I was on my way home just now but I had to grab my camera because the sky was doing cool things. Dang it! It's amazing the difference a fancy sky background can have on your composites, so here are some 2K images to use!

I've been following you for a while now and you have been an inspiration. I live in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Big fan of After Effects .
Here is a youtube link of an old video by a band called TEXAS
I was wondering if you had some insights on How those transitions were made, I'm guessing , Chroma and camera projections with some 3D, but it's just a guess .

Thank You, and keep up the good work

Andrew thanks for the images. Andrew do you have any idea how this commercial is being done. I've tried using riot gear but the water color effect is so awesome. Any suggestion please! http://vimeo.com/14999635

If you driving and you are thinking of curves adjustment and sky replacements, you need to lay off AE for a while.. lol
Really beautiful!!! thanks, Andrew! I believe that for all your goofing off, generosity truly is the driving force of your brilliant campaign to success. Then again, maybe I'm just naieve... or is it niaeve ... no, nieve... you know, Evian backwards.

It's like you are trying to get into heaven or something.
I think you have a dark mysterious past and are trying to make up for it.... *shivers*

That's so funny to see this posted. You live in Murrieta, don't you? I was driving to UCR from my house in Murrieta and saw the sky. I was so upset I didn't have my camera because it just looked amazing! I was really regretting not being able to photograph it. Thanks for the pictures man!
Thanks Andrew.
I will add this to my collection of my own shots. As my Grandfather used to say,"You can never have too many creepy clouds."

I want you to know that I blame you! I can't look at an effect without breaking it down in to layers of solids, effects, lights and presets. I break them down in my mind. I can see the steps taken to create the magic and either appreciate it for the work put in or say to my self, "I can do that, Andrew Kramer showed me how!!"
Thank you Andrew, for showing me how.
I'm just getting started. I'm limited without a video camera for raw footage but I'm doing what I can with stills. I will be submitting a few items in the Showcase forum when I get them tweaked.

Andrew might not be a god, but he can easily turn himself into one with After Effects. Then he can easily smite us all... or just Sam.
These images are fantastic!

These will surely be handy for some sky replacement I'm doing.

Are those raw or did you tweak 'em? I love the sky where I'm at on the east coast. If I had a decent camera I would send some your way. Big puffy white ones on a seriously blue background - often with the sun highlighting the edges. Thanks for these.

Thanks for these pictures.
And for those who think cool things happens only near Andrew, try to look at the sky every day and I can assure you that you will see beautiful things from time to time.

Thanks Andrew! But I can't stand it when you see an awesome sky and you not able to really capture it with a camera. I think video clips do a far better job.

Cool pics, clouds have been getting pretty awesome here in Cali in the past week, especially during sunsets. Clouds are so amazing to watch sometimes, I spent a week in the sierras this summer practicing time-lapses. They can be pretty hard to do sometimes, it takes lots prep work. It would be SO AWESOME if you did a tut on advanced time-lapse photography or the post work involved!
Here's one I did in mammoth, youtube kinda crushed the blacks though :C. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEVPumEW2B4
