July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:10 am
HA!!!! Your like me Kramer. I do the same thing to the users on my website. I say I am going to publish something on a certain day (if your case July 1st), and then I wait until 11:59 PM of that day to do it. Awsome trailer though. Can't wait till I get the money to buy it.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:11 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:14 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:16 am
Man you are the Master, everything is cool (sound, effect, fonts ..etc)

I have only one question about the lettertype.

What kind of font did you use for it? Or you made the tekst in 3ds max?

I hear it form you Andrew.
Johann Torres
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:18 am
Andrew, i know you must be a little tired for making this awesome promo, but i have to ask, when you have time can you make a tutorial of how to make those effects in the intro, or when the AE tittle appears?? it will be great :D
dan allen
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:19 am
Thanks Andrew

You da Man!

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:20 am
It was awesome... Though it was kind of dissappointing, I thought we were going to see some on scene action like for Action Essentials 1.

Good job, though.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:21 am
SWEET! I have been checking this site all day! It is past 2am here in MN so I figured you were going to post it today, you must be out in Cali!

Very cool though!

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:41 am
Thats... thats just brilliant!
I would like to see a tutorial with that lensflare type that i've been seeing alot lately. That striped one.
I think you used it in the Star Trek intro aswell. It looks soo good!

Thanks for everything Andrew!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:48 am
I love the trailer. You always pick great music and do a great job creating epic motion graphics. I am stoked about this product.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:54 am
I would love to download and watch the high def version of this trailer. It's awesome!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:00 am
Hey Andrew...

Great said 60 minutes of training...that means it is only for the AE2 (How to use type)OR Have you also included some bonus tutorials in the pack? Like actually exploding a Car, a person Shot and blood coming out etc.?

July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:01 am
never seen anything better!!!It's simply great...
by the way, where did you get that music?I liked it so much.

Greetings from Serbia!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:05 am
It looks nice! I love how the particles are shooting around. How's that done?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:13 am
even this being the best trailer ever on videocopilot will it be possible to watch the old trailer? I can't find it;)
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:15 am
Oh my god! You need to chill out with this stuff AK. I don't get paid for my freelance stuff for ages and I'm pulling my hair out. This product is keeping me awake at night thinking about the possibilities and I'm weeks away from getting it. Very cool stuff, I literally had a dream about this last night. Just a point as well, for those upset about shipping costs or splashing out on the 2K version... Have you seen how much it costs to buy just 1 pre-keyed fire element in SD from various royalty free sites? AE2 is going to smash these guys! Brilliant.

Loving it as always.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:16 am
Too Good Andrew!!
Ben Wotton
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:23 am
ehhhhhh.......I want it right now! Why hasn't teleportation replaced shipping yet?!!!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:24 am
Hey, really nice trailer. REALLY :)
So, shipping start tomorrow? :)
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:33 am

And cool track where do you got it from ?? did you made it by yourself ????

Nice this is a cool trailer i'm looking forward to the action movie !!!!! :D
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:38 am
Dude andrew, you gotta create a tutorial on that text effects that you made.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 2:02 am
The reflection of the blast on the bus (from your VFX Breakdown clip) was pretty sick. Are you gonna include that in a later tutorial or is it already packed in the DVD's?

Double Thumbs Up on Action Essentials II!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 2:03 am
Oh Dear. Thats SO Amazing...Can't Stop watching. Youre the MAN! Did you also do the Sounddesign? It's Amazing, was waiting for the "Die Hard V" Slogan :D
July 2nd, 2009 @ 2:25 am
wow super cool
July 2nd, 2009 @ 2:40 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 3:05 am
Awesome thanks!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 3:12 am

But the bgmusic made me more jealous than the video ;)

July 2nd, 2009 @ 3:15 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 3:37 am
Finally, Looks Epic & Awesome!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 3:48 am
So, now that this is finished... what's next?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 3:57 am
Awesome trailer Andrew!!!

I have 2 question about it:

- Was the text made in a 3d program (3ds, c4d etc) or was it made in AE using you technique or a plugin like 3D Invigorator?

- Were the particles made using Particular or were they a part of the pre-keyed stuff you had shot?

