Online Tutorial DVD Almost Done!

Here is the preliminary artwork for our next mini-product, Video Copilot: Series One. The new Tutorial DVD will be available in 2 Versions: Standard and Special Edition. Both will contain all 50 free tutorials and project files but the Special Edition DVD will have many bonus features. Basically the Special Edition DVD is for the fans and the standard edition is for the people who just want to be able to watch the tutorials offline or on the road.

Sam might even sign a few copies in the first batch as well. Then again, I may not be able to stop him.

More details to follow, after these messages.

November 30th, 2007 @ 4:51 am
that is.... epic..
November 30th, 2007 @ 5:00 am
Epic, simply epic...

this journey begins in a world of BMX-ing with boring skies, when adrew kramer saves the day by climbing up the sky and putting pretty clouds out there. is continues all the way through with tino fighting with light sabers, visiting the ancient castles of the nowhere, and finally finishes off in the exploding of a long abandoned plant.

epic, yea!!!
November 30th, 2007 @ 5:08 am
you could have blended the actors with the bg a little more, it kinda looks like they are ust standing there photoshoped in
November 30th, 2007 @ 5:25 am

What will be the price for us UK VCP fans?

Keep the love going Kramer

Really nive DVD cover! I really like the punch line on it: 50 adventures, one incredible journey! Really Pro cover! Better than VVS movie compagnie! (with cheezy lens flare on it to simulate the "WOW" FX lol). I really like your work Andrew! Keep up good work!!

I was pondering Motion3 but when I saw the lessons here I decided on AE CS3. I will get the dvd when it comes out and will purchase a few others as well. Your free tutorials are great and it makes me want to buy your good products! Thank-you for sharing your talent. I am a newbi at all this and from this website alone I have learned a lot! Keep up the great work
November 30th, 2007 @ 7:56 am
Looks great, i hope the special edition has the tour you talked about :)
November 30th, 2007 @ 8:11 am

November 30th, 2007 @ 8:17 am

November 30th, 2007 @ 9:49 am
What an awesome cover! You continue to blow my mind with professional products. Hey, how about creating a MIX YOUR ON BUNDLE deal. Buy two get "X" dollars off, buy 3 get "X" dollars off, etc. The problem - at this time your two product bundle is with products I already own. I'd like to mix Evolution with one of your older products, plus this new "Video CoPilot - Series One". My wife keeps asking what do I want for Christmas. How about it Andrew - this would make a great Christmas gift!
November 30th, 2007 @ 10:12 am
Where did you get this awesome idea? Great!
November 30th, 2007 @ 10:13 am
the guy in the middle is HOT

is it you andrew?
November 30th, 2007 @ 10:17 am
I'll give it five stars! definitely!
November 30th, 2007 @ 10:33 am
I wanna buy it just for the cover :)
November 30th, 2007 @ 10:49 am
Dude; what an Awesome idea! Put me on the list for the Special Edition!!!!
Sam looks so Coy! lol
November 30th, 2007 @ 11:04 am

I am excited about this... I have been waiting for a while now!

@ Andrew

Would you consider letting us download the 3D Studio Max project of the DVD cases that you place your artwork on? That way we could use it as well.. if not I understand.

November 30th, 2007 @ 11:16 am
Hahahahahahahahahaha.....every time I don't think it's possible for me to love this site more, you go and do something like this. That's it. I'm starting the official Sam Loya fan club.

As usual, Andrew, you can count on me for a day one purchase, and I'll definitely be getting the special edition.

I'm still laughing over here...
November 30th, 2007 @ 11:22 am
That cover is hilarious.

What will the price difference be between the 2?
November 30th, 2007 @ 12:42 pm
How much is the special edition? And will it be out befor e Christmas?
November 30th, 2007 @ 12:52 pm

November 30th, 2007 @ 8:53 pm
Hello AK, I just sold some more of my entertainment devices to buy some work related equipment. I had some questions real fast about this product so I don't leave myself broke upon it's release.

Is the pricing still going to be in the 19.95 zone?
Is this a 2007 or 2008 release?

Also one last thing... A Bundle with Evolution option?
The General
November 30th, 2007 @ 9:00 pm
Can't Wait!!!!

Quick Questions:

Will the the Special Edition DVD contain After Effects Basic Training?

Keep up the Good Work. God Bless.
Jacob Aaron
November 30th, 2007 @ 9:37 pm
Wow this is cool! An awesome add to the collection.
November 30th, 2007 @ 10:44 pm
Too bad there wasn't a contest of some sort for making the DVD cover. That would have been great fun.

Anyway, it looks fantastic and I cant wait to get my hands on it!

December 1st, 2007 @ 2:04 am
will you be posting the basic training intro? will there be this tutorial?
December 1st, 2007 @ 3:18 am
I can`t wait it :)
LOL everybody videocopilot effect in BIG film production
Earth zoom is the same like from the tutorial here :)
Also i would like to know how to get the effect at the end when word "JMPR" changes with some kind of distortion to "JUMPER" awesome effect it will be cool if you make some tutorials for great text effects.
December 1st, 2007 @ 7:24 am
Can't wait to get a copy....

I'd like to second if possible to add the tutorials on the basics of how to use
AE onto this DVD....

