saturday and couldn't figure out why it didn't help. Now I know to precompose!

Footage included in project file is corrupted. However I am very impressed with the quality of these tutorials, especially as they are all done for free. This one and the Demon are my two favourites so far. Kramer you are a genius. Then you have got a genius name...

I was dissapointed when I saw what this tutorial was about. At first glance the method seemed simple and obvious but after watching it I was again in awe of how you add the extra touches that make it interesting and the surprise ending that wasn't given away in the description really brought it together and showed the less obvious use for those that are more creative.

I've watched it now, and I hounestly mustsay that I'm a tiny bit dissapointed.. The method was so simple! But I can't sat that I DIDNT learn anything, so I'm pleased
