Awesome!

When you hover the mouse over the website navigation buttons, they return to the old site buttons which is a little weird.

Great stuff, can’t wait for Action Essentials!

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:03 pm

Brad, you just need to hard refresh and they will eventually update.

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:05 pm

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:11 pm

Love the new site design. I did love the other one too but this one is a bit more well laid out. Who ever your web developer is is a pretty sharp edge… I’m someone deserves a hug… :P

Anywho, still thanks for the awesome FREE tutorials and I am fo’ shizzles getting the 2K version!! Keep it up man!

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:12 pm

Oh, its Patrick Otten… good job Pat!

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:14 pm

Thanks Callum, I actually do all of the design on the site but I really have to thank our programmer Patrick who actually codes it out and makes it work in a browser.

When I used to do websites, I designed them specifically in a ways to avoid html issues but now I just do what I want and let him worry about it. He’s the man.

sr. Andrew Kramer
thanks for sharing your talent it is of great inspiration for me.

Ed
June 26th, 2009 @ 6:47 pm

My only worry is regarding the length of each footage. Example: If you want to do a burning fire for, 30 seconds or so. If you have a quick fire footage you won’t be able to accomplish that.

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:49 pm

Ed, well most fire clips are about 500 frames or about 20 seconds. I can’t image a VFX shot longer than that but you can also make a loop by mixing elements and blending them together.

June 26th, 2009 @ 6:49 pm

SO COOL!!! The site looks awesome and I wish I had the money for AE2! :)

As a beginner in AE I have found your tutorials very helpful! I am learning quite a bit and I am always looking for tutorials to help me disect and learn! The new Action Essentials looks like a great tool – and for the cost the 2K looks to be the best buy.

Great job and keep it up! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! *L*

Site looks great Andrew..Hey how about a AE2 video contest to see who can integrate the material in the most creative way, and give out t-shirts, VCP bundles, or maybe $100,000 to the winners?

More than anything on this site, I love seeing how others integrate your tutorials and products into their own projects.

I can’t wait for Riot Gear 2 and maybe Real Clouds 2 or even Video Streams 2… (I still don’t have RC or VS yet..)

One quick note… I noticed that AE2 is the only product the you have the DVD case facing in a different direction.

But I just realized that would be because you’re showing the label on the side of the DVD cases and not where the case opens.. gotchya…

Jason
June 26th, 2009 @ 10:21 pm

Andrew is making things so easy for us……All of the different elements, the glass, debris, and everything else. I was testing something out over a year ago and wanted to do an explosion and make it look like my sliding glass door got blown out. I did not have the luxury of having glass elements that I could just put in the scene so I had to make them, I used the shatter effect and it worked pretty well but would of been way easier if I had AE2. Thanks for making life easier for us Andrew. If anyone wants to check out the explosion I did here is the link. I think it came out really cool and I cant wait to blow more stuff up!!!!

June 27th, 2009 @ 5:11 am

btw, in a previous tutorial, you taught us how to create a meteor fireball falling from the sky using the trapcode particular. I am hoping I can create a more realistic meteor fireball now with Action Essentials 2. Please do guide me on that…

When I started using this powerful tool that is After Effects, I used a tutorial book to get started with it. But I never really realized how unlimited this software is. It is really when I discovered videocopilot.net that I started to be able to use the software on my own. Andrew you make things so easy and you provide thousands of tips that save a lot of time. Your capacity to teach us all these things is outstanding. Everyone, beginners and advanced users, learn a lot here. Most interestingly you continuously improve the quality of the products and the tutorials. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience and congratulations for the quality of this website, not only the new features revealed by clearing caches :) but also for the content and the way you present it.

Thanks a lot from Belgium and I can’t wait to receive the ActionEssentials2 !!

By the way, I am using a lot of your techniques for short films I shoot with some friends and I had liked to give credits to this website, do you have a nice video clip I can use for that?

Very nice new design. The old one was great, but this one is even better. Great work Patrick ;-)

I noticed a small mistake. If you go to “Tutorials” you have these small icons for the program (nice idea). But for the 3D Text Tutorial in Cinema 4D is the After Effects icon. I just wanted to mention that.

Thanks for all the work VC Team!

Amazing work Andrew, have ordered the 720p version this morning.

Not only are these elements a cut above any other collection I’ve seen, but the price point is simply incredible.

Looking forward to creating some chaos! ;)

This is the coolest project i’ve seen in years. I’m trying to learn Houdini to make some major vfx shots and here you are showing off some of the finest through ‘simple’ compositing techniques. Thanks so much for that. I think the quality of many a low-budget project will see drastic improvements in the coming months.

June 27th, 2009 @ 8:08 am

I don’t really like the tutorials new layout cuz’ you have to go through several pages. And if I choose the presets and put my arrow over one of the pictures to see the example it doesn’t play. I have cleared the cache. :)

I think that I’ve found the hero of the day!

June 27th, 2009 @ 9:48 am

Andrew… dude… you are AWESOME!!

I’ve just bought my copy of the Action Essentials 2 package and I haven’t been able to stop running around town, screaming in joy! I hope that thing you said about your international delivery including camels was a joke, though… cuz out here in the Middle East, it can take a while to get something that you’ve ordered online!

