Action Essentials 2 Spotted in Fox Promo

I couldn't find the exact video I saw on TV but here is one of the promos for a show called Human Target on FOX. The design has a slick scope effect with some well-composited explosions and smokey hits that melt right into the design. This graphics package is a great example of using stock elements transparently within the design. In fact I didn't even recognize it until I combined curiosity with my DVR recorder and played it back in slow motion :) There was a more elaborate 3D fly-through in the version I saw but I thought I would share this one anyways.

Action Essentials 2 is our HD stock footage collection with over 500 elements that is great for compositing AND motion graphics!

Just to let you know, Smokin Aces 2 Assassins Ball is using your Bad Film Twitch!!! it's a frame by frame copy of your tutorial, shame on them!!! It's around 25 minutes and it is worth a good laugh... I'm pretty sure they are using some Action Essential 2 too there!!!

today i went to mexico to take care of stuff and while i was coming, there was this electronic billboard and it was displaying some ads. 2 of them, which were from the same company, were made using your tutorials. One was the new VC Reflect and the other was from a particle tutorial. I was just amazed. :0

Hi,I am so new to these kind of things...Now working on the stuff about the basic training that Andrew showed us,hopefully they will make me better by time,I am just a starter yet...
And about that scene effected...seems cool on fox...Dunno whoever done that,but the explosion scene and car glass break seems more familier after watching some tutorials...

I was watching the star wars marathon on spike tv over christmas and they had a contest for homemade star war videos. The video that got picked by George Lucas in its credits used the exact replica of the Surge Target preset. Same orange background and all.

It was done by Roger LA ( http://roger.tv )

I art directed the design phase, and the final is a hybrid of some of my designs and some other stuff. I came up with the scope idea, but I can't take credit for any of the production. The promo you probably saw is one where a bullet is flying through a kind of SportsCenter-y warehouse space and hits an image of the main character which turns out to be a paper target, no?

I saw this on TV the other day and thought, "Hey, that looks like some CoPilot A. Kramer stuff!" Turns out...it is! BTW, thanks for getting me through my animation class this semester with flying colors. Basic Training and the other free tutorials were invaluable. Someday, if I ever get a job doing this stuff, I will buy lots of VC product to pay you back! Really, VC should get the tuition paid to the university, no joke.

I have been seeing more and more Video Copilot products and even tutorials on TV. Some local news stations around here in Spokane Washington and now I'm starting to see some stuff on the History Channel. Yeah the History Channel. Tutorial #89 Soft Shadows. The History channel has the almost the exact same thing except it says Holiday Greetings(or something like that). But the animation and colors are almost exact. But I have to say I'm not the least bit surprised. Andrew has a great talent in AE. I love watching his tutorials. I bought the "The Bullet" a few months ago and it was spectacular. Thanks for all your hard work.

I just spotted AE2 in use in the latest mass effect trailer. the blood on the screen at 3:18 are elements Blood Splat 04 and 05. nice to see that the pros and i have something in common.

ah yeah. they use allot of VC stuff on a german channel called "Pro 7". They use allot of designer sound fx and i even spotted some promos made by a few tuts here on video copilot. i guess one was even very similar to the ancient titles tut.^^

I went to the new Cowboys stadium two weeks ago for the game with San Diego. I noticed they were using the Fracture Design project file, with the word "DEFENSE". I yelled that's from Andrew Kramer, my girlfriend looked at me with those what the heck are you talking about eyes (and sit own and shut up, I'm trying to watch them game). It looked awesome on s sixty yard long giant HD screen.

I agree with Martins suggestion - being able to see different takes on your tutorials and products can really open up some ideas on how to use the tools you offer, plus, it is a testament to your hard work. With the mass number of VC heads on the site, I am sure it would fill up with content very quickly!

Yeah, I see VC stuff all the time on TV. Mostly local stuff though, the local FOX affiliate here in Greensboro, North Carolina totally ripped the Sure Target tutorial. Didn't even change the color.

That's awesome, congrats! I gotta tell you, I have started to see Video Copilot stuff EVERYWHERE, in tons of commercials and TV shows (I'm pretty sure Saturday Night Live used some AE2 explosions in a recent skit). Wow, they used the crap out of AE2 in that. I don't think I would use just pure AE2 in a promo, because it's so recognizable, so I'm shocked that Fox did.

Thats got to be awesome just watching TV and seeing your hard work put to use.

i see your stuff all the time, local fox uses your stuff a lot, the new rhapsody uses one of your ink flows, final destination (the new one) uses your ink flows in the trailer. I'm not 100% sure but at the end of the last harry potter movie a few of the ink flows seemed familiar. Its kind of a game now i play with my friend spotting you in different videos.

Awesome, I have viewed some adverts/tv shows where I believe Action Essentials was also used, but can't put my finger on them right now.

Action Movie Essentials I & II have helped my film's post production greatly for added atmospheres, muzzle flashes, cartidge and blood splats that our effects make-up artist was unable to do, or was not available on set on a given day.

Can't wait for the lens flares!

I think what you have done to the Motion Graphics / Visual Effect world is ridiculous. I can't seem to turn on a TV without seeing Evolution and Riot Gear. In fact, I saw a lot of Evolution in Vegas.

In a Danish television program called "m??¸rk og jul" they also uses Action Essentials.

I know by a fact that many of your guides / items are being used by TV stations here in Denmark. I have seen your Ice Shattering tutorial (from Designer Sound FX) being used in a Mermaid poker advert (with some other colors) and your 3D Room in a advert fore some horror TV-shows etc.

I've seen plenty of VC's products and tutorials been used in Finnish commercials and movies. For example, Riot Gear in movie trailers and Fly By Titles in commercials (Kinda modified, though). You can see VC products a lot in TV and movies.

I've seen action essentials used in several places. I just wish I could remember the spots. Everytime I see Twitch being used these days I have to laugh. maybe Andrew stole his effects from that movie and now he is claiming that they used his effects....it's all a Hoax.....i have to look for a new hero now lol ((-:

Today i made a beautyfull graphics chart file for my work ( i work at THE local tv station of Amsterdam)
...and it works like a charmmmmm....saves me loads of time.
i did found one thing kinda weird thou...and that is when you set theMax Value to 100%...and when you change the graphic...sometimes it does not match the percentages.
for example when i make a 25 % a 50% and a 75% than the 25% graphic looks like a 10%....so it does not match.
what i do now is i type in the number myself....because the number does not match the graphic...anyways it's not a pain to type in the number by hand

I was tagging those locally for my employer, I thought they were yours Andrew.

I'm guessing that they also combined a couple of your other tutorials and Riot Gear in there as well. Note the fly-through of the rifle boresight with the depth of field to the title.

You said once that you wanted to see people combine and adapt your tuts for their own purposes (paraphrase); this is a wonderful example of that. Gratz dude!

I've already seen some Footages of Action Movie Essentials 1 in German TV and i think in the future there will be a few more moments where i think: "Oh yeah ame2".

Haha, I'm pretty sure Super 8 (produced by Speilberg and directed by JJ Abrams) has his optical flares plugin. Also, Tosh.O uses Action Essentials too.
