We don't get much rain in Southern California but today it poured. Luckily I had my audio gear handy and I recorded a few high quality clips for your stormy productions.
Great sounds, I was searching for a good sound for my game. You guys just saved my 'end'. Thank you.

Great stuff. we appreciate. about the sound capturing device, what do you really reccomend. How good is an H4 ZOOM mic. thanks again.

Like a few others, I'd love to know what audio gear you're using and what software/techniques you're using to clean them up - is it just a basic EQ or what?

Why didn't I think of this??????
It's been raining in San Luis Obispo for 4 days straight....
Thank you for this awesome recording of the rain, I listened to them all and for a moment I felt as if I were there taking shelter from the rain...ok I'm gonna go P now...this is the effect these sounds have on the human body, good thing you didn't record a moaning woman right before that or I'd have a hard time to get a good aim and risk a flood

Those sounds are great. I'm interested in what you used to capture this audio as well, and how much you had to process it afterwards. Just for geekdoms sake of knowing.
I live in the same area as you bro.
Its pouring right now in Winchester

Thanks for the sfx, Andrew
LB - Sorry to hear about the drought & fires in Horesham, AU... I live near Horesham, UK and we've got more rain than we know what to do with - yet I still never think to record the damn stuff for my sfx! (It takes a man from sunny california to do it for me!)
19th com for the consecutive 2nd time

We've been in a drought for 12 years and now the worst bush fires ever killing 189 people and rising in Victoria, Australia.
I've just about forgotten what rain sounds like.
Thanks Andrew for the reminder
PS. The small rural city of Horsham where I live in Australia had its worst bush fire destroying 8 houses the local golf club and one business. The temperature reached 117 F. and wind gust 50mph.

ROFL @juul:
who asks a guy in SoCal to record sounds of tornadoes? wow..... nice try though. (hint: there aren't any tornadoes on either coast of the US)
Did you do something horrible in your youth and now you're trying to atone for it? If so, well done.
THANK YOU!!!

Great stuff. Makes me need to go to the bathroom when I listen, though...
Last week we released a promotional film for our new iPhone app: "Demon Cam"!
Watch Demon Cam Film
Much like our Demon Face Warp tutorial, this new app allows you to record a video and transform someone into a Demon of your choice. To help people learn to use the app, we created a film with a supernatural back-story and more importantly, a platform to create some fun visual effects. Before watching the behind the scenes, you should probably watch the short film first. Watch Demon Cam.
Now that the project is released, we are excited to share the behind-the-scenes video, outlining everything that went into creating the effects as well as the app design.
As planned we will be breaking down many of the VFX shots for complete Video Copilot tutorials over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for that!
