During the evolution of the water surface, black holes open up in the "water." The same happens when I perform the z-axis camera move. Am I doing something wrong?
Linda

I had that happen too, and when it animated, more black holes showed up in the foreground. I went back into the "displacment Map" settings for the adjustment layer and turned down the Max Horizontal and Max Vertical Displacement. That fixed it for me. Very nice tutorial - I always learn something new.

Help! Every time I try to adjust the levels for the displacement map, instead of creating the water effect, it just moves the cloud layer! What is going on?

Travis, when you first pre-compose the fractal noise layer to avoid the moving effect that you described, be sure to select "Move All Attributes."
I Had the same problem but i just watched through again and saw what i did differently.

everytime I try to distort the water map layer, it just moves the cloud layer horizontally and vertically, why is this happening? I have created the adjustment layer, added in the Distort<displacement map, selected the Water Map, and when I distort horizontal/vertical, it just moves the clouds.

Hey Shadownian,

I'm guessing your problem is your Displacement Map. I'd try setting either the "Max Horizontal Displayer"/"Max Vertical Displace" lower.

Anyways, great tut Kramer--enjoyed it.

OK for one...love this and all your tutorials. Never learned so much from somebody who cracked me up so much...lol

That bieng said Ive had a major prob with this tutorial. No matter what I do the edge of the water closets towards the camera always shows the black underneath the wave when they ripple. Ive tried bringing the camera forward more...up more...etc. Tried stretching the water out further from the edge along with other resizing and nothing seems to work....maybe just some bug or cause my vc isnt rendering it quick enough for it to show right? Idk...havent actually fully rendered it to see if it was in the final product or not.
But anyway ty again

Hello Andrew. You are truly gifted with clarity and a smooth flow that is fun and understandable to follow. I have been in the media and film area for years but I have never been directed in this direction until now. I've looked through many websites in the last 2 weeks and none are able to compare with your clarity. Thank you so much! I am hooked and I know now that this is what I was meant to do as well.

I look forward to all the rest of your tutorials and most of all I look forward to showing you some of the ideas that have been locked up in my head for years. You kind of unleashed my wish into a reality. Wow! Thanks again.
