Plug-in Updates & Information

All Video Copilot products now support After Effects CS5 and free updates are available for Optical Flares and Twitch.

Important Information About CS5 and 64-bit:

  • Each Plug-in comes in 2 versions: one for After Effects CS5 (64-bit) and one for previous versions of After Effects such as AE 7, CS3 & CS4 (32-bit).
  • Please install the plug-in based on your version After Effects only. The 64-bit version is for After Effects CS5 only and NOT based on your Operating System.
  • So if you have AE CS4 installed on the 64-bit version of Windows 7, you still only need to install the 32-bit version of the plug-in because AE CS4 is still a 32-bit application.
  • Customers can reuse their current licenses with this update. Simply copy your license file from the previous directory into the new installation folder. If you have a new computer or need to request a new license please contact our support team.

:( animation controls doesn't work again. Always same problem. When I try to set parameters for animation (speed and amount)my flare is always STILL. nothing change in the composition. And "roll-scroll" of mouse (mac) don't move the panels of parameters. (in cs4 it works). :(

Hi there,
big trouble with sure target & optical flares :
The new version of optical flares (32 bits) crashes the "sure target" layer values in CS3 (decimal values are lost : 1.00 become 1000).
Everything is ok if I replace the new plugin by the old one.
Any advice?
thanks

Awesome! Just tried this out in my brand-new CS5 (my first upgrade in three years and one that's unquestionably worth it) and it works great, not to mention runs a ton faster. I can't believe how much better the entire CS5 production suite is. Everything just seems snappier and more responsive. Thanks Andrew and thanks Adobe!

Hi, i have the same problem. tried it in 34 bit, cs3 and rendering just fails. it doesnt show any message, it just renders 3 frames and finishes. but if i turn off the layer with optical flare, it renders well. I'm trying to render the wall of lights thing btw, is it a memory or graphics card issue? i hope to hear from you soon. thanks!
