HELP ANDREW! Im using cs5 and it is screwing up alot.After i made the lines, i tryed to use the stroke thing you showed, but nothing happened.And also, the lines are just a bunch of dots.When i double click theres a big rectangle and they switch into regular lines.

i was doing this tutorial and when i was at the part of randomizing the masks at 15 minutes it suddenly stopped showing things it only show my bg and [auto traced title] even when i spammed crtl z it didnt fix it what went wrong and how i fix that? i dont want to start all over

hey andrew i downloaded the project files and it is not giving me the riot gear image-Paper 07 it's only giving me three is there something i can do to get the image 7 (i am quite new to after effects so i dont know much about it thanks)- love ur tutorials.

i just wanted to post cause i never have b4 but i just wanted to say u are hilarious and u make the greatest tutorials! the only thing is that i cant watch any other after effects tutorials not cause video copilot is TOO awesome! thanks for this one! and i have optical flares and i was watching the promo video and was wondering if u could make a tutorial for the like light room thing...like there was a bunch of gold lights that looked like stadium lights and it looked really cool! if u could that would be great! thanks man!

Brilliant tutorial.
Ok I worked out how to make the 'mask lines' show in Adobe After Effects CS5.
1. click the layer
2. click masks
3. click 'shape...' (it should be right of 'Mask Path'
4. MAKE SURE THAT THE 'RESET TO' TICKBOX IS CHECKED

The Auto Tracing makes the masks usually select the O's 1st for some reason, but if you open up the layer properties in the timeline you can make your Title actually reveal itself when you animate the stroke in any way you want just by reordering them in the timeline.

The artwork took me 2 hours to complete (excluding the usual back and forth with my client on minor alterations) as opposed to what might have been a day or two.

Incredible tutorial using methods I didn't know existed in AE but will definitely use in the future. BTW, I just ordered Action Essentials 2 for some fx shots I'll be creating for my first full-length movie motion-graphics gig. Gotta say I wouldn't have gotten that job without all I've learned on this site. Keep up the great, informative work.

I've been watching your tutorials for over a month now. Just wanted to thank you for the great support. Without your fast and funny tutorials I would fall a sleep at my work,.. because they have no work for me. So now I can watch your tutorials and get paid for it.

Hi there,
Andrew, i havn't found the white pencil but i found something better (i think) a concrete pencil !!! http://www.objetdujour.com/index.php/2007/07/26/155-crayon-en-beton
Maybe it can be used to write notes or maybe with a "Boring" client that don't understand your creative sense and open him his he.., his mind ?! ^^

Thank you Andrew! Great tutorial as always . But there`s one little thing you use in every tutorial, but never say about it. I meaning that useful hotkey for toggling your "video" window to fullscreen and back. Please say, what this magical key. I searched it by myself but without success.

Mate thank-you so much for all the time and thoroughness you have incorporated into your tutorials. I am an acting student in Australia and these tutorials are great for taking the presentational quality of my work to that next level of awesome. I won't disclose the locations but I'll zip up a bunch (same unit same equipment) if you want to try it (I'd even allow distribution in project files). Just think of the possibilities. Big explosions - big fire - big show. Let me know.

What kind of hardware are you using Andrew? Im using a MBP 2,2 C2D 2Gb ram and when im adding some effects, the preview rendering is goind so damn slow.

Man you are almost 100 tutorials
i have a questions, all those effects, it's a vfx world... but why dont you come up with some camera or how to make the ideal shot for some effects like greenscreen or matrix style...
i dont know, i just wonder so much how to set up my camera and and other things (helpers/markers) for tracking for a good vfx shot and then a tutorial on how to make it real in post productions
i would like to hear a respond, dont kill me

in this one, but still very qood tutorial...

Hey,
Quite a long tutorial for that little effect. Andrew is making a fast run to no100. I think anyone could have done this, without the tutorial.
But still learned some things. I didn't know it was possible to mask a line, and the randomized order of the masks. Its a quite easy trick, why couldn't I have thought about that!

I have just one question,do u really think of what to say when doing tutorials or u do it on paper and then read it as you are making tutorial,cuz' your jokes are like briliant and im watching your tutorials for 2 reasons, one is amazing after effects tutorials and other is amazing humor and coolnes you have.

Blue Print title tutorial is well explained with plenty of detail. OK no explosions, which is suprising considering the fresh stock footage release, but still engaging.