From Israel.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:19 am
Sickest trailer yet, Kramer...
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:30 am
I love this trailer so much. I have an absolute obsession over 3d Text and graphics. I really want to take some time to learn programs like 3ds Max and produce effects like yours (me and everyone else in your community). Stand by, my order is ready for launch.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:30 am
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:40 am
Dude, that looked absolutely sick
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:40 am
no comments, level of hollywood Kramer.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:42 am
I have a question Andrew ,
How do you match effects with music or sound in After Effects ?
Because usually it don,t have export for sound or music ?

July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:44 am
Music is incredible, the beginning and first vocal chord (00:16 - 00:18) strongly reminds me a Freedom Fighters - Two Steps from Hell The music (Star Trek 09 trailer music). Anyway, excelent music!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:54 am
Amazing trailer! Can you tell me how did you make the 3d text with the bump?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 4:57 am
AWESOME!!! I want to buy it soon. I'm so exited!!!!!!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 5:29 am
July 2nd, 2009 @ 5:31 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 5:55 am

How awesome is this...that promo got my heart pumping. I'm making budged room right now to get this. Very good's hard to come by really good elements, especially at 2K.

Also, Andrew do you think maybe you could show behind the scenes of making Action Essentials 2(the more the better)? On the side note, I've been wanting to hear from others who have used the Red One camera, and I realized you used it for AE2. Was it really different then anything else you have used before?

July 2nd, 2009 @ 6:02 am
Holy cow
did I read 'shot on RED' ?
lucky you.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 6:05 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 6:30 am
I think you needed to change the direction of the lens flares once in a while. Makes you a little dizzy... or maybe I'm just so blown away that it is mind boggling!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 6:37 am
What I can say?
Awesome !!! ;p

July 2nd, 2009 @ 7:15 am
No offense, but this new design for the website has too much information in it and is way too much colorful.

July 2nd, 2009 @ 8:00 am
Exelente!!!!!!!This is the best trailer that you did!

Hugs from your Brazilian fan!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 8:01 am
No, it is not, as far as I know.
Maybe I am wrong, since I do not have Pro Scores, my neighbour has ;)

Anyways, I wounder who is compositing these tracks..
Are they made by you? Or any classical composer I should know from music lessons?.. ^^

For me it has a strong touch of Hans Zimmer, but I guess this is nonsence...

Anyways, the bgm is awesome!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 8:01 am
July 2nd, 2009 @ 8:06 am
Andrew, your trailers are always fun to watch! THX
July 2nd, 2009 @ 8:16 am

It's very impressive....You should teach us how to make a score for a trailer or promo
Thanks Andrew for all you presented to us
I really appreciate it.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 9:12 am
Sometimes blog comments are just like real life.

The question is: is that a good thing?

Awesome trailer Andrew.
Really Amazing.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 9:23 am
@ Loay

Ever heard of Pro Scores? ;)
July 2nd, 2009 @ 9:33 am

July 2nd, 2009 @ 9:43 am
when i finish watching this! My eyes poped out! that was the must beautiful thing i seen on effects. :D
Diego G.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 9:43 am
Andrew, sorry if someone asked before, but, When will you do the mini-movie you told us about? or it's going to be a tutorial o something?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:14 am
The music is not from Pro-Scores, I try not to undervalue the products by overusing them in my productions. We license most of our music through various broadcast outlets.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:14 am
@Diego, scroll up buddy
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:14 am
@diego: of course this was asked before... look at the first few posts! and why is there a text-search feature in your browser? ... sorry but just a little bit reading would have solved this...
Diego G.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:24 am
ok, sorry, when I wrote that I didn't have time to read, Sorry again, :$

Waiting for the VideoBlog...
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:26 am
How many of the elements ar CG?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:27 am
About 7.5 percent are Computer Generated.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:47 am
One question Andrew:

The smoke at the very begining of your new promo for ae2 has a camera move to it, is the smoke part of the elements? Because when the BG orbits around the smoke, the smoke most definetly looks 3D.

July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:47 am
amazing trailer, ive watched it 7 times in a row. Can i ask the name of the production company that created music cue that you used in teh trailer please.

Dave Vegas
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:47 am
Hey Andrew Kamer, the CG in this trailer is awesome! Please make a tutorial about how to make such a nice 3D Text "Transformers"-Like mini clip !

Thanks andrew already bought the product :)

keep it on

July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:49 am
Lyndon, The smoke in the beginning is most definitely an element from the collection, I just duplicated it and put it in 3D space.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:51 am
Andrew can u answer me please ? :)

How do you match effects with music or sound in After Effects ?
Because usually it don,t have real-time export for sound or music ?

