Wired with J.J. Abrams!

J.J. Abrams ‘took’ over Wired magazine as a guest editor this month and injected some of his inspiring philosophy and clever wit.   It’s a fun read if you get a chance to check it out.

Now if you look hard enough, he even mentions Video Copilot as something he wishes was around when he was younger. Read that part. Needless to say, it was pretty freaking cool to see this in a magazine. Definitely put a big smile on my face.

What’s more awesome, was actually working with him on the Main Credits for the new Star Trek movie! It was an honor to collaborate with J.J. again and I can’t wait to see the movie on the big screen! I hope you guys will be there too.

Hi Andrew,

so I had to read you made the Title-Animation for Star Trak and Fringe (the series just started down here on TV).

I would be very interested seeing what else you are doing for professional movies and stuff.
I understand if you don’t wanna make any advertise for yourself or make it a big thing, but I’m just interested.

Regards,
Lucas

Congrats Andrew! That is a HUGE accomplishment! I can’t wait to see the movie.

by Anthony Miller

That’s so funny. I remember seeing the opening titles to “Fringe” and thinking “Wow, whoever did that sequence is freaking talented and unreal.” I had no idea it was the guy practically in my backyard. Kudos to you, Andrew. You never cease to amaze me.

Now I’m REALLY looking forward to Star Trek!

Guess you’ll be able to afford the RED now.

Congrats on the gig. I love JJ, although I’m not a big star trek fan, Cloverfield was AWESOME and Fringe is a great show.

Congratulations man! Really happy for ya!

Wow Andrew… that’s fantastic. I had never seen the show Fringe but just went on youtube and saw the opening sequence. It’s got your name wirtten all over it!
Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
We really appreciate it!
I (and I’m sure we all) would like to see more of your work.
Can’t wait for Action Essentials 2! I have a dog I want to blow up!… digitally of course.

This was mentioned on the forum twice! Congrats on the job and I can’t wait to see the movie. :)

Congrats and Congrats.
Proud of ya buddy. :)

That is awesome! Cant wait to see your stuff!

-James Cawley

Wow Andrew I wish I was you.
I have but one question and it would mean the world to me if it was answered.
Did you help with the effects all throughout the making of the first season of Fringe?

No flippin’ way!!! You sneaky devil, you. You are OFFICIAL!
Graphics for one of the most anticipated films?
Im jeaaalouuus.

Thats so cool :)

Congratulations!

QUESTION:

**what was your role in the main credits? Team? How many?

I didn’t want to see the new Star Trek movie but not that I know you worked on it(even just a little bit) I want to go see it!

Congratulations! you really deserve such a blessing because you continue to bless us with your great tutorials. I’ve never watch Star Trek but now I have to watch it :)

Andrew you deserve more than this man.

Nice job on the mention and the work with Abrams! Two of my idols crossing paths yet again…

“can’t wait to see it on big screen” means you have already seen it on small or HD ???
and for the mention in the magazine I think you deserve it ;)

by Dustin James

You really created the main credits for the new star trek movie? I don’t ever type these cliches but OMG!! HFC!! (holy freaking cow) OMG!!

I can’t wait to see.

Kramer I guarantee because you helped made the credits, a LOT of people are going to watch this movie just to see em. Trust me. :)

Congratulations Andrew,
that´s awesome. I´m happy for you and J.J. seems to appreciate the work you´re doing with vc very much.
Can´t wait to see the movie on the big screen!

Way to go!

Hey man, I saw star trek last week. I saw the title and I KNEW you worked on it, I could totally tell.

very good job !
i just wonder what is the size of a composition in after effect for a movie title… ;)

Wow. I believe that’s it. From now on, you will really earn a packet with your great skills. the major film studios will brawl over you. hope you’ll still find time to provide your fans with wicked tutorials and other hot stuff!

i was thinking about watching it…
BUT NOW I AM PRE-BOOKING!!!!

awsomenesss

Dan

To be honest I’m not suprised you worked on star trek. JJ seems the type of person who knows quality when he sees it and im sure we can see you working on more jj stuff, and hopefully moving on to more. You are a genuine inspiration to all of us who take film making in any of its aspects seriously. Thankyou

Gonna definitely look out for that…. good to see great talent being recognised………thanks for all the knowledge you pass on to us… VCP is a massive inspiration…

andrew! found you on imdb :)

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3135304/

Andrew, Congratulations! :) This is great! I can’t wait to see your work in more movies!

hm, you mean 08.05.2009 or? 08 May?

