Anyone want to go into further detail on how to reflect the text, starting at 8:35 I get lost. When I rotate it, the text is always the same on both layers, even after rotating it. on both axises, I'm on CS5.5 it may be different than this version. Thanks

It's a very nice tutorial but for me it feels strange that camera animated from right to left. Most right-handed persons would have animated it from left to right.
It's the same with children. They always draw the sun on the right side of the picture.
One of my school teachers even said that if they draw it on the left, they are either left-handed or there is something wrong with them.

Hi, great tutorial! I found it really useful.
Although I'm finding it very difficult to just move the camera around so I can see my work while I'm working on it. Every time I try to use the unified camera tool or the rotate tool it is very difficult to position and it will do annoying things like move the viewpoint underneath the surface layer or behind my text or sometimes in the middle of nowhere, far away from my work!

I've seen on a french TV (NT1) exactly the same vidéo.The graphist of this channel reproduce your tutorial. He has juste change the word that you've been using in this tutorial. It's not the first time that appened. A french graphist whose name is MATTRUNKS has been copying one weeks ago by the same channel, when he has published a tuts on his website. This is just a shame that a TV channel do not try to work with professionnal, but only with uncreatives cheaters... this may be what we call in french a "pistonné" (some one that daddy help to have a job)

Hey Andrew, first of all, thanks for all the years of these kick-ass tutorials!!!
I run into a problem working with this tutorial though. I kinda used the same setup, but i added lights to the 32bit scene. In my exports i get purple blocky artifacts, any idea what's wrong, because i've never had any problems with things like this.

Sometimes I just worry, everything that's going to be created after this GREAT TUT and will look like it, it will be judged by ppl from this field, as: ah that's AK stuff, but then again, without AK I wouldn't know ,even if I had an ephiphany on the moon, how to do this, so I jus say BIG thank you.

i think you are an artist, you can think outside the box, you don't see a shape you see more than that.. so. for the rest of the people , we can learn from your experience and try to think by ourself about conbinations and thinks, because i already see like i don't know more than 20 videos or so, and it's true, im a developer and in my work i have to think in the path before now the result, and this is an example of what im talking about.. i hope you read this..

Good tutorial as always but why did you make a mask for the glow, why not just scale it verticly and blur it a bit, i think it would look better. for example, if you had one color at the top and another at the bottom it would only show the bottom color instead of both, this way they would both show!

Greetings to you freelance master Andrew Kramer.
Apologize in advance if I write a little off topic. The first time I am writing you a comment. I was in the army. On my return I saw many interesting works of thy hands and from the world masters of design. I was particularly surprised by the work that you pointed out in your own blog. I'm talking about the link with the great works of designers - http://wwww. trapcode. com/gallery/.
Frankly, I like your approach to solving certain problems. Your experiment with Trapcode Particular was pretty exciting. I think with the pace you will soon catch up with Harry J. Frank-in knowledge. Yes, and many other graphic designers who have put their masterpieces on the link which I have indicated above. I wish you a memorable projects from major companies and people, and new projects with your hands for us beginners VFX freelancers. Anyway, we too have something to learn from you. Remember one thing - I'm a beginner VFX designer, thank you for your provision of subtle and precious knowledge. I think many beginners agree with me. I wish you to break through to stardom and to celebrate the victory on its top, along with his team. To such an extent that had a budget to produce your own movies, I think you're driving at such a project.

I would like to know how to do that ... So can you make a tutorial for that ( destroying objects) thanks for reading my comment.

Love the new site design, much cleaner look. Was wondering why you didn't play around with using your own VC-Reflect plugin. I live and die by that thing since you published it, would have just figured it would be a way to plug yet another amazing Video Copilot Plugin! Although I guess I understand the greater flexibility using multiple copies to blend out the blur to make it a believable glow.

Hi!
Have anyone tried to unzip the project file? Because it contains a map called '108', but this is the 113. tutorial! I think it needs a correction...
Obviously the tutorial was really perfect! Your style is unbeliveable!
(like in every tut.)

hey Mr Kramer!
did you get your free TV from Sony?
the last technique used for the blur is awesome!
Maybe adding a turbulence effect on blue or red layers could make this effect more vibrant?

Hilarious! I'm just watching your tutorial for 5 minutes (splitscreen rocks) and I already have that ugly grin on my face. Which is good for anyone who doesn't neet to see it. Basically me.
As you opened a new composition "oh, what's that?" and a few minutes later you worded my thought by saying "This is gonna be one of that tutorials..."
Thanks for that. That's what makes your tutorials so much better than the rest (of course if I would watch their tutorials now, I would say that to them ... kidding).

pretty good technique ! I usually use the same approach for shadows.
For Chromatic Abberation you can use my filter "ft-Lens Distortion" which is much easier to use. http://aescripts.com/ft-cubic-lens-distortion/
but I understand you wanted to keep it AE native in this tutorial too
cheers

Couldn´t you make some nice glowing balls with Optical Flares? Just a bright Light without the flares.
Though the method you showed at the end is very usefull, pretty good way to make more custom like glow instead of using the typical AE plug-ins.
One question. Did you edited the animations in your test movie a bit more then shown in the tutorial? Your animations always look so perfect smooth or poppy as you need it. I would love to see a tutorial about some more indepth animating using the Animation Graph Editor etc.
Just some tips how you can give your animations the final touch.

Hi Andrew this tutorial is quite a little bit interesting but ve've been waiting for one month for this !! I have learned a lot of things in the past thanks to your website and now i must admit that the level of your tut is nearly for beginners i would love 2 tuts per month with 2 differents levels for ex: beginners and advanced or intermediate. Anyway even if i know those tuts a free i think you could make serious money here training us to a high level just by selling us the download project for ex .Anyway everyone tells you you are great because you are the only one website that really tries to make us understand how to achieve stunning effects and for all this i wanted to tell you THANK YOU SO MUCH

Thanks for a second useful tutorial in a row! As much as I like blowing stuff up, and as much as I like action essentials, there are very few circumstances where they can be applied.

OH MY GOSH ANDREW!!!! YOU ARE A FREAKIN LIFE SAVER!! hahaha I have seriously been trying to find a neon glow sorta tutorial that looks really good, and need to make an intro with a neon style text with glow off of it by Wednesday at midnight and I was just thinking seriously 2 minutes ago, "It's going to take me all day playing with effects to figure out a good look for it" and then seriously I just got texted a twitter message, opened it up, and it was you saying this tutorial was out! Thanks!!

so I lied about not watching the rest of the tutorial, then I got to " I knew one guy who used levels, not he's dead". at which point the level was to much for me.
