this should`ve been celebrated – VCP`s 100th Tut !

That looks really amazing… not exactly sure of any practical use for it, seems like this would be easier and more photo realistic in Maya, but, hey, if it looks cool why not create it? Props for being able to do that in AE, truly impressive. I can’t honestly say I could go that intensely photo-real from scratch in a compositing program.

So that’s the big hundredth tutorial? Don’t get me wrong it’s cool stuff as usual.. but i woulda seen something bigger.. anyways like i said great stuff.. thanx for everything and happy holidays to you and your family…

I precomposed all the layers in the last comp, and added an additional adjustment layer to it (some darkening), and I cannot get the comp to render at all.
Is anyone else having difficulty rendering this output?
I’m using an NVIDIA FX 1800 Quadro in my Windows 7 x64 box.

Hey Ivan, actually that music is NOT from Pro-Scores. In fact it was made before Pro Scores came out and we also try not to use Pro Scores for our promos to keep the product less recognizable.

i love it !
i watched your tutorial, and made something different.
i duplicated the ball about 10 times and added it a trapcode shine effect. that looked like Sun and i even added it a rain from simulations. it a funny, but stunnung effect

I did the Glass Orbs tutorial and after that I tried something a little bit twisted. I transformed the Glass Orbs into Palantirs from the Lord Of the Rings,and made the background more Mordor… ish.

You just recreated the fresnel effect on the reflections…
Really nicely althought.
Keep an eye on the fact that the fresnel effect is applied
on the object on its surface that is front the camera, so not always in the middle ( here of the sphere ).
Really impressive and creative eye, you got there !
