Hey Andrew;

The Jet Strike Pack is cool "But".... if you guys could make a Helicopter pack... THAT.. would blow everyone's minds!! I have been looking all over hells half acres for a realistic Ah-60/UH60 but there just isn't any good ones out there.

I think with the complexity to download other Helicopter BlackHawk 3d Models; (have to rig them in separate groups and all the hassle) it would be an instant sell if you guys could make a Helicopter Pack. "That" would bring in your Diaper $$$ lol

is it possible to import new planes into Jetstrike? There's all sorts of places to buy CGI/3D planes that are .obj or other file types. And some are riggable. Would be cool if raising and lowering the gear etc is possible with 3rd party planes.

Hi Andrew

We spoke ages ago when Video CoPilot was first launching. I lecture AE, PP etc around the world and have a VFX and CG company in Cape Town South Africa.
I am having issues with JetPack. I just cannot get the texture maps onto the models, either on the thumbnail previews or when I choose to work with any. All my other packs are fine beside Jetpack.
Still using tried and tested 10.6.8

Hey guys,
I'm new in this forum and new in VC. Can someone tell me as newbie where to start? I just shot a short action movie (war) as a school project and need the jet strike and other plugins to edit my school movie.
Secondly, I am a student and do not have enough cash.

Before I start converting one of the textures myself - I wanted to see if anyone has already released a 747 skin that has no markings. This would be so a completely custom look could be created. The closest match is _01_c.jpg, but it has the tail marking.

Or, (to Andrew or someone at VC), is there an unmarked version that can be released? Even if it is in an update.

I have a small problem, I moved my folder with all the models to a other drive, but now the browser can not find the folder anymore so I can not see any models in this browser window. I have try to relink but I'm sure to which folder I have to link it to. Anyone????

These sky maps are licensed from www.cgskies.com and they are the best around. Maybe you need some help using them? How are you trying to work with them? Remember they are skies so they represent everything above the horizon.

Airbus, 737-800 and 777 would have been nice.

Big problem without shadows anyway...
I know it's slow but video games have shadows, so...
I hope E3D 2.0 will have fast and slow shadows solutions.
Maybe a cast shadow pass only, or maybe a "render to texture" function to have a basic static shadow remaped on the object could be a solution.

I would definetly add the F-5 Tiger II and the Grumman F-14 TomCat, Both are free on the web, but they are UV Layed out unproperly for Element, and not rigged for it, but they have pretty good detail and mantain almost same amount of Geometry Element 3D packs have. I qould add them so we could do the Top Gun Sequel, What do you think of it???

They are awesome for sure. Still, I'm paying and it's hardly charity. Multiply $200 x 1 million downloads. Give or take. Yea, it's cheaper than turbosquid but that's part of their marketing strategy because they have such a big community. I appreciate VC. They do fantastic work but they aren't starving. I think we can demand more. Don't forget AK often listens so this is how he can satisfy his customers.

I'm rather disappointed that the heat distortion plugin is only sold with the Flight Kit! In my line of work, I don't need jet sounds or aerial explosions. But the heat distortion plugin would be great for motion graphics just like your Jet Strike title in the demo).

Any chance of this being released separately?

well , i dun mean to be mean but .. i got an idea and afraid you might just ignore it or something , but i`ll give it a shot anw

andrew you been working on rigged 3d models in many random ways that makes it useful gudamn much ... the idea here is ... how about you make an option or a plugin , that fits in every single 3d program like 3dmax and maya etc. , and what that program does is like saving a part that the designer rigged to be like a " preset " for that 3d model so later i could use this option in after effects ...

i mean if this option could be down , for damn sure your plugin will be needed by millions .. ! .... big love here from middle east man " egypt "

It really grates against my soul how people just demand, demand, demand and are actually so rude to Andrew and the team. As he says, for this ridiculously high quality for such a ridiculously low price is nothing short of charity.
The work the guys at VC do isn't just to make money, you can tell they have a passion for making VFX accessible to people. They're bringing their passion to the masses.
In the ninth grade, I'd mean spending a lot of my spare time experimenting with making films when I stumbled across AE and VC. Because of he accessibility and charity of Andrew, I'm going on next year to do an Animation and Motion Capture course full time at university, and I absolutely cannot wait. This website has helped me experiment with it, and realise that it is actually something I adore and want to do for the rest of my life.
I would like to personally thank Andrew and everyone at VC, for not only helping me realise my passion, but for bringing it to the rest of the world with such love. You're shaping the next generation of VFX artists.

Well said Josh. I've been following VideoCopilot since they began. If it wasn't for them, I would have gone into a different major (and would probably be miserable right now). Now I have graduated college with a film degree, got a job right out of school and am currently working as a Producer/Editor/Motion Graphics Designer at a production house (and doing freelance on the side).

You can just load them directly into the environment slot inside the Element 3D UI. It's faster to load it here once, using a custom layer from AE requires reloading of the map for every frame.

How do you add the flames to the exhaust of the Jets?
Also can you provide the PSD files of the aircraft skins, as editing the livery of the planes is impossible, due to the rivets and bolts etc are part of the flat jpgs?

They don't seem to load into the environment slot, and I can't use them as the diffuse on an environment sphere. They are grayed out regardless of how I try to open them. I'm sure an explanation tut is forthcoming...

After Effects has a built-in CC Environment. Just apply that effect to the image and drop it below your Element layer. It recognizes cameras too!

Use HDR in luminance slot not environment. Coz u want them to emmit the lights to use as GI.

We included the 4K JPG versions of the sky maps, those can be loaded directly into Element 3D.

Are the cockpits big enough to put a camera in them to get POV shots? If I get this I was thinking about making some cockpits in Blender.

So, I love the pack. But....Where is the F14 Tomcat? Thats like, the most recognizable jet in history!
Wouldn't hurt to have the B2 Bomber in there either.

The f-14 was retired 8 years ago. Most of these jets, except for the f-117 are still used in active duty

I would like to see more jets in the pack, or maybe an airshow pack, with teams like the blue angels, thunderbirds, snowbirds, etc... Or some more military craft. Maybe the F-18G, F-15E,

@Martin Yes, Iran does still have some flyable f-14's But I haven't heard of any that are still combat ready. (I could be wrong since I don't live in Iran or fly for them)I do know that Iran only ordered 80 f-14s. Some are already gone and either destroyed, or unflyable. And the US suspended all sales of spare parts to Iran. So they won't be doing any repairs soon. The last news I heard of them using a Tomcat was early last year. A tomcat took off, then crashed right away, killing both members.

still fooling around with the rigging, landing gear up, landing gear down, haha. It's way to fun and fast! I only miss some tutorials like the skymaps how to use them. I feel like a noob now just playing with the models :-S
You should include some tuts in your packs. Oh And those explosions!!! AMAZING! how about action essentials 3 with fume FX???

That many well constructed models ready to go in E3D for that price is a great deal. I will have to wait for a bit to take advantage though as my budget is very tight right now. Seriously though, very generous software package.

Wait a sec, is that a tripod?
The last screen with the ship is nice, animation of the first plane failed at the end (to quick) and twixtor failed you on the slow motion part, to much glitch.

Solomon - you can add any OBJ model you wish to E3D. Once imported, you have to "relink" the materials/textures and then save as a model preset. It's super easy. But you're not gonna find rigged jets like these to use in E3D.
