Video Copilot Closing it's Doors...

Video Copilot started over 4 years ago in my bedroom and transitioned into a 1-room office suite. After a few years of we have decided to close our doors... for about 20 minutes :)

So that we can reopen at a new location more suited for creative freedom.

As much as I dislike moving, I'm looking forward to the new office and studio space. It's no ILM but there are a few offices and a nice space for filming and even a greenscreen. We'll be moving this weekend and start at the new location on Monday.

The truth is, Video Copilot has grown to over 30% in the last 3 months and we have no intention of going anywhere! Besides there is still soda in the fridge.

Not to mention a few extra copies of the most amazing collection ever made:
Action Essentials 2

I almost died when I read the you were closing. It is like your kid calling and saying they were in an accident. You are so angry and terrified, but you are so happy they are ok(in this case not really leaving) you can't stay mad. Good one Andrew...good one.

I must admit it did worry me. You guys deserve to do well and I expect it. Congratulations on the expansion. My own family is in the VFX business in Marina del Rey, and I know what it's like. They started with a credit card and some great fluid dynamics software. They too are more than surviving. As we say in Aspen..."Go for it guys."

I want to personally thank Andrew for nearly giving me a heart attack this afternoon. I've been a fan of Video Copilot for years and the thought of it no longer existing was enough to make me sick. You can NEVER close your doors, or your fans'll find you.

Andrew, of course we all love the free tutorials, but I think the most essential thing of VideoCopilot is/are the fun/jokes, which creates a smile on every visitor here. If VideoCopilot every closes its stoors (which is a shame), you can always read through this, what I call, a 'joke' and have a thought about the old times of copilot.

As a Delta Air Lines jet was flying over Arizona on a clear day, the copilot was providing his passengers with a running commentary about landmarks over the PA system.

"Coming up on the right, you can see the Meteor Crater, which is a major tourist attraction in northern Arizona. Congratulations Andrew and all the team there at Video Copilot. I've been hanging around this site for years and tutorials aside I find the energy & passion surrounding VCP to be the biggest influence on my work.

I've worked alone for the last few years and Andrew Kramer has been my co-colleague on all my After Effects projects!

I read the title and screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo" as if I was getting my spleen ripped out of my body. (off topic, what the heck is a spleen? :s lol)

Then I read the rest of the post and cried beautiful tears of joy.

20 minutes is still a pain, just don't let it happen again and we'll stay friends lol can't wait to see what you'll be able to come up with in the new upgraded office!!!!!

Well , you know i propose that you do a short film about leaving the old office since you're not doing any ones except for tutorials.
So maybe ,you know, after putting off the bagages, put a Bomb on the fridge , then you link up the door with something that when you pull off make the door open so everythin blow , and somehow Sam has an uncontrolable envy to drink a last first-office Soda haha , so you guys tryed to stop him but you couldn't, and then he opened the fridge and booooooooom !...

i think it will be great idea to do a short movie and keep it on your memories stuff

I should have guessed that you were messing with us. After a two part interview with John Dickinson, raving about the success of AE2 and the fact you're almost at the 100th tutorial... closing for good would seem really bad.
