They're using Element 3D, an After Effects plug-in written by Video Copilot themselves. Apparently it used OpenGL. I had to look it up too!

I am pretty sure I am close to maxing out my video card with this scene but your digital set inspired me. I have posted a couple of different color grades. I admit that I was greatly inspired by Blade Runner. Is that a bad thing?

This video can be a very good example to show that After Effects is not only a motion graphic software. It is getting power with those plugins for VFX. But it is still using for making motion graphic. After Effects can make some Vfx things faster than some other software.

Thanks Neil! You explained that perfectly! I can actually now picture it in my head how the vertigo effect works. It also explains why you can sometimes see the slight vibration of the dolly as it moves when they do this in films. Thank you!

Emanuel - look up 'contra zoom' or 'dolly zoom'. It's a technique that comes from standard film cameras, in which the camera physically moves in one direction (towards or away from) the subject of the shot, while the lens is zoomed in the opposite direction. So for example, you might start a shot zoomed in on the subject, then - during the shot - move the camera towards the subject while simultaneously zooming out. The aim is to keep the subject roughly the same relative size in the frame - the camera position change relative to the zoom changes the foreshortening of the shot, which appears to affect the background more than the subject, giving the look you're talking about...

This is amazing! Anyone know what that particular zoom technique that starts at the 2:40 mark is called or how to create it? I've been trying to figure it out forever! Same zoom technique as when Simba sees the stampede (at the 0:57 mark here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axDZalxEdi8). I can't imagine it's as simple as zooming in the foreground while zooming out of the background.

Which softwares u used please tell me and what is world position pass and z pass I almost watched your all tutorial my name is Sunny my age is 12 please ans my question.
Phil

Hey Sunny, the main software used is After Effects as well as VideoCopilots plugin Element 3d.
World position pass & the difference between it & a Z pass will more than likely be explained in the tutorial (which will be posted soon)
Morgan

The software he uses is adobe after effects which can be downloaded if you purchase the Adobe creation suite and pay for it monthly. You will have access to all of adobe's products (photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) and if you want a discount since you are so young they have an educational download which required proof that you go to a school I just scanned my school ID and report car and I get it for a cheaper amount per month now. And for the z-depth and stuff like that video copilot explains what it is in another video tutorial where it shows how to make a rock shatter from the ceiling in a parking garage. I forget what the tutorial was called but you can watch all his tutorials on this website videocopilot.net and you can learn so much in after effects of you buy it but if you can't afford it you can also get hitfilm just google that I forget the price for that but since ur only 12 which was the age I started getting interested in visual effects and film making in general u probably want to learn a lot and the best place to learn is here on videocopilot.net and some YouTube channels like filmriot which has over 700 videos now which are funny, entertaining and very helpful and almost reach u everything u need to know. U can also look at rocket jump which is an entertaining YouTube channel and on their website they have lessons in rocket jump film school which is also very helpful. Have fun dude making films are great and all these places to learn help a lot and if u have any questions like what is z-depth and stuff like that research it online. YouTube has sooooooo much information that helped me learn so much. Peace bro and good luck
