After Precomposing the Bevel Profile and adding the gray solid with the CC Glass effect, there is a square around my text. It appears to also have the inner glow bevel. How do I get rid of this?

I wonder: if it is my first time trying after effects an all this new stuff, the old tutorials with the old versions of adobe after effects just as efective with the latest AE? would be nice to see the old tutorials with the latest version of AE, because if I know nothing about it I will only be confused with the old versions, or is it that this website is only for old users?

Do not see much reply on a lot of question but understandable cuase if we buy things we are on our own to solve all issue. I am very new to this world nad never ever done any 3D before. Do not even know how to use After Effects even i have Adboe subscription, but like to try out. So found out MO2 vs Element 3D. Which one will be better with iMac i9 Vega Pro 48 ? I am just start using FCPX and still learning. Do not know anyting aobut Motion too. So thinking to buy And Element 3D Ultra Package or MO2. THings are not cheap so like to buy only one and stick to it. Which one should i go ? If possible need suggestion or advice from experices with both MO2 and Element 3D.

The project downloads are at the top on the right of the video, right next to the link to download the tutorial. I don't believe he ever gives you an .aex file as you would create that yourself

I'm Following the toutorial' So far everything went fine until I got to the stage where I had to use the roughen effect. I used the same values in the effect and even played with them a bit but couldn't get the same result as the video.In my project it appears as a straight line with blurry edges. I think you could use a slider control on your source text then a little code to punch out decimal points. And do the rest normally.

Try slowing down the video. I slow it down to .75 and sometimes .50 to make sure I see everything he's doing.

Followed the tutorial, but whenever I rotate the "Slice" layer, the Force Center on all of the particle layers doesn't follow the Point Control exactly. For example, if I use 35 degree rotation on "Slice" the particle layers are skewed the particles spawn from the opposite direction. I have doublechecked all the expressions and don't see anything wrong. What should I do next?

At 14 minute mark, where you apply the third Set matte and it leaves you with just the "scar". For me I still see the number and when I unsolo the layer, the only thing I see is the "scar"

I have fond the way to solve this question. Firstly changing Blending Mode in solid composite effect to another selection,Then change it back to Normal.This way can help you to do next step.

I am at position 20:00 in the Crossfire tutorial and when I alt-click on color to slice"color" linking tint and Saber which provides the option too change color options on "Slice" layer I keep getting a warning 'effect disabled' notice. I have repeated reviewing the tutorial just to make sure I am not missing anything and was making such good progress. How can I overcome and solve this issue?

Check your color settings in your project and adjust the color depth. Some effects only work with 8bpc. Thats the only thing I can think of.
In your project window, in between the composition button and trash button you can adjust you bpc there as well. Hope that helps!

I think you haven't colorized both of the black and the white from the tint effect of the Particle Sparks. Oh and don't forget to pick whip both of them to the Color Expression Control in the "SLICE" layer. After that, when you apply the Shift Channel effect on the Glow Adjustment Layer and change it to Saturation, it will work, and the sparks particles is there. Hope it helps

I was working on this project last night, and everything was fine, opened it up today and have this thin blue x (matching the color of my laser beam) through the whole thing, what could this be? It's even thinly on my type comp? And there are not even any effects other than curves and radial blur on the second text copy.

Spent some time with this one. Masterfully edited tutorial with a lot packed into 40 minutes! I had a problem with the CC Glass effect shifting the image slightly laterally, so that when I tried to use the bevel profile as a track matte it left a strange cutout artifact. Really spent a lot of time trying to find out what was causing it and finally had to make another copy of the bevel profile to use as a matte and shift it in the same direction to compensate. I didn't find any effect parameters in CC Glass that would allow you to control a lateral shift, and I am hoping someone here could suggest what I missed. Still this project came out looking sweet. Thanks for all you do and I wish you would bring your live show to Toronto I would buy tickets the day it was announced!
