Another Free 3D Model! Galaxy S3

We posted a free iPhone 5 model recently and some people asked if we were paid by Apple to promote the phone and the answer is NO. They didn’t give us any free phones or computers we did it because we love you… in other words, that plan back-fired!

But today, we are releasing a free Galaxy S3 phone by Samsung and maybe those guys will send us some free TV’s or something. Can’t wait to watch TV on my new Samsung TV! Thanks guys! Hello? … Lousy internets.

3D Model:

Unzip the files to your “My Models” folder to use with Element 3D or import the OBJ file into your favorite 3D program. You can also watch the iPhone 5 tutorial to see how to animate the screen and other useful tips.

We’ve included the Element 3D files for both the white and black version of the phone too!

Hey Andrew, I have been wondering if these 3DS Max files would work in Maya too. Sam
    October 9th, 2012 @ 9:22 pm
It's free, just Download them and find out? They should, since cinema 4d supports 3Ds Max and Maya is an Autodesk product... so I would say yes.
    October 10th, 2012 @ 1:51 am
Import those in Max. Export that file As .obj File
And then import it to any f your 3d s/w like maya as you asked for. Solved
    October 14th, 2012 @ 1:48 am
    They will!

I'm just a hobbyist but Element 3D is looking more attractive to me everytime I visit this site. I just might have to bite the bullet and purchase this plugin.
October 10th, 2012 @ 2:45 am
now we just need a Nokia 920 to complete the trio! haha
October 10th, 2012 @ 2:50 am
BTW Andrew, here you are some stuff we've just made with 3dMax and Element. Most of the clips qith flying objects are Element, and even more...

hope you enjoy, at least, to know we're definetely taking profit from it.
    October 10th, 2012 @ 4:37 am
Hi Marc. Great work! Did you animated all in AE/Element?
    October 10th, 2012 @ 5:20 am
yes, but not all, there are many animations from 3DsMax. I can say that 50% is Element, animations included!
    October 13th, 2012 @ 12:22 pm
Nice Work! How much time would you say you saved by incorporating Element into the workflow - or is it too early to tell (learning curve impacts, etc.)

    Thanks for posting!
    October 19th, 2012 @ 1:59 am
Well, corchard, I can't say exactly, but I'm sure that at least 100 hours of 3D Max renderings...
October 10th, 2012 @ 3:24 am
Need a Tutorial about "make a model and export (with texture) for Element 3D"...... it'll help if you do it in 3dsmax.
October 10th, 2012 @ 4:10 am
Thank you for the new 3D model. Looks great!

October 10th, 2012 @ 5:19 am
Is anybody else having trouble with scaling of the model when brought into After Effects?
I'm having to scale to 100%/78% to make it appear normal.
I'm using AE-CS6 .... and never had problems with Element 3D of any kind before today.
    Bob K
    October 10th, 2012 @ 5:50 am

Andrew, you've been very discouraged!
Do not be discouraged because your plugin is awesome and everyone should buy the plugin to help you produce better things.
Staff seek to buy the plugin, it's cheap and worth every penny.

October 10th, 2012 @ 8:21 am
How long does one of these take you to make.

For us may be more than 24 Hours :p
October 10th, 2012 @ 8:24 am
Thanks so much! This is great
October 10th, 2012 @ 8:30 am
huh, did people actually ask that.

I just thought it was clever marketing.

You know that everyone is looking for the iPhone, and is therefore likely to find your page in a search.
In addition, some people might want to make a parody, the amounts of "Free iPhone" or "3D iPhone" searches that will be made is likely high.
October 10th, 2012 @ 9:03 am

You dont have to download it frm here LOL
October 10th, 2012 @ 8:52 am
Hi guys at video copilot. !:D just wanted to say that your all brilliant - especially Sam Loya - hilarious haha. All the tutorials are so informative and all show so much that can be re-used again and again!! I've been watching and learning from you guys for a wee while now, and you've really inspired me!! I set out to try and film my own wee short and much of what you show in this website really helped in terms of applying effects, so far I only have the trailer for the film finished - but it's a working progress haha. Low budget and all, but I think the whole point in this website is for people who just want to make films and enjoy it, whatever the budget is. Here's the link if you fancy giving it a watch:-

Cheers again all !!! (: looking forward to the next tuturial btw Andrew (;
October 10th, 2012 @ 10:28 am
Hi Andrew,

first of all. I love your work and keep buying your products.
Maybe you could think about a simple, closed Blu-ray case Model for Element 3D with a front, a back and a side cover. I can't find anything like that in the net.
If someone can help - please advice.

    October 11th, 2012 @ 6:45 am
Email Me I will give you that model with 4k texture :)
If you want then tweet me @blurrypuzzle I will give you Email Id :) Thanks. And for your concern Not selling anything. i am just a student Hope i can help you as a pal "]

Actually after the last free iPhone model, i some how recieved a box of iphone 5's from a box i found infront of a building that had some whacky name like Video Copilots. i figured since they were Pilots, they didnt need that box any way, i mean Pilots should be focused on Flying and not playing on iPHONES. i just saved a bunch of peoples LIVES! Keep flying and god speed Kramerica Airlines! :P

Is there any way to do "light wrap" in E3D?
    October 14th, 2012 @ 3:03 pm
    Actually there is...
just apply " Light Wrap " Effect in the same Element 3D layer...i'm 100% sure it will work.
    apply in the follow possition.
    1- Elemend 3D
    2- Light Wrap

I'm testing out Cinema 4D, but the textures dont line up on the model. I have no idea on Unwrapping... Can someone post a cinema-file with the texture in place?
October 15th, 2012 @ 11:44 am
Can you parent a 3D element object to a Null? have a null drive the 3d element model, along with an image layer. Is this possible?
    October 16th, 2012 @ 2:56 pm
Yes it's possible. Create expressions for the 'Position XY' and 'Position Z' properties of the particle replicator. Then just pickwhip the null's position.
October 15th, 2012 @ 3:21 pm
Hi all .. I have created a free 3D model "PAVILLON". It's done with 3Ds Max. The files are available as OBJ and E3D. You can download and use it for free. There are no textures included. You can easily choose one of the original materials from ELEMENT 3D. I hope you will like it .. Cheers!

    October 16th, 2012 @ 2:49 am
Thanks man. That's really nice of you.

Thanks Andrew! I love Video Copilot. I used lots of your techniques (and action essentials) in my stop motion animation entry for the Halo Megabloks competition. Actually, I've seen lots of Video Copilot stuff in the entries over there. Mine's called Codename: Sweeper. Check it out and vote if you like:

This is really great. But honestly I would love a model pack featuring "Things With Screens". so much of my commercial work calls for video playback on TVs, cellphones, laptops, and computers that I would happily buy a model pack with a variety of those things, Element-ready.

Seriously? People moaned about the iPhone instead of just thanking and and requesting an alternative? Tacky. If ever there's not a model I prefer, I'd simply create it myself rather than insult the person giving us freebies. I sense there are a lot of people using Element who haven't a clue about how to do anything themselves, but I digress...