December 1st, 2007 @ 7:28 am
Hey Andrew was just wondering... we always see you putting these crisp looking DVD cases for all the products on display. Maybe a tutorial on how to create these High def looking CG dvd case graphics? would also be cool if u included some of the glass buttons we see round the site! :) but this product looks great anyway.. cant wait to get it! I hope I get the signed copy! :)
December 1st, 2007 @ 8:27 am
Wow, really very very cool!!!!!I love all your tutorials!
Dustin James
December 1st, 2007 @ 10:19 am
@ Dixter

I Question it... all in favor say I... I!

it could be on the special edition.
December 1st, 2007 @ 11:09 am
We know how to roll.
December 1st, 2007 @ 12:02 pm
Looks just 100 % amazing.
December 1st, 2007 @ 12:50 pm
Darren said it. A tutorial on the design of the DVD case. But why not do an AE version of the blending techniques for video AND a print version at the end. Say, a AE and Photoshop tutorial. Moving to a complete cycle notion.

I'm getting the hang of the Adobe Encore workflow with Premiere and Photoshop now, and would love to see a PS -> AE -> Premiere -> Enc complete project. After all, that's what it seems we're doing.

THAT's how we really roll.

Gotta admit you're providing some great inspiration here. Nicely done.

December 1st, 2007 @ 12:55 pm
Sweet, only one thing wrong ... why is it only rated 4 stars ?

December 1st, 2007 @ 3:19 pm
Those are magic stars.
December 1st, 2007 @ 3:43 pm
AWESOME! I can't wait. I'm going to buy Evolution, but now I'll wait for this to come out so I can hopefully get Evolution and the Special Edition in a bundle. :)
One question though will this be a real DVD or a flash dvd like your serious effects and composting thing. I hope it's like in actually DVD so I can play it on the t.v. and follow along on the laptop. Anyways thanks for the AmaZinG products!
Dustin James
December 1st, 2007 @ 4:25 pm
I would think he would do like he does his product tutorials... the FLV will be in folders and then you open a html document...

I am excited about the quicktime files... you said they would be portable? Does that mean I can put the quicktime files on my phone?
G Mims
December 1st, 2007 @ 5:06 pm
Hey on Nov 30th the GENERAL, said, "Will the the Special Edition DVD contain After Effects Basic Training?" That's an excellent idea Andrew! More features, more value. Plus I'm seeing a lot of question about how to create the DVD case images. These are two great add on's customers would love to see. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! Keep up the great work my friend.
December 1st, 2007 @ 7:45 pm
Finally. I don't have internet, and I constantly hear from all my friends about this tutorial and that tutorial from your site. So now I can actually find time in my own home to watch all of your work and be caught up.

December 2nd, 2007 @ 7:56 am
LOOOL, HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE VERY WELL!!! LOOOL! -- Sorry, but that just made my day :P

Y'know, this looks great. Artwork's great, idea's great, 4 magic stars are great...

Three thumbs up! Hey, that's not right... Oh, right, Sam's here with me. No, I don't have any unsigned VCP product, Sam... No, I don't want your autograph on my head... No no NOOOO!!!

Well, I guess now everybody will think my name's Sem Lawyuh...

J/K, everything's great ;)
December 2nd, 2007 @ 9:27 am
So this DVD will have all the tutorials on a disc? sweet. Will it be possible to transfer the movie files onto an ipod??? Im getting that sick ipod touch and it would be sweet to be able to watch the tutorials on my lunch hour at the coffee shop next door to where I work :)
December 2nd, 2007 @ 11:49 am
Here is my first Serious Evolution project for anyone interested:

I didn't do the editing, just the motion graphics. My company also did the motion graphics and live feeds for the concert that is shown in the vid, where I got to film Charlie Murphy up close and personal!

I used Evolution, Riot Gear, and the new Trapcode Form plugin.

Thanks Andrew!
December 2nd, 2007 @ 3:49 pm
Hi Andrew,
Is this DVD with the tutorials from the Web Page,or with other Stuff?
Greetings from Germany;-)
December 2nd, 2007 @ 8:01 pm
Why is everyone asking how to make the 3D DVDs? I mean, they look nice and all, but you creating them is only a ripoff. Come up with something new. That's the whole point of all of this, so you can use your own creativity combined with Andrew's techniques to create something truly amazing.
Dustin James
December 2nd, 2007 @ 9:25 pm
those dvd cases aren't in any way an Andrew Kramer original idea... (maybe in 3ds max)..

most companies selling software based products create box art... I'm just tired of making Photoshoped Box Art... I thought it would be cool to get the 3ds max project file, cause I still do not know my way around that program.. just when i found this site a couple years ago.. I feel like andrew has been holding my hand all these years... and this site is a great place to learn AE..

There just isn't another great site like this for amazing products and tutorials for other apps..
December 2nd, 2007 @ 9:31 pm
@Dustin on your original 3dsMAX DVD which I'm sure you purchased, is many tutes on object creation. You'll be able to create a CD/DVD cover in no time...
Dustin James
December 2nd, 2007 @ 9:48 pm
@ Knakrz

It is my schools computers that i use 3ds max for...
December 2nd, 2007 @ 9:51 pm
DUSTIN any designer can do that, but i don't understand why you say isn't a original idea! it was your idea??!!

December 2nd, 2007 @ 10:10 pm
Hey Andrew,

You say that your are going to release 2 versions standard, for the casual videocopilot visitor, and Speacial Edition version for the hardcore fans... well how about an autographed version? and I'll take 2.
December 3rd, 2007 @ 12:04 am
Is this a 2007 or 2008 release?
Dustin James
December 3rd, 2007 @ 12:05 am

December 3rd, 2007 @ 12:50 am

Thanks for this great product. I remember when I bought 'The Filmmakers Bundle' box I specifically called for this product. It's invaluable, if you leave in my part of the world.
