Can anyone import the folder into the browser. Every time I do import it imports the folder of the separate pictures and not as a sequence. Can some one help me out?

Awesome tutorial, but it looks like everyone will need to buy the Red Giant Software's Trapcode Particular effect. The trial version doesn't have the animation presets you have on this tutorial.

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to motion track to multiple nulls. I've only been using AE for a week. Need help. Also, the null was not giving me a Z coordinate to parent to like in this tutorial. Don't know how to fix that. Can anyone help?

Hey Andrew,love your tutorials,I just have a question... The part where you composite the 3d objects... I always get a black background.. like when I batch render... and when I try to get rid of it in AE by keying it out... you can tell that the edges are rough,even after feathering it.. please if you could explain detailed how to render from 3ds max for compositing in AE without black background? Or even better Maya Thanks in advance and keep up the great work.

hmmm..nice tutorials.This is my favorite website.I'm gonna make an action movie so im learning from this site.But i do hav a problem is that i only hav an old dv cam.Its picture quality is not like those i see in this turtorials.Any tutorials related how to improve looks like videos in this site?Cos buying a quality cam is too expensive for me and we are already spending too much on rest of the movie.

hey first of all thanks for the tutorials!!! but when i download the project files, they download fine but they crash my After Effects, i re sized them cuz they were huge but they still crash it? it also "skips" kinda..like the files are corrupted or something.

I'm sure someone else has said this, but the fringe is a result of AE expecting unpremultiplied RGB in the PNG sequence, and you should interpret the footage as premultiplied (since this is how it comes out of 3DS.)

Very cool tutorial and I love the talent you have.
But sometimes it's frustrating when I am going through this tutorial only to find I don't have Trapcode Particular installed. Even more frustrating to see it cost $299.99.
So nice tut, but I, myself can't use it since I don't have the right tools. I like the ones you do that only feature the things that can be done with a stock version of AE CS3.
But you can't control what we have

In my Adobe After Effects it didn't have the Effect trapcode and then particular to get the particles, do I need additional software to be able to do this?

I have the trapcode of particular, but the animation presets of particular only have "None" I have all the t_xxxxxxx but all of them are in format .gif and after effects doesn't recognize it.

I want to thank you! Uploading the 3ds Max render was a great idea, as I had some troubles following your workflow there. I don't even know how to close the spline in max...

I have a Null Object layer controlling the XY position of the Particular emitter.
As soon as I make that Null a 3D Layer, the particles disappear.
Any ideas as to where I've gone wrong?

Andrew, why did you use "Remove Color Matting"? It is easier to just set the Alpha to premultiplied, cause 3ds Max renders this way. And you would not get a fringe on the edges at colorcorrection.
For those who do not know how to set it to Premultiplied: Right click on the PNG sequence - go to Interpred Footage - and choose Premultiplied under Alpha. You can also press Guess if you not sure.

woooooooow, nice job there is a lot of things I learned with this tutorial, I would like to see more 3d traking tutorials mixing 3d max and after effects using bojou. You make everithing so simple, now yo can relax and drink a margarita and prepare for the next big tutorial.

Really cool. I have always been scared to touch max particle generators, this seems a nice introduction to them. Also, i agree if you plan to make an afterburn or fume fx tutorial.

Wow, that was so much easier than it looked. What was that one video of the crash that you showed at the end? That one looked incredible, and so does the one you just did in like 15 minutes. As always a great tutorial. Hopefully Trapcode is paying you. Also, love the announcer voice. Don't listen to the haters. I would love to see a tutorial on expressions alone. I've been trying to teach myself through some javascript tutorials but any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Especially because you are such a bad ass with them.
