Hi, I'm new at using Adobe After Effects but hoping to use some of these effects in my final short film for college. Excuse me for asking this but, does the font texture/extra options for detail included in Adobe or is that exclusive? Thanks.

Quick question? Ive rendered a fire bolt striking an alter on an mountain top. The alter then explodes (done in Cinema 4d) I am using your listening in the clouds as a background. In the foreground I have a bit of a rocky foreground element that I have knocked all the colour out of. What I want to know is how can I make the foreground light up from the lighting in the clouds? I hope that makes sense? I want the ground (just a .PNG with transparency set for the top half) to get the lighting from the lightening in the clouds?

Tried following the tutorial, but stuck when I try to convert the texture into a 3d layer, I cannot flip it, it just gives me the option to move it around.

Why is it when I put in exactly the numbers I see on screen, I get different results? My lightning looks really blown out, and I lose the vertical streaks on the street when I pause the video and copy your numbers in directly. I could see this being the case if I used a different background image, but I'm not. Can anyone help me with this? It's not the only video I've had this experience with, either.

Spent loads of time making everything in the second portion of the video go to add a song so it would react to my music and boom everything goes damn after effects went and froze and did not respond I lost everything so many times that has happened to my in the course of my life just when everything was looking so good aswell awesome tut

I am having issue when I add in the Solid Composite effect, and then the exposure effect, it lightens up my entire frame. It doesn't appear to do that in your demo...something I am doing wrong?

Hi Andrew, I have a question. With the lightning in the clouds, how can you affect how it is blinking? Mine is blinking really fast (3-5 times per sec) and it does not look so good. What if I want it to blink like 1 time per 3 sec? Thanks for help.

Thank you so much for that Jurassic Park/ Back To The Future mashup. My two all time favorite movies! Now if you somehow sneaked some Goonies in there, it would have been a trifecta!
Also, the tutorial was good... I guess.
Seriously though, these tutorials you put out are extremely invaluable. The amount of knowledge about After Effects I learned in a year of watching these videos is incredible. Before I found Video Copilot, After Effects was an inapproachable mess of confusion and frustration. This has been the only source I have found so far that completely took all of that away and broke down the software into more palatable bits. If you aren't creating some of the top Visual Effects artists of the future, then I'd be very surprised!
Also, the tutorial was good... I guess.

I have learned SO MUCH from you and I use much of the knowledge for my astrophysics courses. You are so generous with tutorial project files to use. I use them to learn more about AF. OMG! That Cloud thing, That's so Cool.. Always wanted to this and have a spaceship emerge through the clouds. Like Independence Day Or Close Encounters but having the Spaceship Pushing the clouds away drove me crazy so i quitedit..
