Why are you still selling v1, with v2 coming out in 2 days, especially with no clear guidance on if the person will receive a free upgrade with the new version? Please stop selling it as it feels kind of shady, like Apple does when selling 2 year old Mac Pros on their site as "New" with existing pricing.

As a C4D user I am so excited and can't wait. Excellent job.
Can this guy just STOP complaining and appreciate something good? It doesn't matter if older or oldest versions of E3D are still on the website. You buy what you want to buy. Post comments or critics that will help these guys be better.

Price Schmice! No matter the cost, it will be well worth it considering the Videocopilot track record of invaluable knowledge and tools.

Don't be a fanboy. Cost is a major consideration. The Foundry has a huge track record of "invaluable knowledge and tools", moreso than Video Copilot, however they've priced themselves out of competition with Nuke. lastly, why is Video Copilot STILL selling the old version as of today without clear guidance if the person will receive a free upgrade to v2 when it comes out in 2 days. They should stop selling v1 immediately. It seems very shady.

The cost of Nuke is right where it should be. It's not for kiddy compositors playing about in their bedrooms, it's for film professionals. The price reflects the amount of R&D;that has goes into and the toolkit that it possesses.

Why on Earth would they not sell Element 1? What about people who might need it for a project but need to deliver before v2 comes out.

Hi Andrew,

Will the new version allow an easier way to align imported obj files with a rendered and tracked version of the same scene?
Just asking as the World Position Matte would allow me to create interesting transitions between one pass and another.

PLEASE HELP:

I'm building a new PC for After Effects, Premiere and HDR (batch)photo processing work.

I really want to get into using Element 3D v2 now since it's absolutely fantastic.

I need help with choosing a GPU. My system will have i7 5960x, 32gb ddr4 ram, ssd for AE cache and Raid0 hdd for storage.

What GPU does VIDEOCOPILOT recommend to me? Preferably under $300. But if more than 300, please explain how much benefit is there to it.

if you go further down, Anrew (or his surrogate) specify that E3Dv2 will be priced accordingly, so I don't think it will be a free upgrade. Why should it be anyway? It's a new revamped product with lots of R&D;.

Hi Andrew,

Grats on yet another really nice project even it's not released yet. I want to jump in but I am figuring out if I should wait until Dec 2 or buy 1.6 now?

Another suggestion to implement would be the support for substance designer shaders http://www.allegorithmic.com/ this will add some more interactive controls over the shaders you can publish from this amazing piece of software.

No, this plug-in replaces it. But you can install old version if you want.

Some piece of secret was released - upgrade from 1 to 2 is under 200$. It's A W E S O M E news, i have to repeat it AWESOME! Now i have a plane. 50$ for textures, and circa about 200$ for Andrew. Thank You, Thank You!

Pumped for V2. I noticed it supports OpenCL.. is it designed to rip on the new MacPro (dual D700s)?

Doing a 3D logo animation for a client that needs reflections. Brutally, the deadline is tomorrow. This plugin is not tomorrow.

With unknown price for E3D v2 is problem - black friday is for 2 days. My budget is 250$ - how much i can use for 3d models and textures (VIZPEOPLE has 50% discount, like other companies too, and i need 2D people actually), and what i should left for E3D v2 upgrade? 50$? 100$? 150$? ...Info about E3D v2 without price is problem for me. I have no chance to get 250$ every month for bundles, models, textures, software...freelancers in east europe and many,many other countries have to use very detailed BUDGET PLANNING every month. I hope there is chance to get price in next 2 days Greetings

There are a lot of people that have asked the same thing but it is always met with just silence. Looks like just waiting till Monday (or Tuesday) is the only option. Makes it difficult to plan but truthfully there is nothing else out there as effective and awesome so we are stuck with the wait.

Andrew, I understand how it goes. I was executive management for software development companies for over 15 years before quitting it all and moving to LA to be a Storyteller. I LOVE your products, I love what they can do and I am amazed at your ability to not only identify the need but develop the training around them to make them useful immediately.

Thank you for everything that you and your team do and now that I have an under $200 price range I have the ability to do what I need to do this weekend and pick up some great deals on other items.

If I can weigh in on the pricing issue ....
In what I have seen so far, I see a giant leap forward in capability. In this new "Black Friday" world we live in, there are still those top quality products out there that cost more money to buy than "Made In China" stuff.
This is as much an investment in our future as it is a short-term "dazzle" tool.
For those who can, consider what you're dropping in coffee shops and bars, and then you might just thank VC for this work and offering.

Hello Martin,

When you buy E3D V1, you can install it on 2 computers, if you are the only one user. I hope it will be the same for V2.

Can't wait for this! I mainly been using Adobe illustrator paths in solids to make all the logos in Element. Would love to see a tutorial when V2 drops of taking Illustrator files (Logos) and bringing them into C4D and then to E3D with materials in place.

Just save the AI file as version 8 (outlines only), place the outline(s) into an extrude object. Save it then import into Element. Done.

Awesome!!!! Any news on the pricing for upgrading from v.1 to v.2??? Black friday is coming and I got my eye on a music pack BUT my budget is limited and really want Element v.2 but also that one time offer on the music pack hahaha. Please let us know the pricing before friday

We added MTL import support for OBJ files in the first look video. This will allow you to import textures for OBJ files automatically.

woooooaaahh! I might never have to bother delving into C4D again now. Learnt the basics 3 times but without real projects to use it on I keep forgetting most of it. All those models I never got round to using are all in my AE arsenal again! For me, this is my favourite new feature!

I hope you guys did some bridge for non C4D users, so people who uses MODO, BLENDER and etc, can make a real use of ELEMENT V2. I mean since CINEWARE is native to AE, that would be real smart from you.

Excited about the C4D love. Now I kind of wish the material tray in C4D looked as sexy as it does in E3Dv2. Will there be a C4D version of Pro Shaders 2 again as well?

Thanks! For the Pro Shaders, probably not on launch day but we will see how much work it is to convert the physical shaders. We'd love to get them working as well!

I can???t wait. Quick question, can an MTL file carry subsurface scattering information? Meaning if my object had SSS implemented in a 3d application, will E3d be able to identify it and apply it on import? Or will SSS need to be applied on import regardless?
