In this mystical new tutorial we will be compositing some stock footage elements and custom made particle effects to build a powerful wizardly blast. We will also use the ripple effect to distort the background around the explosion.

Whoa. This footage is sure amazing, but I've got a very important question regarding to the usage. Is this CC? May we only use it for non-comercial work and of course giving due credit to videocopilot.com? What are the restrictions?

Been on this site for years and love it! But I sadley knew one day it would come to this and I think we are at that time. Blog posts, updates and tutorials are becoming so spread out. With how amazing Andrew is it is no surprise. He has so many other offers I am sure to do work which is great and amazing. Just miss the old videocopilot where I would check the site numerous times a day waiting eagerly for the next blog post or tutorial or update on a new product. Have you ever taken into consideration that the plugin was going to be released before Christmas, but that its so good and ground breaking within after effects that Adobe have brought it to release with the software of CS6.

hi there Andrew! i've been wondering if theres a way to create a realistic "waterman" or "glassman" effect with using only AE.i found a few tutorials when i googled it but they are not satisfying ones unfortunately :/ i wonder if that'd look realistic if i shoot the scene on greenscreen and tint the actor infront of the greenscreen to create a displacement map then distort the background using that displacement map.but theres still reflections needed to make that effect look realistic.if theres one guy who can do that with using after effects,it is definitely you,i hope you make a tutorial about this soon.i adore your work )

I've been waiting for this one! It looks great! Makes me wish I was better with Studio Max, as more and more of your tutorials seem to involve it's use in some way. I'm grateful that you provide us the rendered effect to use in our work. And I'm even more grateful that you still mostly use After Effects!

Thanks for the great stock footage, I know it wasn't the hardest to make using Fume. But not everyone has every software and add-on in the world or desire to learn every tool out there and sometimes releasing something basic can be much appreciated.
Also as always your tutorials and ideas are amazing.
You're a VFX prodigy, a regular Doogie Howzer of effects, like a yo-yo ma is to the chello world you're the yo-yo dude of the video world, like Randy Quaid's character "Ishmael" the prodigy of bowling in the movie Kingpin!

No new techniques for this tutorial, but it's always useful to revise some basics, and I'm sure it will be sweet for everyone who hasn't seen the previous hardcore ones. ;D
BTW Thanks SO MUCH for the fumefx stock footage. It must be quite easy to do (or at least you say so), but with no 3ds max I can tell it's as hard as hell ;P

I always think how to create 2012 film scenes or transformer film in 3d and compostite in composting application i always looking forward to that i hope you create a tutorial on that in the near future and that would be really awesome mr. andrew but anyway thanks for your time for making tutorials.

thanks mr.andrew but we are also looking for 3d max tutorials such as rayfire to collapse building or something and fume fx and advanced modeling techinque to composite it with scene in after effects if possible thanks again for the effort I know its hard to take time and make tutorial.
