I spent part of this week playing around with some different ideas and concepts for future tutorials or breakdowns. The first example uses some interesting camera animation techniques as well as Particle world for the fog. It was all created with standard AE tools.

If you download the second video and make sure QuickTime is set to loop it should play seamlessly. Kind of an interesting idea for making fluid videos that play through forever. The camera move is a bit wild but I don't even know what that stuff is...

I agree with the post before me. I would rob, steal and/or pillage anything you desire to have the first one made into a tut. Even the project file would do so i can see what you did and reverse engineer it. I will <3 you forever if you do. BTW, thank you for your loyal dedication you have to spoon feed people like me. I've learned so much in a short amount of time mostly from your site

If you play the first one backwards, it looks like the ground is steaming. Great videos by the way. I just bought a bundle, hope the proceeds go towards buying you many pizzas in the future.

Loving the look of both the vids...

Hmm, I like the effects on that first one, but smoke and fog still look horrible in basic AE. I've been trying to get a small 2D fog bank/smoke screen idea going for a while, and it just looks terrible.

Also, I know you do some work for Fringe, but how much pull do you really have in the show? I've noticed "Kramer Something-or-other" business signs, and the most recent episode had a character named Emily Kramer... just coincidence? Tell JJ Abrams I say hi, and to bring back Alias!

Also, I find the opening sequence... perfectly ironic. Very colorful, bright, and almost magical. It fits JJ's music perfectly, and gives a lighter sort of contrast to the darker nature of the show. (I know this post wasn't about Fringe, but I just had to get all that out there.)

I loved seeing your opening for Fringe every Wednesday night, but noe that it's been canned on Aus TV I'll just have to live without it for a while, which makes me quite sad as I really liked it.

I am a dutch boy of 15, you made me totaly understand After Effects!
At my school we have a 'Video Crew' and with crastmas and other school party's, an the theatre at school, we take care of all the video parts!

I've always been a great fan of your work and can't say thank you enough for your enlightening tutorials and products.

I've recent;y been trying to get a newspaper look that is similar to the Discovery Promo of "Behind the News". Would be great if you can do a similar tutorial on this and share some insight on how it can be done.

I Think it would be really interesting if you show us how you modeled those nerve like things, what material you built for the skin of the nerves, and how you animated the shot..

Love the first 'inside' one, especially how it loops

The 'kinetic' one for me was spoiled because the smoke jumped out as being very fake and particle-effect looking, this distracted me

Andrew I'm not one for begging... but I would be an awesome early christmas gift to see a tutorial on that exploding text that you used on the bullet dvd... I've spent countless hours working on that and neverrr mastered it. I've always been able to do any effect I wanted... BUT THAT one.

Hey Peter Somers. I made this tutorial for getting a cinema 4d camera and null into After Effects. Once you get your null from c4d to AE you can link it to particular. Pretty neat!

The second video looks interesting. Very "CSI" like ...
If you're going to do a tutorial for this one, a useful extra would be how to export camera data from 3DS or Cinema4D to AfterEffects.
(actually, vice-versa would be even better : creating your main composition with camera flow in AE and then going to C4D to add 3D elements ...)

sweet. I love the second one. Andrew if you read this when I watched the second one I instantly thought of the 'Alien' films and 'chestbursting' aliens. it would be mad to see this integrated with an alien bursting out and the camera following it out into actual footage.

Awesome, those look sweet! I'd love to find some time to sit down and tweak AE's standard particle tools, really get some sweet stuff out of them...but for the moment I've only got time to watch the tutorials, not get deep into learning the material like I'd like to.
