Quick Matte

You may have thought we forgot about a free plug-in we were developing last year. Well we didn't forget, we just had other things to focus on. However, I've been finalizing this matte-generating and refining tool and it's release is imminent.

This plug-in isn't going to make people like you but it will certainly help with your matte adjusting needs. Oh, and people will like you more too!

I would love to know the status of this as well. Like Prema, I would dearly love an effect/plugin that would allow me to treat one layer as the track matte for multiple layers without any precomposing. I'm sick of thousands of duplicate track mattes that are hard to update globally cluttering my timeline. I look for a plugin that does this every few years, and no one has made one yet. Quick Matte looks promising. If it does this, please release it! No need to make it free. I would gladly pay money for such a plugin. Bonus points if you can the plugin to work in Premiere too.

Hi Andrew are you still developing this Quick Matte plugin? The ae inbuilt Set Matte is not a flexible effect and using track mattes is a huge issue for workflow when you want to use one matte for multiple layers - and end up being forced to create multiple layer duplicates. This is something adobe really needs to look into but you tend to be more proactive than the developers there!

Hey AK,
Could you do a quick sheet with all the expressions from your videos on it? I can't always sit and watch the tuts to remember the expressions you used, and it would be extremely helpful.

I like to make welcome doormattes,placemattes,aftermattes,bath mattes,mousemattes,slipmattes (for DJ's), anti-vibration mattes.A tool like this will really come in handy.

I really hope it makes us like ourselves. I really am burdened by a terrible amount of self hatred. Maybe, just maybe, a matte tool will help with that since most of my self hatred is matte related.
