TUTORIAL NOTES:
Technical Rendering Note: I’ve heard some people having issues with Fractal Noise not rendering correctly and I think you need to disable GPU Acceleration for the Project. File>Project Settings, “Mercury Software Only”. Hope that helps!

I want to use this tutorial but have it do the glitch transition for four separate words. For example one glitches to two, two glitches to three, and three glitches to four. I essentially want to make a sentence using the glitch tutorial. How would I do this?

I'm actually about to use it and i have an idea. Once you've created the main comp with one transition, just duplicate it in the project to however many transitions you need and switch the words accordingly, overly them all in one new comp and manipulate transparency to make them 'one'.hehe This is what i haven't done yet lol but i think it'll work

I am from ARGENTINA and I have been following the tutorials for a very short time, despite all this in English I manage: I download the videos and the trips pausing in every action that Andrew does. Occasionally I get stuck in some mandrills that give me a totally different result than Andrew gives me either due to a lack of resources on my PC (GPU, AGILE PROSESADORES, ETC ETC.) AS WELL AS THE difference in AF and your updates. so far the results are not the same but it leaves you with a variety of things that help us to continue expanding our understanding of Ae much more.
without further ado I leave this as insentivation and in total thanks to ANDREW for sharing their Tutorials.

When adding "Fractal noise 2" on displace map. I have a problem with fractal noise still seen in animation no matter if the brightness is -200. Youtube from 9 min forward. Overflow (Clip), Blending mode (Screen)

could you use this to blur out a face in an iconic way? I'm thinking that would be cool. Like having it go back and forwards as blocks of colour over a face?

Thanks for the awesome tutorial! I have a quick q. I would like to use this effect to animate in a shape layer but I can't solve a problem - when I replace the text layer with a square, for example, the square is on screen from frame one, then it goes through the glitch effect and reassembles as the square but to the right. If I import a square from AI it does the same - square/glitch/square in new position. If I make no other changes but add in a new text layer it animates in correctly ie frame one there is nothing on-screen/glitch/text on screen. How can we get this to work for shapes?

As somebody who is brand new to after effects, I have to say.. You talk way too fast dude, and you tend to skim over things newbies may not catch. I got about halfway through the video, and despite following your instructions, my product was looking VERY different from yours.

I'm attempting this effect on 3D text. As I get a close up shot of the effect on the text with a camera the displacement map is cutting off the side of the text that the glitch is coming from. This doesn't happen on the 2D version. Would anyone have a solution for this?

Toggling the repeat edge pixel up in the fast box blur just ripped everything on my screen. It changed form having the words that were readable to plenty of lines horizontally. Can anyone tell why? And how to fix it?

Thanks,Andrew!This tutorial is very useful!I want to know how to make the text have other colors, such as red, but produce blue glitch.When I give the text a color, the color will be overwritten by of Colorama.

Set channels doesnt worked fine for me at the end for giving glow to that red part 
I did the same Its also selecting red edges of the text a little bit with that red colour . So on giving glows next it also give cringy glow to borders and its looking ugly . Any alternate method to select that red part ?

Love the tutorial! I'm have a slight problem though...as I turn down the brightness of the fractal noise, it does completely go black no matter how far I take the numbers, so you can see the specs of the animation before it actually begins. Is there something in the settings that I could adjust? Or is there a solution? Thank you!

I want to have my text be a color that is not white but then the glow affects the text layer also. I want to color my text layer and the glow to affect only the glitch part, how do I do that?

Hi, this works well, expect I cannot achieve Glitch effect which is perfectly horizontal?! And Fractal Noise effect gets bit distortion, cannot find that clean block effect!

What if I want the glow to be on during the glitch, but i don't want it on the title when it is not glitching and I want the letters to be a color other than white?

I have watched this over and over and over again but can't get it right. The glitch effect is stationary for a second before coming into motion after clicking "U" on the keyboard and moving the brightness key frames over under the map. This starts at 17:30.

Nice easy effect. Question...When I add a box blur the Displacement Map becomes fine lines except when blur radius is set to 0.0

This effect was used on a 'SKY TV' advertisement for the UK Premier League!!! they didn't even replace the floor just added their logo and text, etc... lazy

I was unable to blend fractal noise instances. Setting the second Fractal Noise effect to Clip and Screen simply eliminated the first instance of Fractal Noise. It did not blend.

Great tutorial! I have a quick question. When I duplicate the glitch comp after making it 3D, only one of the layers is visible (around the 21:00 mark). Anyone knows how to solve that issue? Thank you so much!!

Hi Andrew. I love your totorials.But I am Chinese and it is very difficult to fully understand your teaching.
I know it's not practical to teach you subtitles in Chinese, but I would be more than happy to buy your product if your introduction included Chinese.

When I add the effect Set channels and change it to luminance, my alpha doesn't change, it still stays solid white. Any ideas how to fix this?