Besides, camels can spit in your eye and it gets really messy. Anyway, LOVE the new website! Oh, and your tutorials are totally SICK I love em!

Congrats on working on Star Trek, I know it’s old news, but I just heard… and I just want to thank you for being an inspiration and a great teacher! Great things will come to you, my friend. Great, great things.

Howdy Andrew:

I don’t see where shipping was charged for my order of the 702p version. Please do not delay shipping because of this oversight. I agree (by this note) to pay the additional charges. Thanks for the terrific product.

Thanks Andrew, this product will be great and save me soooooo much time for a current project.

Did you film against a black matte in a dark room?

One of you guys must know something about fire, how the heck did you get all those different type of explosions?
Once again, thanks for the hard work. Can’t wait to use this.

Maybe a lame question, but it Action Essentials 1 still available or will it be coming back in the future?

Keep up the great work… and, Andrew, thanks for teaching me After Effects through all the tutorials on your site. My resume owes you big time! Your site is beyond anything else out there!

Thanks Andrew, CTRL + F5, awsome learned something new. AGAIN!

June 27th, 2009 @ 12:16 pm

Andrew, looks terrific.

Any chance of us seeing some behind the scenes of the making of the Action Essentials 2? (the process of videotaping / keying these elements)…

June 27th, 2009 @ 12:21 pm

Sefan: Yes I used an animated mask on the bus. I put the dust layer on top.

David: The presets never had video thumbnails and you can see the entire list of tutorials on the main tutorial page at the bottom. We use pagination on the “all Tutorials” list so that we can display larger images.

June 27th, 2009 @ 12:23 pm

I think we will have some behind the scenes stuff in the first video blog episode.

Kai
June 27th, 2009 @ 12:48 pm

I love it! I think Charley has the right idea, i would love to see some behind-the-scenes on AE2.

This is so cool!

June 27th, 2009 @ 12:55 pm

when is the video blog coming out?

Dayill
June 27th, 2009 @ 12:58 pm

Does the 2k box set also include the 720p elements?

June 27th, 2009 @ 1:04 pm

Dayill, the 2K DVDs were already maxed out so what I did was created a project file (CS3) for down converting to 720p. All of the output modules have been modified and ready to render with the same settings.

June 27th, 2009 @ 1:15 pm

June 27th, 2009 @ 1:24 pm

I’m really looking forward to the video blog!

June 27th, 2009 @ 1:29 pm

Hey guys, right now we are not planning to add any new bundles. We feel this product has tremendous value and would be a great addition to anyone’s bag of tricks.

June 27th, 2009 @ 1:31 pm

Hi!

Congrats on a fabulous new product.

I cannot wait.

going inane.

Slowy insane.

Very insane.

KILL ME!

Sorry. The tension got to high.

June 27th, 2009 @ 1:44 pm

McKramer (yep, not a BURGUER), you’re my frikkin’ hero now xD, mmm well, you’ll probably have to fight with Steve Harris war bass lines, but you get the point.

Again, thank you for your amazing black magic spells, fire crackers and big explosions!

Greetings from Chile (Not a Hot Chile!), the south from no where! :D

2K vs iPhone 3G S… AK, you’ve won the battle for 12th time!

Hey Andrew and the rest of the vcp team! Thank you so much for making such an incredible asset for the vfx community and at only 250 bucks! You guys are absolute legends. But you gotta do one more thing and shoot anamorphic lens flares for compositing too!!!

too$hort
June 27th, 2009 @ 2:04 pm

dude!!!

is there a way I can buy your whole stock to keep my competition from learning the tricks of the trade?!?

LOL!!!

This is my first comment ever on your site/blog but I have been following your site for about 3 years now.

You basically saved my life, man.

As a struggling filmmaker, I wanted to make a high concept film that was cheap at the same time…and I mean cheap…

like maybe a film with a $5,000 budget

and that’s how I found you.

I wanna be Michael Bay, on a budget.

I had almost lost hope, but you gave it back to me…

and for that, I cannot thank you enough.

I am currently saving for my film and I will be hitting you up with some questions and “donations”

Andrew Kramer, you fricking rock dude!!!

June 27th, 2009 @ 2:06 pm

Hey Andrew,

This is going to change independent film / video making forever.

We are very much in your debt. Looks absolutely fantastic.

Toby

June 27th, 2009 @ 2:08 pm

This is an amazing site… I just found this last week and I have been spending 4-6 hours a day on this. The production quality of the video is amazing. I am a Flash Designer/Developer and putting something like this on the web with interactivity would be amazing. I am pushing the company I work for to buy the whole suite… EVERYYYTHING….

Still have to figure couple of things file size compression n all .. i hope the forum helps…

You have said that “The 10 Pack bundle may be the only bundle we WOULD offer that will include Action Essentials 2.”

Would this be the 2K version or the 720 version?

Will the free shipping for the 2K version extend to this bundle?

Adrian
June 27th, 2009 @ 4:21 pm

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!
Great work!!!

June 27th, 2009 @ 4:36 pm

We were going to do a 10 pack bundle but we decided that having 2 versions of the 10 pack might be more confusing so instead we will just keep them separate.
