I actually don't get it. In the trailer of Element 3D you get to see this plane flying in the air. It's the exact same footage, but in this tutorial he showed us that he actually rendered it out in 3Ds Max. So my big question is; Can you do the same effect on both (program and plug-in)?
I made my version of this Andrew's great Airline animation. It's based also another same kind of tutorial.

I think this kramerican airline never took off from the airport and the plane never crashed since the tutorial is taking ages. Andrew have mercy time and life is short I might join my ancestors before trying this tutorial.

We must understand that doing tutorials take a long time to complete, and remember that this is only an extra that he does for us despite his busy schedule doing real world projects.Let's just cut the guy some slack, we're all just visitors at his website afterall.

These tutorials take a lot of time to complete and post for everyone to enjoy. Add to that, a life away from all of this and other well paying commitments...you get the idea. Whenever the tutorial is posted, it will be well worth it and the wait we are experiencing will be a forgotten memory. "Gotta love VideoCopilot", I do.

The tutorial will NEVER come out. I think with all the work he has going on there is just no time for him to get it done. Congrats to Andrew on all his success but you have to admit Videocopilot has went downhill the past year or two. Updates are few and far between. There has not been a new product out in ages. Tutorials are sparce. I knew the day would come and its sad but we just have to take what we can get and support Andrew in all his endevors.

This is so cool! I can't believe you've got so far. This looks just like what you would see in a movie! Thank you so much for all you've done for us with all the tutorials and products and just awesome stuff going on on the website.
OK People need to calm the **** down - Andrew is not an unemployed teenage bum who lives at his moms house! - he propably have a shitload of cool work to do besides making FREE quality tutorials and dont have time to server the hungering Aftereffects masses

Great great stuff! Something was funny with the air bus' wing that seemed to fall down and snapped back in position as the camera zoomed in. Don't know how that happened though.
I love these tutorials. I've learned so much about AE from you guys. Going to have to buy some stuff from your store as a give back.

Great Andrew, I really liked the way that the plane looks. What kind of HDRI did you used for this? I mean the plane is about 15 miles above the ground, and I see a thin reflection of some sort on the shadow side, like a sheen thing, like they use for the mobiles.

Cool men, Cant wait to see the tutorial. Andrew could you please include the project files too when you release the tutorial I have greatly improved using after effects THANKS TO YOU. I am thinking of including your name in my resume as my tutor, I hope it wont be a problem since you promised that on the basic tutorials. Hey! Very nice job! I'm really interested about, how did you do the smoke and fire from the engine of the plane! I know your main profile is the After effects but I really pruseat if you make a tutorial in reelflow or in that software what you used to make that smoke effect!

I'd really like to see a tutorial with Sam as a WWI or WWII fighter pilot. Something that shows us how to 360 HDRI panoramas and fake ground movement. Maybe I'll figure it on my own, but it would be more fun to watch Sam doing it...

Would have loved to have seen a bit of shimmer or light glare across the top of the aeroplane as it turns, just to add a bit more of realism...using the OPTICAL FLARES!

You know Andrew you make really amazing tutorials and videos. You should get some people together and do little short film with tons of effects, maybe 5 mins long. Make ultimate use of every tutorial you made so far (well almost every lol) Thank you for making those tutorials for us. You amazing

I was on a KRAMERICAN AIRLINES Pontoon Plane Flight from Wrangell to Ketchikan once.
The only thing it DIDN'T do, was burn up an engine !!!

Turbosquid has good plane models for 3DSMAX I GOT 2 MODELS THAT ARE VERY GOOD, very nice. 3dmax 2012 up and ready for the tutorial.

Cool preview. Can't wait to understand why the burning wing falls from top(you tube 25 Sec) and comes parallel to the airplane body and how such a realistic airplane and sky was done.

The 'wingfall' is just a neat way to clue the viewer into how the shot was constructed. i.e. it was a digital comp dropped in and then moved about on a layer to fake the turbulance. It goes from greenscreen, to keyed and colour corrected, to background plate, wing, flame elements etc. Then dirty lensovision

There is a huge step up from making a three shot clip of a plane into making a full blown movie.
I would assume it's not that Andrew couldn't do this ('cause I'm sure he's thought about it just like most of us have), but the timescales involved are overwhelming.
That's why ILM et al evoke production pipelines and hundereds of artists, becuase one or two guys (or even 10) would take so long to create a movie up to the standard of motion pictures nowadays.
I'd love to see one too, and who knows, if Andrew has a spare 5 years maybe we will

found the free plane model on turbosquid similar to yours.
it was for 3dmax, now i looked for c4d but they are crappy. I am working with c4d 11.5.I assume you are going to be doing the animation in 3dmax, any sulotions for c4d to get it ready for after effects composite?

A tut on how to use Adobe Soundboot would be very helpfull.

Thanks CRoblex, I'm familiar with VC's Sound design products and tuts. It's not really additional techniques of sound design that I'm interested in. I'm more interested in how and where Andrew gets his sound for recent promos. Not expecting him to share his secrets or anything - just maybe a hint. Does he have access to a studio that creates/composes these sound designs and scores from scratch or does he buy them etc. Just curious

The vfx part is amazing no question. Its Sams Spirit, but the Pilot is outstanding, just fun,thx 4that.
Excellent work. Very impressed with the small details like dirt and scratches looking through windows. Better looking than some of the work being done in broadcast now.

Kramerican Airlines! lol! Man Can't wait for this tutorial to come out! I have a plane to do in a film... now I just have to figure out how to make them jumping out of the Air Plane realistic!

Hey Andrew, where did you find the image of the inside of the plane? I have looked for images such as that ('cept with trains, cars, etc.) and have had little to no luck.