A Fan… What else?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:55 am
WOW! That's a fantastic trailer! Well done Mr. Andrew Fantastic Kramer! I love it.

But BTW,...
can anybody tell me the name of the font which is used in the lettering 'Action Essentials 2' in the new trailer of AE2? I probably know many projects where this font could be used in =) Thanks in advance!

Greetings from Austria!!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:03 am
talk about a quick response mr. kramer, thx. awesome compositing w/ the smoke, i never knew i could look so real. can't wait to get pfhoe track now in combination w/ ae2.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:03 am

I live in Finland and if I order this product, does it still include that free shipping offer?

And do you have any idea how much it would cost in all to me? 'Cause it would probably be way more expensive to me...?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:04 am
hey Andrew, i think you said later this year you would be putting AE2 into the bundles, any idea of a more specific time? because i'm looking to buy all of the VCP products, and i'm wondering if its going to be a while and i should just get the 10+ bundle and seperately AE2
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:09 am
Hey andrew what about the floating embers at the begging is that in the collection
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:17 am
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:23 am

I looked at the detailed element list, and it showed no sound effects.

Roughly how many sound effects are included, and what do they cover?

July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:27 am
Awesome trailer Andrew ;)
cool stuff

Hamed from Iran.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:29 am
Great Vid, i cant wait to blow up a car with a nice CGI cat inside, and a dog watching lauguing histerically. Then a piano falls down and then the dog does some matrix moves and finally the cat appears like a T-1000 liquid metal out of the car continuing with a fight scene to remember and then... i stuk at this part.

Any way, nice vid McKramer!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:30 am
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:52 am
Awesome!!!How do u do that awesome lens flare? Is it a plugin..or is it all VC?
Matt UK
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:53 am
Mr Kramer you never disappoint, your work is awsome, in fact every time I see your stuff it makes me realise just how crap mine is. I often feel like throwing in the towel and giving up but your tutorials, work and products inspire me to battle on in the hope that one day I will be as good as you! The question now is though:car insurance or 2K version? Looks like I'll be biking it to work.So not only will I have amazing looking footage in my projects but I'll be fitter and healthier as well.Thats got to be money well spent.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 11:55 am
Awesome!!! :-)
Mike L.
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:00 pm

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:01 pm
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:20 pm

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:39 pm

July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:47 pm
What version was used in the promo?
Great promo btw!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 12:52 pm
Hey Andrew,

I know you have told us in Basic Training what the best settings to use when rendering, but what settings do you use ?
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:25 pm
Knoll LF! I should've known! YOU ROCK!
July 2nd, 2009 @ 1:44 pm

Good choice of camera for the new product Andrew. Without question, these keyed elements will look beautiful.

This is fantastic, what a visuals, what a sound and what an amazing concept. Everything Brillint!!!!!

Amazing work Andrew, ur a Genius!!!!!

One question: How did you make the metallic 3D text?
Is it a render from 3DS Max ?
I'm afraid you can do anything within AE, so I was wondering if that was made in AE or its a 3D Text rendered from 3DSMax?

Once again amazing work & amazing Product.

Warm Regards
July 2nd, 2009 @ 8:26 pm

July 2nd, 2009 @ 10:13 pm
I don't know why so many users here are clueless to recreating this trailer. With all the tutorials and tips Andrew has given us, it wouldn't be difficult to come up with something similar. Come on guys! I'm disappointed!

July 3rd, 2009 @ 6:41 pm
July 3rd, 2009 @ 6:55 pm
Awesome trailer, but I'd prefer to see more "real" examples - like the bus comp. Of course this isn't gonna make me buy it because I don't have any moneeey!!! One day - soon I hope - it will be mine. Thanks Andrew and VC gang!
July 3rd, 2009 @ 7:35 pm

July 4th, 2009 @ 9:16 am
Who the hell are you !!?

Andrew, you are not amazing but you are more than it !!

So i like to see more tuts about that video @@"

thanks bro (:<
July 4th, 2009 @ 10:48 am
@DJCapox: Not really, AK used different textures for the sides and top of the text. Plus lighting is far more advanced in his version.
July 4th, 2009 @ 12:16 pm
Maybe a stupid question, but where do you find the best matching sounds to the visuals (expolsions, fire, shots, ...)?