Sylar is Spock? =]

You get some top jobs Andrew! Well done!

I did not know you did the titles for both fringe and star trek. awesome work.

by Terrance Rogers

Andrew, I read the article over the weekend. Good stuff. Knowing that you worked on the titles, I’m even more amped about seeing the movie! Keep up your amazing work. Thanks for all AE help and amazing products. You guys are awesome.

Yeah Andrew, we are all very proud of you and now we can go around saying stuff like “The guy who did the opening titles for Fringe and Star Trek etc is actually my AE and 3DMax tutor” people might not believe us but hey we know we not lying… We are all really proud of you dude and the rest of the team …. and Im glad I came across Video Copilot when I did… you guys rock the boat!

Video Copilot Forever!

Oh My god, I actually said to my girlfriend when we first saw the trailer “That looks just like something that tutorial guy i watch on the internet would make” she suitably responded “oh thats nice….”, but seriously, you seem to be able to leave a subtle “kramer stamp” on your work, can’t quite put my finger on it, but theres defiantly “kramerish” to the work you produce. *High five* and much love!

by Codemonkey123

Awesome Mr Kramer. I would have gladly killed Sam to get a shot at working on the Star Trek project. Now when I see the movie I will be looking for your genius at work. Congrats

YOU DID IT! :)

Question: At which format did you work for the titles? 4k? 2k? How did you manage the huge amount of data in AE? I have always to deal with memory issues when working with such dimensions.

Great thing, now M. CA is my personal place of pilgrimage :D

I agree with Jimmy, we have all watched and learnt and re-watched your work, when I saw the trailer I turned to my mate and said “I recognise those lens flares!!” Honestly I think your stuff is always fresh and exciting, ‘cos you give it what Stu Maschwitz calls the “Kiss of Love”…I think thats what he calls it anyhows… the pure magic!

Is that you promise us whom you will make of tutoriel in Star Trek use ?

Very impressive! I’ll be sure to check out the movie :)

Absolutely fantastic.

and the work is payingoff now ;)
Bravo!

Congratulations Andrew,,
thanks for your goodness
thanks to share your knowledge.
Bravo!!!
Berboy MEX

Congratulations. My wife is a huge Star Trek fan so now she’s not mad at me anymore for keeping our young son out so late on a school night to come and see your presentation at AENY.

I really loved this link http://www.videocopilot.net/contact/company/ A real kick to virtually meet the VC / Final Image Team.

Rock on Brother Men!

i saw that sam is an editor also, can he make a tut some time? could be funny haha :)

ANDREW KRAMER AWESOME MAN DUDES ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by filibertsi ranana

is make Andrew Kramer a STARS TREK??? make partikular, yes ?

Hi Andrew,

Really happy for you. Well deserved feeback.

I was wondering if you could share with us how it all came down? Did JJ call you? Did you apply for the postion? Stuff like that.

Thanks
Mike

Wow…just for that..i will go see the movie :D

Great on the article!! I’ve got to wait till my Dad gets back home before I go see the movie….gonna take him with me! I grew up watching Star Trek with him so its only fitting!
Vic

That is pretty bad ass!

awesome news….looking forward to the movie…looks killer! :)

by FatHeadMedia

Congrats Andrew!

Humility is a fabulous trait to posess…and you, Andrew, have it in the utmost! Your talents in the visual and training arenas are to be greatly commended and I encourage you to keep it up. I watch every tutorial you make, purchase your stuff, and read all of your posts because they are GOOD! But what astounds me, every time it occurs, is when someone gives you a shout-out on a grand stage like “Wired,” you react in such a humble way like, “it was pretty freaking cool…” as if you had never been recognized in this way before. You do what you love, you make others love it, and that is why I will keep supporting you! Thanks for being real, and thanks for EVERYTHING you offer to the world. And pass that onto your offspring, too!

by Bryan Benitez

Standing “O”! Congrats Andrew!!

Can’t wait to see it myself. But they got Cap. Kirk all wrong. Dispite what they show in the trailers, he can’t drive stick. If you watch the original episode “A Piece Of The Action” Kirk with Spock try to drive a car to the “Boss’s” house and have a very hard time because it is a stick.

