I've been trying to pick apart the expression for this. I can't figure out how to have it wiggle on one vector. More specifically I'd like it to wiggle or oscillate on the y value.

Oh, by the way, I really want a particle effect, but the default one doesn´t allow me to do it in 3d, at least I am not being able to do it, and I would like to know if there is a good one to download that is free, I know the cc particle world but its expensive for me, so... I would appreciate if you could respond me to my e-mail if possible

Im very sad! and angry! and mad! :s the preset 3D orbit its doesnt work!!! i work with Mac pro, the instalation of the preset its very easy, but in after effects, when i go to add the effects 3D orbit to mi object null its make me error! and this happen with all presets DAMN!!!! :SSSSSSSSSS please help me

Great tut! I found as you decrease the particle gravity (deeper into the minus range) you get more of an underwater bubble effect.

To Everybody who has the Error after trying to active the Orbit Preset for the Null Object.
Thats because your Version thats currently running is not the english version. It has to be the english version because else the expressions are different and the preset cannot be activated.

wow! you are incredibly amazing!! i'm kinda new on adobe after effects, thanks to your very cool and very informative BASIC TRAINING TUTS, now i have a clearer view on what are the possibilities of AE. ive been using photoshop for 4 years now for doing graphic designs, ive just thought "why not try something new? how about motion graphics!" why not?!

About changing the language in the presets. I have tried to change the code as suggested by some friends here, but I get an error "unexpected file end error (-39). I used TexEdit to edit the file. Should I use another application? Thanks for yours help

Loved it, i got recomended here by OrcMan2, he says he has exchanged emails with you for quite a while and said this was a good starting point after After Effects 101 but i would reccommend making a new basics tutorial

if I try to select the preset, it says for installations which I don't have. Are there any plugins I need to download?

The answer is probably very simple guys!
I had the same problem of the preset ,but i fixed it!
It was because my after effects is in german ,so all the effects are in german ,too , but the preset needs the english sliders!
So what you have to change:
This the expression from the preset:
Radius = effect("Radius"("Slider//HERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED INTO YOUR LANGUAGE!"
Speed = effect("Speed"("Slider//HERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED INTO YOUR LANGUAGE!"
RotationOffset = effect("Rotation Offset"("Angle//HERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED INTO YOUR LANGUAGE!"

center = [this_comp.width/2,this_comp.height/2,0];
radius = 200;
angle = time * Speed + RotationOffset;
x = Radius * Math.cos(degreesToRadians(angle));
z = Radius * Math.sin(degreesToRadians(angle));
add(center, [x,0,z]);
my expression now would look like this:

I have the same problem as Alvaro Figueroa when I put the preset on the particle point, a popup window appears with this message: the class 'efects' dont have any property even method with the name 'slider' expression disable.
What can I do?