I mean specially for this stuff.
July 4th, 2009 @ 12:27 pm
Great trailer
July 4th, 2009 @ 12:55 pm
Wow! kick ass trailer man!
but for the text titles, did you make and animate them in AE? or in 3ds max?
loookss awesomeee man!
July 4th, 2009 @ 4:09 pm
Hey Andrew,
What lens flare did you use for the trailer.
July 4th, 2009 @ 7:35 pm

Anybody received his copy already?

July 4th, 2009 @ 9:14 pm
mine should be here tomorrow ,i already have a short in mind to shoot and use this bad ass elemnts. what we need is 4th of july tutorial. happy 4th of july every one.
July 4th, 2009 @ 9:16 pm
Wow! That is incredible!!

Was that a custom lens flare? It's way nicer than the ones I find in AE.
July 4th, 2009 @ 10:21 pm
I would expect orders to start arriving by tomorrow. If you live in the USA of course...
July 5th, 2009 @ 12:08 am
So I was wondering if we can expect a short war type film where we can see the AE2 package on another level.
You did that for the first Action Essentials so I thought it'd make sense if you did that for this one. I dunno, maybe it's too much trouble.

Anyway, awesome product, great trailer, Video Copilot forever!
Aiz Ray
July 5th, 2009 @ 12:29 am
Will I be able to get it in DVD stores somewhere in UK?
July 5th, 2009 @ 2:43 am

July 5th, 2009 @ 6:55 am

July 5th, 2009 @ 2:24 pm

can you upload the final comps renders from the tutorials that come in the box?

that would be great!
July 5th, 2009 @ 3:06 pm

July 5th, 2009 @ 3:16 pm

lol that will be great, what about riot gear 2,that will be nice too lol
RA. Elliott
July 5th, 2009 @ 6:47 pm :p
What do you think?
July 5th, 2009 @ 8:24 pm
@ RA. Elliott

That was so cool! Did you use AE2 for that?
July 5th, 2009 @ 9:12 pm
That's awesome that you did the Main Credit animation for Star Trek! That movie rocked! I bet you felt honored. But on another note, Have you ever made any films, like real ones? You could do it so easily...and you got Sam...he's the next Brad Pitt. :)
July 5th, 2009 @ 9:17 pm
How many Mb are the lower resolution samples that come with the 2k version?

Because I was thinking that for people who order the 2k version, you can allow the samples to be downloaded, at least so we can see all of the clips immediately after purchasing them.
July 5th, 2009 @ 9:18 pm
PS: I made my best friend explode into pieces from an explosion from Action Essentials 1! I can't wait to blow him up again using Action Essentials 2! He'll be thrilled! :D
RA. Elliott
July 5th, 2009 @ 9:43 pm
@ Trent.G,

No! lol, juuust kidding with ya. No, I didn't order AE2 yet, so I used some stuff I had from Detonation Films. But Andrew all the way!!
July 5th, 2009 @ 9:56 pm
way cool!!!!!!!!!
July 6th, 2009 @ 10:12 am
Hey Andrew,
If I were to shoot footage in 1080p, would I have problems with the 720p version working with my footage?
July 6th, 2009 @ 11:00 am
@ Greg
It wouldn't be as such high of Definition as the 2K Version, and you would have to Re-shape the size of the effect.
July 6th, 2009 @ 11:14 am
@Andrew Kramer,

Can you share with us where you got the music from for the Action Essentials 2 trailer? Its awesome- very Dark Knight like and epic sounding!! I'm shooting a short film in the next few weeks and would love to use something similar sounding.

A kid

July 6th, 2009 @ 7:37 pm
Hey Andrew, the new trailer looks amazing... It would be cool if you could do a tutorial on how you put it together, especially that lensflare transition effect. thats very cool... and a tutorial on how you put together the music sequence would also be awesome!!!!

but love the trailer... very cool. only wish i could produce something like that. was it all done in after effects??
July 6th, 2009 @ 11:36 pm

July 7th, 2009 @ 4:24 am
hey Andrew,
Yourock in every way!You have opened my eyes as a filmmaker to see that there are endless possibilities when it comes to making movies and best of all...its so cheap and readily available!
Using your tutorials and buying your products...i have been able to develop a strong voice in the motion picture industry in Nigeria where i am! This is the best of all your products and combining this with pro score had made me unstopable.
I hope yo can come to Nigeria soon!!!
Brian Baus
July 7th, 2009 @ 3:45 pm
Awesome score !!!
Did you use killer tracks because I found that same score. lol
It's still an awsome trailer.
July 7th, 2009 @ 7:14 pm

