Back in 2008 when we made it to tutorial # 65 a DVD was produced to let people take the tutorials with them. As a bonus we produced this unual interview based on questions from the community. Most of the answers just lead to more questions… but we had some fun.

Once we get to 100 Tutorials, we’ll have to make a Series II DVD with some more special features… we’ll see!

Series One

You're an inspiration Andrew. I'm 17 and I aspire to do something along the lines of what you do for a career. Thanks so much for this website, I can't even begin to explain how much I've learned.
September 4th, 2009 @ 8:19 pm
hahaha awesome Andrew! I have a few questions for you.

How do you start a visual effects house what is the first thing to do?

How much money did you start off at first to make video copilot?

Have you made any independent films that made it to any film festivals?

What was your very first film that you created?

You are really good at 3D Max ever thought of making a short 3D film?

Now that you are very successful from video copilot do you get alot more respect than you did before video copilot or did already have respect before and after video copilot?

Where do you buy all your professional equipment at?

Has Sam ever thought of being an extra in a movie?

What was it like to work with J.J. Abrams?

You said that you use to work with studios before video copilot what where those studios? Big Corporation or Small Independent Studios?

What will you do if a big company I don't know say viacom or some other big corporation bought video copilot what will you do?

Other than "The Bullet" tutorial is there any chance that you will be working on a tutorial that is Blender?

At the DMA/LA you where wearing a T-shirt related to forest gump has the movie inspire you to go into the industry?
Tom
September 4th, 2009 @ 9:00 pm

¡Epa! ¿Qué pasó? ¡Aquí Está Andrés Kramer!

September 4th, 2009 @ 11:13 pm
The part about the monkeys was the best. HOWEVER....Andrew - you shouldn't have given him a new suit... I bet it went to his head. That sort of thing can seriously affect work performance you know.

hey Andrew,

great video.I have 2 questions for you.
1.Is there any way we can get those T-shirts or maybe a picture and then print it on T-shirts?

2.When will you be starting Video Copilot video blog?I can't wait to see it.

Greeting from Serbia
Matthew Sabia
September 5th, 2009 @ 1:18 am
Hey Andrew where can I get one of those shirts!?
perry
September 5th, 2009 @ 2:35 am
funny stuff, Mr. Kramer I am asking you to do a segment on designing, basically things to consider when make motion graphic. Like for example, since I saw u using gradient background, I realized shit just look better wen ramped.plz
MELLE
September 5th, 2009 @ 2:56 am
Yeahh I thought about it a severel times, too. You sell motion graphics products. Sell those t-shirts in different styles and colors and maybe one can also print his name on the back. And then one day you will have a whole clothing collection. t-shirts, sweats, caps, etc.:D:D:D:D:D So we the fans can show that we like videocopilot. Imagine, how many people would buy something like that. Seriously.

Just Imagine!!!!!
One day Andrew has his own clothing collection with sweats, t-shirts and caps with the videocopilot logo on it.
One day Andrew is presenting his 300th tutorial in front of 60 thousand people in a real stadium and they all scream when Andrew starts saying "What'S up guys. Here's Anfrew Kramer for videocopilot.net"
One day I go in a normal store and ask for the latest videocopilot product and they say "Sorry, we are already sold out"
One day he apple pays 2 million dollars to Andrew Kramer that he makes Final Cut tutorials, because people only buy After Effects because of his tutorials.
Ok I was just kidding, but be honest. Have you ever thought you get so popular? In the interviewe( made back in 2008) you say j.Abrems is one of your idols and by now we know you worked with him at Fronge. So you see there's still a lot space to take it to a higher level and this community is with you.

Too Funny !!!

You need to pop for a TRICASTER and let it run live in the office. If you don't want it on all the time just let it run promo loops until you get in a funky mood like that.

If the rest of your crew, full or part-time, are half as funny as you and Loya you could run live all day. (uStream.tv is a decent quality hookup.)

(...which reminds me. Some of us would love to see something on using your amazing goodies in a live workflow like the TC!)
Kris Sandin
September 5th, 2009 @ 2:11 pm

Here's a question. How should video be formatted for best editing in After Effects. For example, what type of format/compression will playback in After Effects at live-speed without any choppiness?
September 6th, 2009 @ 12:47 pm
I appreciate you posting up all these awesome tuts on your site and if you make a series II disk, I will buy that one too.

Leef,

AE isn't an NLE.

Maybe you could get close with a dual-i7 Supermicro X8DAH with lots of SSDs in RAID-0 and about 32GB of PC3 10600s on Windoze 7 x64.....or a Cray.....

(...hmmmm. That would make a nice gaming box, wouldn't it!)
September 6th, 2009 @ 1:58 pm
There is something inexplicably fascinating about Sam's onscreen presence, you can't get enough of him. And who's the other guy anyway?

Looking forward to tutorial #100, and the Series 2 DVD. I finally got around to posting a short film I made in which one of your older tutorials plays a key role. I can't say which tutorial though, as it'll ruin the ending...although some will find it obvious. Check it out at
