I live in Eugene Oregon, which is right across the river from Springfield, and is the Shelbyville that they make fun of in the show. If you go from Eugene to springfield, you will notice all of the street lights are a bright yellow, hence the Yellow Simpsons. (No, I'm not making this up). The founder of Eugene (Shelbyville) was a trapper named Eugene Skinner. And we have a Skinner's Butte here in town. Just thought those were cool trivia facts.

P.S. Andrew, they moved the simpsons premiere from springfield Oregon to Springfield Vermont. Matt Groening is from Oregon, and I am very angry they are moving it. I had a chance to go to the premiere!

btw for the greenscreen chat, you can buy cheap greenscreen for new beginners at www.tubetape.com, i bought my first greenscreen there and it's very cheap. There is one problem with the greenscreen they have and that is screen is made out of some sort of plastic and it easily rips when you put it on a wall Peace out

Andrew, we know thats not what your doing, but we also know that you love it when it happens, cuz you can see us guessing away at what it will be, and although our attempts are practically futile, they make you feel proud because you know that you have thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people that respect you and your tutorials, and that is why wee sleep well at night, knowing that you think about us because of this blog.
These things take a while, I'm not sitting on a pile of tutorials and slowly releasing them to tease you. I only announce them when they are imminent. But occasionally something great comes along and takes priority over the queue.

I suspect your tutorial to have something to do with the new puppet tool, right?
Animating characters and all that.
It's a very useful tool, like if you need someone to get run over by car..
You could use the puppet tool to shape the actors body so it bends over the hood and stuff like that.

I hope it has somthing to do with invisibility, ive looked into it myself, but never seen an extremely great example

try RedGiant's Magic Bullet Suit for AE. one click and its done!
this is the fastest way (but it costs $800).
the other (and maybe the better, and cheapest) way is to wait for andrew's tutorial
so andrew where can i send you a truck full of beer?

About 1 and a half week ago you said that the day to night would be realesed. One week later you realese sky tutorial, and now youre going to realese some mysteri tutorial? WE NEED DAY TO NIGHT.

is it how to win a million dollar or the tips and tricks on how to get a job with Industrial Light nad Magic hihi okay not good in humour..anyways day to night can wait..the surprise seems too good to be missed...
For people who needs to do day to night..the baic thing abt it is.. motion track ur scene, change color to blueish, saturate it a bit, and put on lights(that is why we have to track the motion) on the street, coming from within the house, car headlights etc...but im sure Andrew got some useful tricks up his sleeves..anyways i cant wait!!

Looking forward to the new tutorial, I REALLY need a good day to night tutorial for a film I am shooting in mid August, I hope you have it up by then great work so far!

Another BETTER green screen and still CHEAP (cost wise) is
to go to a local fabric store and look for a roll of lime-green fabric.
choose how much you want and they'll cut it for you. put some metal rings in it at the top, and put some hooks in the ceiling and hang it. Put 2 or 3 flood lights from a local hardware store and you're set! Just make sure the subject is AT LEAST 2 feet away from the scren (so it wont cast any shadows).

Hey Andrew, maybe you could still do your day for night idea at another time, but maybe fill it out with tips on both day for night and dry for wet.
Stuff like using Particular to add "underwater particulate" matter to slowed/time remapped footage, underwater light falloff, etc...

Mysterious andrew, aslong as the tutorial isnt about how to make somthing look mysterious...
Another Good cheap green screen is the "Royal Brites" brand of florescent poster paper. Walmart sells them for about $0.90 a sheet.
you can also find them Here:

Its great because the paper is cheap, so you can use it on places where it gets dirty, and you can cut it down to any shape you want. the only issue I had with it was light "hot spots" where the lights were overexposing the paper. I just moved the lights further away and it worked fine.

If anyone wants a good cheap greenscreen go to party city and buy the green tablecloth things they are plastic and are pretty cheap.
