Sam Loya is back and this time it's temporary! Recently we took to the streets with our 2-man crew of myself and Sam Loya to shoot a fun scene where bad things happen. Shot everything handheld with a small shoulder rig, 5D and 2 lenses. (16-35 and 85mm) More updates coming soon.

Hey Andrew, the thing that always strikes me about your pictures from frames in your little shorts is how the skintones look. I know you're shooting with a 5D and some sweet glass but i'm really dying to figure out how you get those skintones the way they are..

He may have phrased it better but I'll side with Onyxfire on his basic sentiments... there are a number of posters here who feel entitled, and just want a new toy to claim rather than do anything for themselves.
I half expect them to ask for their jigsaws to come ready-assembled as well.

Hi .. Here is my new 3D work. It's a still image done with 3Ds Max and optimized in AE with some "Video Copilot Optical Flares" .. Hope you'll like it .. cheers !

HEY GUYS !!! Read this !! :
Andrew Kramer on twitter:
"Traveling to NYC for a couple of days. Camera Gear at the ready, Epic with Ruby wide angle lens. Shooting for a new TV intro."
Got it ?!
He does more then stay online to refresh his browser to answer every question. You guys should watch movies..do what ever else you need to do to get inspiration. Re-read the blogs for answers ...or you could press control "F" in type in key words to search blogs.
Relax !! the videos will get released when they get released , but the bills have to be paid first (new TV intro)
Until then, keep up with Christian Michael he's into some cool stuff with ELEMENT3D.
I made my first 3D model yesterday with strictly E3D...it was just a barrel container
I know easy as heck..but I was inspired to try and create 3D models using only E3D "I learned a lot in the process" ...thanks Christian,Josh

The jokes about Sam are real funny and everything, but some are wearing kind of thin.
If you go back and look through VCP material, he's clearly is a good actor and a great "sympathetic" character.
Is there any 'legit' work that he's done that you could point us to !?!!

Finally,
Some solid material again. I know you needed to promote Element 3D, but dang. This felt like it lost it's "kick" of being a down to earth place to learn some sweet After Effects stuff. Don't get me wrong, Element is amazing, but it was overtaking everything. Sheesh! Should have thrown in a random tutorial that had nothing to do with element in the mix, to avoid over saturation of your followers.. I found myself not checking in here as often as I usually did. Anyways, glad to see things are going well, software wise, and tutorial wise. Keep up the good work!

Hey Andrew looking forward to seeing this, but I have a question. Have you ever worked with an Imax camera?
Damn I am amazed by DSLRs all the time. Maybe do a talk about DSLRs and your setup once? I would definitely even pay to watch you talk about cameras, choosing cameras etc.
My coworker is a spitting image of Sam, I have shopped my coworker head onto Sams in a scene or two of yours! okay, maybe not spitting...a variant could pass as a stunt double for Sam version. Good to see Sam back! looking forward to the post!
or....you could view the videos at home like everyone else lol. come to think of it have you actually looked on the tutorials page....there are 4 new Element videos posted.

Hey, Andrew! I'm excited to see how Sam will be killed/ injured!
One request though... when you post the video(s), could you make it available on VideoCopilot???s site as well instead of on Vimeo or YouTube exclusively? For many of us users, these other sites are blocked on our workplace internet, where we access your site much of the time. This has happened a lot in the last couple of weeks, and I???m having to miss out on a lot of great material!
Just a humble request/suggestion from a raving loyal fan who would love to see everything you post!

Sam is always good for a laugh , though sometimes he must wonder if he is the re-incarnation of Wile-e-coyote ! , due to the amount of disasters that befall him .
Andrew is anything happening with your "Planet Matte Paintings" project ?

Ever think of making a few tutorials on making an indie movie on a small budget (Pleeeeeeeeeease!!!!!)
Nice photography, a really like the mood!
Here's a little animation I did yesterday, I did't do much color correction, I just wanted to focus on the animation and world creation. Everything was created using Element (everything but the modeling, wich I didn't do it either...). Before doing something serious I need to train a lot, Element basics are easy but using it well needs lot of training.
Can't wait till next tutorial!

Hey Andrew,
How much do you think it would cost to get a "small shoulder rig, 5D and 2 lenses. (16-35 and 85mm?"
That sounds ideal for me for shooting small spots, ads and promos. I'll be doing semi-regularly pretty soon.
Thank you for help my man! I wouldn't have the job I have now without you, I feel like I should give you 10% of my paychecks. haha
