I would like to mention (to people looking for damaged stock footage etc) that I understand some people will look at pics and think, "Damn! The perspective isn't right, I wish I could use it but it just wouldn't work"... Well... Andrew (I hope you're reading this you mother lover) made a tutorial called 3D City (linked below) which explores the process of taking an image and manipulating it with corner pins to 'build' a flat texture.
The reason I hope you're reading this Andrew, is, I've noticed a lot of your tuts have great potential to expand on via a quick description of related tutorials which could/would be valuable resources used in conjunction with the 'current' tutorial. Not only expanding the communities knowledge, but also generating more hits per visit on your site...

I just register because I thought it would be fair to let you know, Andrew, that thanks to your tutorial I have finally dared to plunge in this complex world that After Effect offers. I am a music composer who now doesn't compose music anymore but spend all his time reproducing the crazy creations you teach us here on your website. I wish I had a creative imagination to use plugins like you guys know how to do, but I guess it will come only with time and practise and experimentation. For now I am merely trying to learn buy reproducing and trust me, I have much FUN doing so!

Hello andrew , can u make a tutorial explains how to color correct in diffrent cases , and hows the RGB , BLUE , GREEN , RED channel works ?

so awesome!!! but still it's seems that after effects doesn't have the tools to make it look as realistic as it would in nuke or fusion

Very nice, but is it possible to show us how to create a clean-plate for the streets " to get rid of the cars", maybe a simple hints on how to go about that in this tutorial. thank you for every thing and looking forward for the tutorial.

If you watch it in HD you can see the difference in quality between the plate and the added objects Should have put a little blur or something on it XD

I personally think that the VCP team have a brilliant and professional marketing strategy. THIS is the moment to shine! The moment when the teaser is replayed at the beginning of the tutorial, and the swear words aren't bleeped out... GO ON MY SON, BACK OF THE NET!

Is this done with any third party plug-ins? It says "All Destruction FX done with After Effects," but sometimes that includes things like Element.

Hey Andrew, you are amazing, with all these Free, high quality, cinamatic tutorial. They are even better than most of the paid-for tutorials out there on the net. I was looking for something like this for a long time, since Allan Mckay did something similar but with much more expensive tools and tutorial.

i think the plate used is an original footage...good to see that no artificial buildings were created
Hi Andrew, I hope it will be very exciting tutorial, also I want to ask another thing which is I think would be nice for us. In this video the voice is so clear and good for trailers, maybe you can make some kind of tutorial in which we can learn how to create so nice hearing voice what software need to use and what kind of mic it is ?

I don't think AK is using Metropolitan (bummer) only because it's mention in the blurb that only Jet Strike is used.

So in an earlier video be mentioned a metropolitan v2. These buildings look high quality and then there are those roads. I think this will be with the metropolitan 2?

It seems you use 3d camera tracking technique.I wonder if it is the build-in one in cc or the plug-in from the Foundry.

Andrew, I have been a faithful watcher of all of your tutorials. All the way back from the first tutorial in 2007. One thing I have always liked about your tutorials is that there was no foul language. I have children that are interested in learning After Effects and I have always watched your tutorials with them and we would learn together. I was shocked that you posted this tutorial trailer. I know you have kids as well and I know that you would not allow them tho listen to this kind of talk. Why now?
