Hey Tom Dooley,
If your work is superb, why don't you show us so we can see that you are an expert able to offer advice worthwhile to note; in the meanwhile you are the one who may take your 'cherio' comments elsewhere and hang out with those other 'better' so-called websites. I have been with Video Copilot since the early stages and they are a great company; thank you Mr. Andrew Kramer and the entire Video Copilot Team!!!

There are thousands of good tutorials out there. You release a half tutorial in over one year, show pictures than anybody can do better in photoshop and you offer free items like this roof top stuff who are in fact just boring primitives or star wars items, nobody can use, because they belong to a well protected franchise. Maybe you have to focus more on your new career and stop announcing things who take you a year and more to realize. There are other people out there doing better meanwhile.
Cheerio and good luck for your future.

He's released 2x free plugins and he's about to release another. Meanwhile his paid-for tuff is widely used across the industry. And I have heard more people talk about Kramer's tutorials for After Effects than anyone else online.
Meanwhile I have never heard of Tom Dooley - except this one post where you come across as a spoiled brat.

Yes, there are indeed many other resources. If you're unhappy with things here, then by all means look elsewhere. There's no need to be hostile or dismissive.

Dooley- Andrew Kramer accomplishes more before breakfast than you will in your entire lifetime. Just sayin

I'll never understand how people can find the audacity to complain about someone who offers free quality resources to people trying to learn a new craft. You are a leach, piss off.

Let's see what Andrew has done this year:
-Finished working on Star Wars
-Worked on 10 Cloverfield Lane
-Worked on Star Trek Beyond
-Posting on the blog more frequently with his workflow
-Presented at NAB all of his Star Wars work
-Created a Free Plug-in Called Saber
-New SuperHero Landing show with tons of VFX
-Free Roof Pack
-Free Roof Tutorial
-Free Star Wars Pack
-Working on another new blog show
About to release a new workflow plug-in for FREE

This site is finally getting back to everything we love about it!

He's done all of this while trying to finish his short film so that people like you will stop complaining. With friends like you...

No other website gives so much away for Free. Sure Target, VC Reflect, Color Vibrance...

First post, but had to respond to this. Thank you Michael, for breaking down the productivity of Andrew. I'm growing and learning because of Andrew, unleashing a creativity within me. Even if there was only ONE person in the entire world that would be inspired and grow because of Andrew - mission accomplished. Instead, he inspires hundreds, if not - thousands and thousands. GLOBALLY. It's not so much about how many "Cool" VFX and Motion Graphics you can make, create and showcase. I believe Andrew's true passion is to share, inspire, motivate, challenge and push everyone creatively. Spreading nothing but love through his art. Now that, is better then any VFX or "Career". Open your eyes Tom...

This site is so often filled with people and their "when" questions. Man, what a tough order! The stuff here is of great quality and gives us all lessons and tools that can elevate our skills and work. It shouldn't be the only source of this though... as watching a 20 mins tutorial is not much for the viewer's investment side, but a heck of lot of work on the creator's side. Anyone commenting on here ever build a team and develop an in-depth plug-in for AE? Me neither, and I expect it's a ridiculously lengthy process through planning, development, building, testing, building, etc. One lesson worth learning, for many it would seem, is patience. Video Copilot is here to complement your growth and knowledge base, but Andrew can't feed that constantly. I recommend sitting back more and learning to wait- maybe refresh the blog once a week, instead of hourly. If you've done, say, 40 hours of compositing/editing work, etc... well then come back to the site to see what's updated. You've earned it and you will feel better when you see new blog posts, etc. - and then you will be ready to use what's new to inform your next chunk of work. If you can be really zen... come back monthly and relish what's new at that point and take these things and get back to even more creative stuff. On the other hand, if you want to be entertained quickly and constantly (and not then work on building your skills and work)... order up Netflix or check out sites like Art of the Title or Montionographer and go through their whole catalogue. That's my 2 cents... just ease up on all these expectations... while adding patience to your tool kit (along with E3D and Saber, etc). Cheers.