Indeed it is by Killer Tracks ;)

Titled: Intergalactic War
July 8th, 2009 @ 1:49 am

Anyone get there copy yet?
July 8th, 2009 @ 4:22 pm
no i didnt yet and i payed for priority mail and im starting to wonder if it was even worth paying the extra 16 $
July 8th, 2009 @ 5:12 pm
Wonder why they didnt have a downloadable version?
July 9th, 2009 @ 5:38 am
@ Jason,

You wonder why? You have to use common sense, the 720P is 16GB and the 2K version is 32GB, do you think regular people could download that much?
I know my Internet provider won't be happy.
July 9th, 2009 @ 6:38 am
why does it cost so much
July 9th, 2009 @ 8:11 am
i really hope it come 2day

im from New York i got priority shipping after i get home from this film program im going 2 ill post a video of a ruff test on footage i filmed on youtube so everyone can see
July 10th, 2009 @ 11:38 am
You guys might wanna find another distributor for your packaging. I received my 720p set today and both discs were loose inside my clamshell casing and the discs don't stay very firm inside for shipping purposes. One of the discs are somewhat scratched, but functionally should still work just fine and am not worried about that. Just think the material quality could have been better and something more sturdy to hold up to jostling in the mail from the DVDs coming loose inside.

Looking forward to using these new effects! Thanks!
July 10th, 2009 @ 11:41 am
Scott Mccarthy---

Why does it cost so much? Are you kidding? Go over to Artbeats and take a look how much just a fraction of what you are getting here will set you back then see how good of a deal this is.
July 10th, 2009 @ 12:27 pm
Yo Ryan,
Sorry to hear that man, we have had really good luck with the dual cases in the past but of course this is a small possibility.

If you do find there is a problem with the any of the discs in the future, just email support and we can send you a new copy of the product. Any physical problems are guaranteed 100%

Hope you like the material!
July 10th, 2009 @ 1:07 pm
Got mine today and I'm excited to get started using these great elements. I got the 720p and my disks were secure on the round center button when I opened the case. Fully covered in bubblewrap. Thanks again VCP team.
July 10th, 2009 @ 2:33 pm
I just wanted to shout out to my neighbors and apologize to them. Because when I went out to the mailbox and saw that my Action Essentials 2 arrived, I let out a scream that sounded like a mix of Chewbachka and an 8 year old girl. I hope they didn’t call them cops, but it’s worth it.. Now let’s go blow some stuff up! (Rendered, The Video Copilot way of course lol)
July 10th, 2009 @ 11:13 pm
I want mine soo much!
I live in Australia though, would it take longer?

Just recieved my copy of Action Essentials 2, all of the elements are fantastic, this is a must buy. I have not had any problems with my copy. Keep up the great work Andrew and many thanks to you and your team. Video Copilot rules. By the way is Sam for hire lol, he is a great actor.
July 15th, 2009 @ 9:08 am
Andrew, I am about to buy Action Movie Essentials 2, but i just have one question. In the gallery demo video, you use Adobe Bridge to organize the 20 categories and 500 effects. Does Action Movie Essentials 2 come with Adobe Bridge? Or do i have to download it? And if i have to download it, is it free?
July 17th, 2009 @ 6:03 am
I just got my copy! And it's awesome!

Thanks Andrew! Worth the money!
July 20th, 2009 @ 9:16 pm

November 5th, 2009 @ 7:55 pm

January 1st, 2010 @ 3:40 am
Please please make a tutorial about the fire embers!!!
April 5th, 2010 @ 10:06 am
Fabolous Trailer Animation as well as Sounddesign to the score. "Killer Tracks" is always a good solution I think...

Greetings from Germany
Tilen H
May 21st, 2010 @ 11:42 pm
Andrew can you make a tutorial on that action essentials 2 trailer ?
May 31st, 2010 @ 8:26 pm
I've been trying to find a tutorial on creating the fire embers. Can't find anything yet. Maybe an embers tutorial would be nice! They look great!
October 25th, 2010 @ 8:22 am
Hello Andrew Kramer,
Was the metallic text made in a 3d program (3ds, c4d etc) or was it made in AE using you technique or a plugin? Please tell me how did you do.
March 18th, 2011 @ 2:41 pm
I ordered Action Essentials Pack 2 yesterday and it is already here today. Just wanted to say you guys are awesome and thanks for all the great stuff.