Anyway, Looking forward to the main credits. You should use that as a tutorial. Where you using 3D or AE? Or a mix of both? ;)

I had to read that bit in Wired a few times before I believed it! I’m so happy for you and I don’t even know you, but it must have been quite the thrill. I’ll be thinking of VCP on May 7th!!! Just think, you’re a part of Trek history now!!!!!!!

Gratulations there, that’s really cool!
I’m excited to seeing J.J. Abrams’ and your work on the big screen! :)
Does anyone know if and where there is a possibility to get my hands on this issue? I looked for it already when I read about it on firstshowing.net, but I couldn’t find an option to order just this issue without subscribing to the magazine.

c-r-u-x

By the way – I’m from Germany. Just to make sure there won’t be any clever “go to a kiosk and buy it there”-answers. :P

Nice to know that Hollywood is finally taking notice of your team and their amazing work.

I was eagerly anticipating Star Trek and now I just can’t wait any longer. I know it will be amazing.

Is this what the screenshots you showed a couple of months ago are from??? I guess we’ll just have to see.

by TheOneProduction

Really Cool.
i hope i can make a living out of this one day.

Hehe nice man. Respect. Waiting for some new cool tuts. Cheers.

Congrats, thats awsome

I was already looking forward to Star Trek like a crazy child, and now I have another reason! That’s so insanely cool, Andrew. Congrats a lot!

Congrats man! It’s funny that in a strange way I feel special that I’ve been reading the blogs of the man that made the titles for Star Trek. Love this interweb.

Gratz, really awsome

Wow i’m gonna see the movie just because of the credits/titles!!

Filip

U deserve all the recognition and accolades given plus lots more. You reap what you sow…believe that!

by Joris Strickx

Very nice. This could be your way in into the big ones. Same here, but with stunts then. It was hard to get into the big movie business but once you’re in, you’re really in. And J.J. ain’t a small one. We got a chance by one of the biggest movie directors here in Belgium (even tho it’s a small country :p) and since then we have a lot of work. We never made any publicity and we’re in the movie business now for about 10 years. If you do your job well, their mouths do the rest. Congrats man. The future looks very bright for you.

Wow! thats great! This movie has such a good reviews!!!!! not only that but my favorite actor sylar… from heroes plays spock.

by Ryan Griffin

That Star Trek news is awesome Andrew! Your collab on the Fringe opening title resulted in one of the coolest TV show openings in recent memory. Can’t wait to see what you guys did with Star Trek!

he is absolutely dead on, Andrew.
your approach to teaching powerful techniques with VFX has personally inspired me to experiment and imagine.
now im no JJ abrams, but i guarantee some of your subscribers will become the next jj abrams.

The work in the trailer is all done by another team.

oh yes!! Right afte AK!!

LOL!

SOOOOOO SWEET MAN!

Cant wait too see what you do for MY movies ;)

(Im the next Stephen Spielberg btw)
(no joke)

Speaking of titles, any chance of a tutorial based on The Watchmen’s opening credits, they were awesome

Congratulations. Totally deserved.

aweeeeeeeeesoommeeeeeeee andrew u rule!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m very impressed that you worked with J.J. Abrams in Star Trek and Fringe, because I am really a Fan of his work, especially Lost. Im from Germany and your tutorials and your products really helped me pushing my effects in my movie which I am working on for four years now ;)

Wow – that’s SO weird… I saw the opening to FRINGE and IMMEDIATELY thought of Andrew. Who knew?

Congrats Andrew , you even deserve better.

Wow, that is fantastic. Congrats. The titles for Fringe are always a treat to see. Any possibility of doing a case study tutorial/showcase on how you created that title sequence?

by Drei Anthony

Congratulations! were you also involved in creating the site for star trek?

Wasn’t planning on watching the movie, but after finding out you worked on the main credits, I’m gonna go see it just for that!

I aspire to do work like you one day, and perhaps even better….is that possible….

We want Andrew in Lost Island too..

This thread is proof that nerds have testosterone.

SPOCK LIVES!

Well done! Looking forward to seeing those titles. Did you get a credit at the end also? If not, you should at least negotiate for a “The producers would like to thank Sam Loya for allowing Andrew Kramer to disintegrate him, freeze him, run him over, etc.”

WOAH! it’s like your awesomeness and famousness was indigenous to us, and then here you are apart of the real world, off the computer, making title animations for MAD famous things and people

and now since our captain has made the titles the movie is going to be richer by at least the average 600,000 vcp fans. (am I right?)

Rock on Captain.

ANDREW KRAMER YOU ROCK!!!!!

