It hurts me to say this... not that much though. But the Promos are taking a little longer than expected. All I can say is that the products are still launching on or before May 20th 2008 along with the promos. Here is a quick screenshot for the Bullet promo video. I wish I had more to show... well I do but I can't, I would get fired.

Did you ever release a tut or shortcut on how to make the letters explode? I know of the modifiers in max, but not how to get the explode look or the decrumble thing from the Fringe logo (reversed eh?) tnx

I beg of you andrew...please give us tutorial on how you made the 3d letters explode...this technique would be very helpful and would provide a great fundamental of explosions and shattering of objects

Andrew.... The promo is slammin...I have purchased the The Bullet and love it. What are the chances of a look at your title plate sessions??? I am very grateful for everything you have done for the VFX community. I have purchased everything you've posted on your site so far and wouldn't hesitate to buy your titles from the bullet promo as well?

For those of you curious about the promo video....
I think it is cinema 4d. Explosion deformers over 3D text. Then, the clip is rendered out and time remapped in AE.... OR Keyed to pause on the explosion from within C4D.
At least this is how I would accomplish it.

AFAIK you may not have to pay fees to the customs (german Zoll), because what you get from VCP are DVD-ROM's, not Video-DVD's or music CD's.
It's a little difference for them.
As I received my 9 Pack Video Collection, I had not to pay any fees to the customs, only the import sales tax (Einfuhrumsatzsteuer) of 19% that was all.
They told me, that DVD-ROM's are not customable.
I'm looking forward to get the new products, looking very good.

Polyboost is a great add-on utility for 3dsmax. It gives you so much more control when modeling and will in many cases prove to be a huge time-saver. Just wondering Andrew, how long did/will it take you to render out the Bullet promo? Also, do you render using the computer stated in the FAQ section of this site (Intel C2D Q6800, etc)?
i tell you one thing iam not going to bed tonight ,iam grapping my sniper rifle and iam hunting the screen down and i build a small device to hit the f5 key every 3 seconds so when he upload the promo i;ll be the first one to shoot it down.

Hmm... I have Google Desktop with a World Clock application... But what is the name of the timezone you're using Andrew? So I can adjust it, and know the exact time you're following. It's kinda confusing, I'm in norway, and the time here is 06:36 AM... Thinking of going to bed...

Well the time differences are now confirmed... So it'll be 3 am by me when the dvd comes out. Well the promo is now really close to being release, some delays have come up causing it to be postponed until further notice, or he plans to launch it all at once...

I'd say it was mostly done in 3dstudiomax, the text and the floor... In the reflection of the explosion you can see real texture so this is the most likely case. The text is relecting the floor and casting shadows in the light so that was all done in 3d. The particles may be Particular but my bet is also 3d as they seem to envelope the lettering.
The cloudy backdrop is either a solid with tweaked fractal generation or perhaps a darkened clip from the Real Clouds collection.

hmm anyone care to discuss the screenshot? maybe the elements in it an even theories about how it can be recreated?
for example, i think a bumb map was used on the floor, which was positioned and created very similar to the grid tutorial.
The fogish effect in the background, is possibly created using fractal noise, as in with the "creating the blue planet" tutorial. Another fogish effect is in the foreground, this time smaller and more controlled.
As the text is shattering, there seems to be some external particles in there, possibly created using particular. (as per one of the recent short tutorials, can't quite remember the name)
In terms of lighting, i think there's maybe a white (or very light bluish) ambient light, a yellow, orangish point light could be behind the fog in the foreground.

Somebody should tell you guys that you don't need to apolize for some delay. Everybody is waiting for products, tutorials and other stuff that are from exceptional quality for newbees and advanced users.
Take your time, nobody with a good amount of brains will complain about this! Take it easy, take your time for making the product that you and all the other guys from VCP are proud of!

In the credits, he thanx you for the interface.
Well, I've picked up many video tutorials on the web (when there're downlaodable, there aren't here however but the series one is the way so nevermind).
I wonder how diffcult to make the interface is, in Flash I suppose, and I wish you could try a tut on that kind of stuff. Because it would be quite easier to check my tuts this way than in the navigator. I think many others here keep some tuts on their HD they like to be able to check quickly.
Of course I can do it in basic HTML code, with direct links pointing the video files. But I'd like to take it to the next level, if you see what I mean ... I'm pretty good in Photoshop, so I don't ask you about the graphics stuff or so, but the flash code is another tricky part to me .....
So please, give us the secret (what about an example of such a basic interface as a template .fla file ? we can dream, can't we ?), please please please ...

There is no tutorial for the promo planned at this time. It actually was all last minute ideas, a little ambitious perhaps but it has been tons of fun. I begin speculating about future projects when this one is done...
