I just noticed something. Andrew is using Rayfire to fracture the glass ball in this tutorial. But a preset he's using inside Rayfire is called Voronoi - Fracture. Voronoi is a free script you can download from scriptspot.com that fractures geometry in 3DS Max. Does anyone else find that interesting, but me? It's not a judgement at all; I just found it curious. I'm going to try this tutorial with the Voronoi script and see if I can duplicate the exact same results for myself.

My glass sphere looks perfect in render preview but when i turn off my environment map to have an alpha channel and render it out in .exr 32bit then glass sphere loses color

Thanks Andrew! Mines came out great! I gave it a green sort of color because I thought it looked nice like emerald but it was a real fun project to do :) More 3ds max vids?
