Check out our latest video as we examine creating Sci-Fi weapons with After Effects!

After painting a NERF gun with some matte black spray paint, we used a variety of built-in plug-ins plus some design elements from the ShockWave pack to create these futuristic FX. The possibilities are unlimited!

And of course we used our new Sound FX Library to create all the high-tech weapon sounds!

You can mask certain places on some slots and you can track footage and connect mask and animate the mask with some glow on top of it

Please do a tutorial on how you made the Sci-Fi weapon laser fire... aside from the shockwave effect which is awesome, I would love to see a full how-to on firing the weapon's laser blast and adding the lighting effect on the gun itself. I'm making a short film and would love to use this. Thanks.

i CAme with this with the monster E3D,I took me minutes to create this with E3D and action essentials than planning idea for this, which means VC is fast as our creativity ideas I Hope.

Hello Andrew, Totally amazing Promo! As Usual. Just One Question that is not related to this video though, Why in all your tutorials, you never focus on Shape Layers? Event though we can do amazing cool stuff with it, especially for info-graphics, logo animation... Any chance we'll be seeing a Kramer Tutorial but for shape Layers?