I really appreciate the free tutorial you give us. I’ll buy a DVD one of these days to show support.

I LOVE THIS SITE! God Bless you and your talents.

hey andrew,

long time viewer, first time poster. just wanted to say thanks for all the tutorials and awesome tips. this is definitely the most helpful website i have ever come across since i’ve gained an interest in video production and visual effects.

i was at a cincinnati reds game last night, and i thought you would like to know that the video that plays on the brand new, ten million dollar, HD, ginormatron that introduces some of the hometown players makes great use of the futuristic HUD tutorial. i looked up at the sixty foot screen and said, ‘hey, i know how to do that!’

thanks again,
dan

As a trekker.. I just can’t wait for this movie. Now I have other reason for that: I’ll see Kramer’s good work :)

Congratulations, Andrew!

from brazil ;)

Did you meet the cast?

Dude!!!! How friggin awesome! No I really can’t wait to see the movie!!!

I can be like, ” I kinda know the guy that did that!”

Perhaps there’s a tutorial here, Andrew? Something about working with a director, rather than just our own ideas??

Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease???

Honestly, I have zero interest in seeing this movie, but I will go see it just for your sequence!

Andrew,

Got to see the movie last night at the Paris premiere.

Can’t say that I did not see some AK touch in the credits and when reading your blog this morning I was like ‘I knew there was something about it!”.

Anyway I definitely can feel the vibe in this new generation of artists that you and Abrams are part of.

And I can’t hope for anything but more projects like this one in which truly amazing talented people are given a chance to collaborate together to bring us amazing movies to the big screen.

Congrats again and let’s bring this new AE/smart eye director generation to make more movies like this one!

Arno

Congratulations Adrew! Very happy for you.
I’m sure you ‘re gonna kick some ass in the holywood sfx world ! I bet on that !!

I’d sincerelly want to thank you once again for all the amazing tutorials and tips you share with us.

Next time you’re at a party:

“I get my compositing tips from the guy who did Star Trek. Why, who’s teaching you?”

Hey all!
I just watched Star Trek on screening for journalists here in Croatia. It was awesome.I won’t give any spoilers, I’ll just say that it was funny and you grow to love the characters quickly. And yes the end titles scream Andrew Cramer. We who know him and his style will immediately recognize his work.
Bravo Andrew!

Andrew Krazy-mer,

If i had credits to my life, id use you :P

Hey man!
I’m from Brazil and I have been watching your tutorials for a while. I just started to “play” with After Effects, and everything I know is thank to you.
But that was pretty amazing! I really love to watch series and I had no idea that you were in Fringe!
Since I started to watch it I’ve been wondering how to do those 3D titles who appear on every episodes, in different places.
I don’t know if you made those but I was hopping you can tell us how =)
Congratulations, man!
Thanks for everything!

that is fantastic to hear you worked on star trek. you deserve it mate. my prayers for your full success. with out you and copilot i for one would have never touched or know how to open after effects. i dont know much on after effects but what ever i have learnt was all because of you. you have given me a chance to learn something. thank you very very much. all the best

I was lucky enough to see an early screening of Star Trek on Saturday. All I have to say is WOW… I was blown away. As a trek nerd I have to say this is what the series needed. Congratulations Andrew on the awesome credits! It really had your name all over it (did you use sure target???).

I can’t wait to pay next week to see it again when it comes out!

It’s great, man! Andrew: You have the Power…

Would you mind running down the list of applications you used on the title sequence?

Just read an article about cameo’s and fun facts on the new trek flick and AK is mentioned.

I´ve seen your name.

greets from Germany

great job! the credits are awesome :) your cool style

and btw. the movie is epic

by Virgilio Troncoso Junior

Congrats! Andrew I can’t wait to see this movie!

Dude, this is awesome! Movies are becoming more independent now days and streaming out into more public venues for real talent. To actually be able to interact with someone who has worked on big budget film making is exciting to me. I am really excited to see this film as a film lover and a loyal fan.

Just saw the movie… all I can say is awesome! Saw your name in the credits Andrew, great work.

OMG!!! This movie was AMAZING, and a really cool thing happened too. I read this blog post a day or two ago, and got kinda excited to see what you had done for the movie, so on the way into the theater I told my buddy how you had worked on the credits. So, anyways, when we saw them (they were insane, by the way) he looked at me and was like, “Holy sh**! These ARE sweet! that guy (Andrew Kramer) is pretty good!” and I of course replied, “Yup, he’s pretty much my hero!” Props dude!

