Industrial Logo with Element 3D!

Here is another funproject I created using Motion Design 2 componentsand an extruded logo!

Mini Breakdown:

I started by taking some of those handy Motion Design 2 components and set them up with the Symmetry mode in E3D
This way I could create both sides of the design at once!
Using a copy of our logo star, I extruded the masks shapes
I used 2 Parallel lights with ray-traced Shadows.
I also used Ray-Traced Ambient Occlusion with a range of about 25 so it was only visible in creases.
Added some glow and color correction
The scene took longer to render than usual but still only a few seconds per frame at 2K!

I know this is going to sound stupid but anyone know what material he is using. Whenever i try to do something with white it comes out looking super unrealistic, any advice???

Don't use the light whites. go for white white a bit of gray.

Hi, pleas help me here, i am trying to animate a robot, but each part of a leg into different layers, put them into aux channels. Since i had split legs into parts via, blender the robot is part, no father child connection, so when i rotate in aux channels each part is just rotating independent from the rest of leg parts so gabs is in between the parts! what can i do!?

I did something like this once- I think i did the following: Move the anchor point for each piece inside of the scene set up window to be where you want the joints to move. Put each piece in it's own group. Then generate nulls for each group and link the nulls to each other in IK chain. Hand to Forearm, Forearm to Upper Arm Upper Arm to Torso etc.

Awesome logo renders! A couple things that still are really is holding my renders back is the AO and glow. I've tried close to everything to try and make them look better but, raytraced or not, the AO looks soft and not accurate and the glows look cartoonish and not sharp like the ones I keep seeing in your renders. Any tips on how to get these two aspects looking better? I also tried setting up a similar scene to the one here, but I can't figure out the light placement or intensity. Hoping to shed some light on these issues. Thanks! Always excited to see new posts on the site!

In the upcoming Elevator tutorial, I go into a few more details on my setup. I usually do my Glows as a separate effect and not inside Element. Also For AO, turn the adaptive smoothing down and increase the samples. It's slower but more crisp! I show a little bit of this in the rooftop tutorial.

Absolutely incredible. For some reason this reminds me of the film 'Gravity'. Like when that astroid storm hits and shred the space station and everything is spinning. Cool story I know, but thought I'd share. lol

I think he's working on it bit by bit. There were so many unexpected visual effects needed that it added up to years of work for one person. My theory is that as he comes across each new hurdle he is experimenting to find a solution. Then gets inspired to make something on the side, and then he shares it with us. I think this movie is going to be a gold mine of learning for all involved!

Andrew, what do you do to make this things look so real? Is it some kind of chromatic aberration? My projects look like they are CGI and I cannot get that realistic look you get in this pictures. You should make a tutorial on that, please
