Coming to After Effects New York

March 6th, 2008

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be in New York this March 27, 2008 for the monthly AE meeting. I have a presentation planned and hopefully I can meet some of you at the meeting as well. Should be a lot of fun with our friend Aharon Rabinowitz too, so please come on down if you can.

I also want to thank my friend Jacob Rowan for inviting Sam and I to the Clippers Basketball game last night; never sat so close before. Did I mention front row seats? The coach actually called on me to play in the game, but my knee was acting up so I played anyways. True story.

Dude, Twitch is INSANE! I love it. I was waiting for it since midnight yesterday and as soon as it went up, I had to buy it. I see a lot of great stuff coming out this plug-in. You guys ROCK!

Hi Andrew,

Maybe it's a good Idea to make a short video of all of the shortcuts in After Effects, like "P" is position, "F4" is for 3D layers or blending options etc.

I will change my station so, I want some recomendations about the features my new pc need to have, for a good-profetional video editing. like: Wich mainboard is better AMD or Intel? Is it 2GB Ram good? Wich is the best video aceleration card Gforce or Nvidia? How much video memory do I need? What about the HDD?. I really want to make profetional videos. I'm a Volunteer Firefighter, last time you came, I had responded to a brush fire earlier that afternoon, and long story short, a tree fell and knocked out my chief, True Story. I spent the rest of the day in the hospital while my cheif was getting cat-scanned I was extremely upset and coudn't come into the city in time I couldn't wait for you to come again. I live about a half hour from the city and will be there. I love your website and am looking forward to seeing you and Aaron Rabinowitz.

the meetings are free, but seating is limited. We're working on a bigger space, but no promises for the next meeting.

ANYONE is welcome to the meeting.

It's not part of the Maxon event, but we will be connecting with it. More info on that soon.

For the record - I co run-the group with JIM GEDULDICK (ToolFarm) and DENNIS RADEKE (Adobe) who without their contributions, the group would not continue to exist. I tend to be the front man (mostly because I can't stop talking), but the fact is that these guys do a TON of heavy lifting to make this group what it is - So make sure to shake their hands when you come.

Thanks for uploading the high res trailer. It really looks great as usual.

HOWEVER... I don't see those great particle effects you were showing previously!!!

(IMO...I think you should have included that arcing camera move closeup on the Twitch letters for extra impact)

Anyway, I wish you would do the same demo here in Los Angeles at MGLA!!!