PS – Did you help with any of the special effects on the film? Just curious because I was watching them a lot closer since I just recently started taking your tutorials and some of the special effects reminded me of them.

Andrew,

Awesome work on the credits.. :)

by Lightchaser

Andrew,
Great job on the main credits bro. I just saw the premiere of Star Trek and it was awesome seeing your wok on the big screen. I even stayed and watched the end credits just to see your name on there. Way to go bud!

by Lightchaser

I meant it was great seeing your work not wok…lol

Just saw Star Trek and can i just say andrew. The second those credits came on even if you hadn’t told us, I would have known. Classic Andrew Kramer motion graphics. Absolutly amazing very good mate. Andrew Kramer takes it to the next level

I just saw the film, and waited to see your name in the credits, congrats from las vegas. Keep up the good work Andrew and stay an inspiration to everyone here

-lucas

Congrats on the mention.

I just got back from watching Star Trek, and your work was definitely recognisable – absolutely awesome work. I think I recognised parts from atleast a dozen of your tutorials and presets. I am inspired to create something like that for myself now.

Must go and re-watch all the tutorials again now.

Well done, and keep up the great work.

by Bryan Benitez

Andrew!!! I just sasw Star Trek great job on the credits! Did I see SureTarget in the mix? :) Congrats!

I saw star trek too and waited to see your name in the credits to see if it was true!

Awesome to see the teacher on the big screen!

Awesome…stayed to see your name in the credits…another victory for us AE geeks!

by Jack Jakaria MBS

Andrew Kramer, congrats to you!!!
You deserve it mate. Thanks to your tutorials, I have learned to use AE. Upuntil I saw madcow tutorials and video copilot, I knew nothing! Thanks to you and your sharing of knowledge I have a new skill. I will always credit all my work with thanks to you.

Thank you and all the best.

I was at the Premiere of Star Trek here in Norway. And I could almost without even knowing you were involved here, see that them credits were somewhat by you. Looked so great, a perfect fit for credits.

And about the movie. I am not really a fan of Star Trek. People with wrinkles at the size of watermelons in the face are apparently aliens… Lame, but this was something else. This movie was so good, I was so surprised with how good it all looked compared with the old Star Trek. This stuff was amazing. you were lucky with what movie you got to make the credits too.

Congrats again,
-Ryko

Just saw Star Trek! Wow!!! Loved those credits. Man, what a job!

Congrats !

For me, i waited in the ending generic just to see your name in the credits. :D

HEY ANDREW
I saw your name in the credits and i thought to mysalf “ZOMG!!!! MY HERO EFFECTS GUY WAS A PART OF STAR TREK!!!!!”
congrats man

Dude just saw the movie, awesome, simply amazing. I could see your handy work everywhere.

by Kyle Brodeur

Just watched Star Trek today! What an excellent movie. I could defiantly tell by the style of the Titles that they were yours. And surly I had to stay through all the credits to make sure our boy andrews name was listed. it feels pretty awesome to know that they guy that gives us free tutorials frequently is featured in a big time movie.

Thanks, Andrew.
Excellent work.

by visitor1970

Congratulations Andrew on the Star Trek titles.
Hopefully Cinefex covers your involvement in the next issue.

Good job with the titles! I had to sit in the end of the credits just to see your name :)

I do believe that the main credits were the coolest shots in the whole movie. I think they went a little over board with trying to simulate a real camera with their graphic shots. The amount of lens flares along with camera shake made me dizzy.

Complimenti Andrew!!! dal tuo discepolo italiano!:D

by Terrance Rogers

SICK man!!! Really sick.

Saw the Star Trek film in the Netherlands, and yes I saw Andrew Kramer in the credits! hehe! Nice job! And the film was great too!

hey andrew,
just saw the new star trek movie!
it was very cool, but even better was looking through the ending credits to find your name under “main title design”. that must feel really great….good job!

by Dark Pivot

Wow! I just saw the movie! It’s amazing! Great job on the credits dude, they were pretty cool. I love your work.

Just so you know, I waited until the very end of the Star Trek credits, just to see your name. ;)

Andrew: Saw Star Trek with a bunch of my friends today. The movie is awesome. For those who haven’t seen it I won’t give any clues, but it’s worth going to see.

Question 1: Did you design or work with a team on the title, or only the credits at the end. The end credits where cool 3D effects with a Video Copilot flare.

