Hey, this may be a really silly question that has a really easy answer, but I just can't figure it out.
When I insert my Energy Wave into the new Composition with my Title in it - everything works great - but there is a very obvious SOLID LINE where the Energy Wave STOPS, and even where it starts. I do not know why this is happening, and it looks really bad.
Yours just flows, mine is suddenly stopped.
Please help.

When time-framing the "Energy" to go from right to left (or any direction) theres an ugly invisible line that cuts off the energy and doesn't look good

FYI cs5 users the time when he changes the mode to screen all you have to do is got to layer > Blending mode> Screen and thts it!

Hi! Great tutorials. I've just started with After Effects, more as a hobby, and your tutorials really make it easier to get my teeth into the programme!
I was wondering how you increased the speed of the energy. I followed the tutorial before this and got quite a slow energy effect, so it doesn't woosh past like yours does and looks a little awful, what with the text distorting and finishing to distort before the whole effect has gone past. Any ideas? Also, noticed the energy was a lot more streamlined. Obviously I'm not looking to copy you directly, but I cannot achieve the end result that you have, and it's kind of annoying!

For everyone else looking for the original energy wave, and not apparently being answered via forum, I found it. If you go to the page where you can downloag the project ( http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/energy_wipe/ ) there is a very tiny tutorial note that says refer to tutorial 77 (soul Removal is the title)

Hey i Have a problem with the expresions. I cant open the panel whare to type the expresion so cna you tell me how to open the panel. Is there a way to render this effect with alpha and preserve the color. When I try and render without the black background it get a black box around the energy effect. Yep... I'm a noob!

One problem I notice is the light from the 'energy' drops off sharply on the left.
I realise this is because of edge of the layer.
Is there any way around this beyond making the layer larger. I get this a lot when using trapcode shine. It would be great if it could 'spill' over to the other layers

A great tutorial as always.
I want o ask you something I guess many people are gonna be interested knowing the answer to.
What camera would you prefer working with? Since this question depends of many variables I want to focus it this ways.
Let´s suppose that you are asked to propose a new TV series in a local network, it is low budget, but they wish to make it something between “Supernaturalâ€Â and “Heroesâ€Â in terms of style and use of special effects, and they ask you to come with a trailer of 5 minutes of ideas and concepts, lots of cool effects, look for color and texture of the picture, etc.
They give you 6 months for you to work in it, you have only two people for staff, a basic set of lights only able to light small interior places, a couple of actors, some locations (houses of friends of the producer, basically) and they give you to choose a camera HDV of any kind, of up to $10,000 dollars in value, at this stage you can´t buy or use any complements or extras for the camera, like optical lenses, filters, etc.
Now, which camera would you pick and why?
I have a couple of propositions, would you pick anyone of them or would you go with another.

Just wondering if you could create a tuto for growing flame or electricity generated from the hands like in heroes or so, thought about using a combination of camera focus [Through AE] a bit of slow motion and inks from riot gear to make the flame from hands effect, Altho would suck that it isnt in real time.
