The Future

I'm finishing up some work on my 3D ledge presentation and more ideas came to mind (after watching The 5th Element) and I wanted to include some tips for possibly creating a futuristic scene as well. We're going to have a busy couple of weeks ahead including the Shatter tutorial coming out on Monday and this 3D Ledge soon after. Stay tuned and have your multi-pass ready!

I think I'm missing something. 32 seconds in to your presentation, "BBQ" flashes over the grill. I watched it 5 more times to see if I missed other words somewhere else in the video that would make it make sense. Nothing. Why the need to point out that there was a grill in the corner?

Hey Andrew,

Two questions. Did I see a 7D mounted on your jib? Second, what lens did you use and how did you make your dolly/jib? Was it homemade or did you buy the rig? Just created my own dolly out of rollerblade wheels, PVC pipe and some plywood and was curious!

Thanks,

Jon

Very cool stuff.

I don't know whether or not you're a superman fan.

Nevertheless, here's a little ten second animation I came up with yesterday.

I thought I'd share it with you since you got me on AE and and stuff.

I'm a little curious as to why you chose to use 3d cars on the street below. For me, the shot just doesn't sell without them.

The distance between the subject and the cars is far enough away that even a fixed camera position (to record the cars) would be sufficient.

Anyway, looks great either way. But as always, there is room for improvement.

I have beeen wondering why it's been taking you so long to post the ledge tutorial. I even posted a "Moan" on the last blog about what's taking you so long which never got posted. But now, when you explain why "OMG" That looks so !BRILLIANT! and now i cant wait even longer. It's killing me now lol, i cant beleive i'm going to be able to create this on my pc through your brilliant tutorials. Thank You "SO MUCH" Andrew. You are a MASSIVE insperation to me as much as a Film Star. Thanks from the UK.

Awesome! I cannot wait for either of those tutorials!

By the way, not to be an annoying jerk, but you had a little typo in your blog "...have a busy couple of week ahead..." I'm pretty sure you meant "weeks."

But anyway, keep up the good work!!!

@Oras, it really doesnt matter, green or blue, andrew decided to go for a more cold shot here so a bright green is much better to use.