Question 2: Were the effects done in AE, or some steroid program for film?

Question 3: Were you or Video Copilot mentioned in the end credits. (Sorry the guys I was with were about to have a fit to leave, and I did get to hang around and see all the credits)

You gotta be mighty proud to be part of the Star Trek film!

Keep the ideas coming my friend!!

I meant to write:

“I did NOT get to hang around and see all the end credits”, but I did see a few, just not all of them.

Man Andrew,

I just saw Star Trek tonight. THAT was THE MOST INCREDIBLE MOVIE EXPERIENCE I have ever had!! And I’m not even a trekkie! Seriously, I’m so glad I live in a day and age where humans can make movies with that kind of calibre and imagination.

You are extremely fortunate to have been a part of that beast :D

Fantastic stuff!

Hey – Saw the movie – didn’t catch this post, saw your name in the credits, was like – hey , I know who that guy is :) .

They were some good credits man, gotta say, props.

Congratulations.
Getting your name and your work on something as big as Star Trek is a truly impressive feat.

I’ll be watching out for it too.

i just saw star trek (fantastic movie by the way)… kudos for the main titles sequence, man

Just saw Star Trek yesterday, awesome movie and great job on the credits, could definitely tell it was your work. Did you make the planets for the credits as well?

I just saw the Star Trek movie yesterday in IMAX and I was wondering why the look and feel of the title sequence felt so familiar. Now I come on here to your blog to discover that I had not seen that you had been working on the title for it. Great Job!

Although I did have a friend who is in the projection industry comment to me today that the title was too large and not far enough back today, but I loved it, as I do your tutorials.

the movie was great !!
and I couldn’t wait to see how you did the titles
which were awesome of course !!
did you partake in the special effect of Vulcan imploding?
that was great as well

I am a big stickler for intros and titles
I love the way Guy Ricthie movies start up

KEEP SHINING VC !!!

Andrew,

Long time fan of your website, first time poster. Excellent work on the titles. It was fun to see it, and at least feel a little that you knew the man that had a hand in creating them.

Thanks so much for sharing your expertise with us. I have learned so much in the few short months that I have been visiting. You are a credit to your profession, and a highly prized asset to us.

Thanks again,

Chris

Great work Andrew! Just saw the film and paid tribute to the credits. It was really neat seeing a name I know in the credits.

The movie was great and so were the titles.

What fun…

I just watch the movie the other day.. and i didn’t know that you were the one who made the credits.. at first I thought.. This looks like one of the tutorials at videocopilot.net because I saw the resemblance of the sure target preset and the motion blur of the stars as the camera moves into one target to the next, I was thinking for a sec at that time, nah maybe some dude who made this watched the tutorials of andrew kramer and now I saw this.. effin cool mehn! Congratulations to you. :)

Saw the Star Trek movie last night and really enjoyed it (and I’m not a trekkie or sci-fi fan either!). Nice work on the titles – what a great project to have worked on!

by paulo cabral

i Watched the movie on Friday.
I confess that I did not know that the main title was made for you. But he drew much my attention … Congratulations Andrew! you are great!

The credits were great indeed. It looked like you were using a sure target type of movement. Wooshing around in space, from planet to the next. Great stuff.
A funny thing i noticed also about the Bad Robot logo. Fractal noise was used in the background.

Andrew i was able to watch the movie Bro it’s been a while since I’ve been here i got a lot of things going on shooting in the Philippines but anyway i didnt know you where part of it but when i watch it i saw your signature all over the movie …. surprisingly i was right, Rock on Bro I’m happy for you keep it up you deserve everything ….. as always good luck with everything and your familia from the Philippines and of course your crew …

respectfully yours Troxdfox

P.s. Bro it all start with a good heart and your an obvious example of that thanks man…

Drew you are the man. I loved the movie and I sat through the credits so I could see your work.

Just got back from Star Trek, fantastic job on the titles. Congrats!!! A great way to kick off the summer blockbuster season.

by John P. Gelety

GREAT GREAT GREAT job on the opening title for Star Trek. Combined with the bombastic score, it was so damn exciting. Congrats, Andrew!

Just saw the show. It’s easy to say now but I’m pretty sure I would have pegged the closing credits as your work without you letting us in on the secret. It was classic AK to the max and that means really good work.

The transition between individual credits appeared to be our old friend SureTarget.

