I'm very interested in this preset - and downloaded it. But I'm using After Effects CC and when I copied the file into the pre-sets folder, it didn't pop up in After Effects, and I'm wondering if its because its too old for this new version?

Thank you for the tutorials! I am brand new to After Effects and am often dumbfounded by how complicated some effects can be. Also the preset is great as well. I was terribly worried that creating a lightsaber would take too long and I would just give up!

Just a thought (I'm a baby noob at AE, just did your basic training course), is it possible to use the Keying effect to take out the saber?
Like, Get the green screen to replace the background. And then spray paint a cardboard saber bright red and remove the bright red to an inverted alpha channel mask?

hey great tutorial, but when i put the effects into the presets folder it doesnt work. its probably because i have afx 8 (cs3). is there a preset for this or should it be working?

Hi,
I tried to use your presets in AE 7, but my Vista won't let me so I tried it with the newest version CS4, but there I have a missing effect and the lightsaber will become really big (no chance to configure it right because of the missing effect). You don't have any version for CS4 or at least for CS3?
By the way you did a great job with this lightsabers, I just have to get this effects!

i also have many missing effects.same as jason
i still have the new blank/solid white layer ontop and video under it i go add the effect and nothing appears not even the Saber effect but the effects settings on the left have many effects settings missing. ??

Thanks for all your help online...but I have a problem. I downloaded your presets and put them in the preset folder. When I went to use the lightsaber effect the saber control area says Missing:Saber_Control and the saber does not appear on the screen. What do I do?

andrew you are so cool and very thanx but i have one problem i have done everything you do but as i play the movie as i have cleared is my lightsaber faster than what i am showing on the movie clip plz help me its so pretty cool

"Where do I put the presets?" - Heres an answer for you guys.Video Copilot even has a demo on where to put the presets...otherwise copy and paste them in the plug-ins folder.
Please watch the vid Andrew made especially for inserting these presets. Yes it's in the free preset download section. Just remember after you paste them into the plug in folder, you need to restart AE.(AFTER EFFECTS)
