Hi Andrew,
I get stuck at 4:25 into the tutorial.
-In the graph editor, you're able to pull the bezier handle down - but I cannot - my bezier handle will only extend or retract to the right and left. This keeps me from creating the same curve you make.
How are you able to pull the bezier handle down?
I've watched 2 other tutorials on the graph editor and they're able to pull the handles up or down also - but for some reason I cannot.

Hey, just wondering how to convert this to 1080p easily. I've tried changing all the precomps to the same resolution but something is leaving a smaller rectangle, almost like a constriction for some layers.

I made some experiment on Adv.Light.FX. However I couldn't achive a stable end-frame on the spooky spider thing, here are some settings and results.
They are causes different FX depengin on each other.
Core Drain [0%] - High Density of lines, [100%] - Low Density,
Turbulence [1] - Almost straight lines (Road map like), [2-10] - Messy Lines (City map like),
Decay [3] - Shows just the origin point and nearest light, [0,01] - Shows the whole lightning to the end point,
Complexity [1] - From point to point lines, [5] - From point to every direction, large radius, [10] - From point to every direction, very small radius,
Min.Fork.Distance (Inverted by Core Drain) [8] - High density lines, [100-700] - Still high density, [800] - Lower density lines,
Forking [0%-49%] - One line or few ( Road map like ), [50%-100%] - From one line to high density lines ( City map like ),
Core Radius [0] - Low opacity, [1] - Normal, [2-3+] - Brighter Lines,
and in the end I achived a Square-like result with these settings:
Conduct.3.,C.Radius.4.,Complex.3.,Turb.3.,Min.Fork.Dist.800.
Still have the "jumping issue", where the animated lighting switches it's position back-and-forth, like real lightning (looks like a re-draw effect) - but I want to avoid it in this case.

Hi, Just what i was looking for but when I copy the Advanced Lightning and paste it to the Grid layer (Alpha Obstacle part of the video) I cannot move around the text it remains fixed to it, same with the duplicates of it. I have tried to find a way around this but no luck! Could you enlighten me please?

Pretty cool stuff you share, and even that Im just learing all kind of stuff, still get some fun out of these tuts, so keep'em coming and perhaps a bit slower (or maybe dont cut that much) so beginners wont lose their minds when thinking "what da heck did I miss cos my vid aint even near as cool as.."... you know!

When I move my camera around, all the instances jump around and are not static like in your end title scene. What is the cause of this and how do I resolve it so that it stays still to achieve that nice camera pull out to end on the title? You had mentioned that the alpha effects the lightning. So how do I deal with that?

I have done the GRID Tutorial at least a dozen times. But your preview of the tutorial has camera work and also many layers zooming thru like flying thru various depths of field. Also some mirroring of layers. Can you post the orig template file or do a quick walk thru on how you did it? The finishing is a big part, would love to watch and learn how it was done.

For some reason when I get to the part where you duplicate the layers over and over to make each pattern different, the offset never goes smoothly for me. The patter is not there, and then it just pops in instead of smoothly growing in. Any suggestions?

Thanks for you work, Andrew, from you I learned alot about AE... And still, there are some thing that I think even professionals can't fix, bugs/glitches, like my Adv.Lightning?
When I animate Decay, some random wild forks start to pop and disappear, flickering. I tried a new comp, I was really carefuly with what I modify, and still, it behaves like that. Even if in official documentation it said to be a non-Auto-Animating effect. Using CS6, any ideeas?

My question is : How did you manage to create different scene ? Did you render 3 after effects videos and use another software to create the final one (like Adobe Premiere) ?

Great tutorial as always, AK. The depth of field effect with the camera really sells the overall look of the project. I've always wondered, though, would it be possible to add some shadow effects to a similar (but brighter lit) project?