Saw the movie Yesterday on the Imax! Great Movie! And Loved the Main Credits, Andrew! Saw your name and the end credits! Yahoo!!
Hope one day my name is on the big screen as well.

Thanx for al you inspering work!

Star Trek the movie was pretty good. But the icing on the cake was watching the credits, recognizing the handy work of a one talented Andrew Kramer, then reading your name. All your hard work has paid off big time! You continue to inspire and motivate AE users around the world with your tutorials and products.

Thank you

so i saw the movie…AMAZING…..what exactly did you do…i mean i know you could have done everything yourself cause your awsome like that :)

by Diego Gogni

THE WIRED ARTICLE WITH JJ

A W E S O M E…very very nice read.

Looks like they broke up your titles (beginning and end) am I right?

Watched the best movie of the summer tonight. I loved the entire film including the titles! I watched intently for your name Andrew and found it near the end. Props for an excellent run of creative credits which gave credit to amazing actors and directors – through your design work! I was cheering for you with my buddies in a nerdy trekky/ video copilot sort of way.

Hey Dude!
I went to see this movie last night and was utterly gobsmacked at your awesome credit sequence! You must be so stoked and proud! A big high five for an amazing piece of work!
A big Fan! (not the type with blades)
Pablo :) UK

Thanks everyone for your support it means a lot.

by Point Blank

Andrew Kramer, god of all things after effects. Those credits were epic, and thanks to you and this site I know how to make my own like them. Needless to say, I stuck around after the movie to see your name in the scrolling credits (LOL).

Great end titles, to a great movie! Your signature skills and prowess were all over that. :)

I got to agree with everyone just saw the Film….great! I was so happy to see that Mr. Abrams did such an amazing job at bringing new life back into the film. And that it was not a case of been there and done that.

Andrew great job with the titles, you must have been blown away yourself to see that your work has now been viewed by millions all over the world on huge screens…great work!

Everyone if you’ve the money to go – go and see for yourselves. Keep up the great work Andrew and everyone at VC. God bless you guys

Good job! That was great! Saw your name in the credits and clapped! :)

by Allister Gourlay

Hey Andrew saw the STAR TREK movie here in Scotland on the IMAX screen on 8th May…totally loved it! Saw your credits cool man totally cool what a buzz for you!
Also love the Fringe opening sequence and love the series! Well done to you!

Yeahh, I just saw the movie, and I wait all the end credits to see… : “Main title Design by Andrew Krammer” !!!!

可惜我英文太差

You really need to consider putting out a DVD on making some of those things you did during the titles.

Man just saw Star Trek.. Good going!!!! Awesome to know you have reached knew heights, and the biggest visual effects movie ever, as far as i am concerned. I don’t knw you but man i feel proud for you….. I don’t always write comments but i have been using your products for a good few years, back when you hosted dvd’s and were doing AE tuts on how to make wedding montages.. so to see your website rocking, and your work on the silver screen, really makes me feel proud. Excuse while i punch my fist thru a wall !! HELL YEAH!

by Ronn Trevino

Hey Andrew,
Just got done watching Star Trek.. I stayed all the way thru the credits just to catch your name as main title designer.. Nice going man. I made my company purchase all your Design DVDs. And have been using them for over a year now. You’ve forced me to learn expressions and Ive been kicking and screaming all the way but its been a great ride thanks for all you do and the inspirations and ideas you’ve supplied me with.

I seriously saw Star Trek just to see the credits. I was surprised though, because it was an awesome movie! The credits were awesome, did you use Sure Target or something like it? Thanks again for everything, I’m glad things seem to going well for you

by Oliver Jeskulke

Hi Andrew,
saw Star Trek yesterday and loved the titles. I watched the rolling titles and waited for your name. When it arrived I was very proud to know your site and your tutorials. Getting to learn something from someone who worked on Star Trek. Wow! Congratualations!

I am honestly very very jealous. Meeting JJ would make my year. And knowing you did the FRINGE intro, OH MY DAMN! was my first reaction.

I loved the credit in this movie!
I’ve been trying to figure a way in After Effects to do a similar one to both the main title and also to the titles in the trailer. Any suggestions from the major motion picture title creator? :)

btw. THATS JUST EPIC

Just got the BluRay 3 disc special edition.
Looking foward to watching that tonight with a bag of doritos & dip.

I dont like the new direction of the new film but i have a little bit more respect for it because Andrew worked on it

by metalliphyll

if you watch the movie with commentary they mention Andrew when the title card is on
