Product Announcement: Evolution

I’m very excited to announce our newest product Evolution.

This new DVD is jammed full of pre-animated decorative design elements and so much more. These elements are over 720p HD at 60fps and ready for any production pipeline. Of course I’m also including several video tutorials and a long list of bonus features you can’t miss. Each element is meticulously crafted and animated with extensive detail and quality. We know how long these took to make and believe me it wasn’t easy

We have a release date set but what I can tell you is the product will be available in less than a month. I can’t answer any other questions at this time since the details are still being finalized, however the product page will be online soon.

Here is an image I just finished for the DVD content that uses only Evolution.

Cool!!! Kinda tell what some of them are going to be about looking at the box!

Cant wait looks good
October 13th, 2007 @ 1:53 am
I'm buyer, but can I combine those elements in 720p HD at 60fps with 1080iHD at 25fps footage? Just asking.
October 13th, 2007 @ 2:04 am
These elements are much higher than 720p. These elements will work flawlessly with virtually any standard frame rate. (23.976, 24p, 25p, 29.97, 30p, 50i, 60i etc)

These elements will also work with any resolution up to 2K (Higher than HD)

asd
October 13th, 2007 @ 5:19 am
wow, looks AMAZING!! so, vectors elements that are going to animated. i've always wanted to know how to animate flower-style vectors etc., like from start to finish. are there going to be any tutorials in the dvd like this?
Jacob Dyer
October 13th, 2007 @ 5:22 am
"These elements will also work with any resolution up to 2K (Higher than HD)"

Are they vector? Or just ridiculously high quality?
October 13th, 2007 @ 5:36 am
Most of the Elements are very high resolution QuickTime movies. This makes the elements highly compatible with many other video applications including After Effects.

At this time there isn't really a good vector format for animations that is widely compatible and renders properly. Although we experimented with several methods such SWF & EPS sequences etc; video files worked out to be the easiest and most productive.

The tutorials will mainly focus on design and compositing as well as some typography.

Good times are happening in the Future. I can't wait for the hours I will be spending playing with this set.
October 13th, 2007 @ 10:11 am
WOW! That was wierd. Just the othe day I was talking with my coworkers saying how much I dreaded creating things like this and how much it was not conducive to the fast production pipeline. If only someone would take the time to make these things like stock imagery. Next thing I know. POOF! My wish has been granted. Thank you so much.
October 13th, 2007 @ 10:29 am
Andrew- will you be including the original vector pictures you animated or possibly the after effects file with the masking done (similar to what go media does)?

YOU'RE A MACHINE ANDREW KRAMER! A MACHINE!

Anyways, I'm working on this kinda stuff (flourishes and stuff) myself (don't worry I will still be buying EvolutioN). Is it possible you could give some tips on creating this kinda stuff? Like do you draw it out on paper, scan it and drop it in Illustrator and... Then what? Do you animate them in flash like explained on Go Media's Blog? I'm just having a lot of trouble getting them to look good and professional. Mostly getting my lines to be parallel and smooth curves - the animation part is an easier fixed problem with a little practice and elbow grease.

Any help / tips you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Again, thanks for the awesome products and FREE tutorials!

Awesome Andrew! I can't wait. I don't care what it costs, you can certainly put me down for a copy of Evolution! I think I have your whole collection. Except for the clouds. I was wondering if you would do a tutorial of a car hitting a person on the street like you showed on your trailer of " here are some things you can do in After Effects "trailer. I got an idea how you do it but I sure would love to learn it straight from the Master himself! Thanks, Ed

October 15th, 2007 @ 3:54 am
I can definitley make use of this style of animation. It will pay for itself in the first five minutes if it contains a selection of animated arrows.

I'm also extremely pleased the animations are 2K as well as I tend to work solely in HDV resolutions.

All good. :)

only downer is I may put off a purchase for a while so I can combine postage (maybe) with the "50 Offline tutorials" DVD - unless they appear at the same time I suppose.
October 15th, 2007 @ 4:04 am
How abotu a tutorial on how you created the advert image for this product. The two boxes on the grey 'floor', extruded text and lovely subtle, perspective shadows. Possibly more Photoshop than AE but I'd love to be walked through it. but an AE version that can be rotated etc would be great.

of course, it may just be a real photo you used to get those lovely shadows.

Anyways, how about it?

I think that the U is darker because of the light in the scene behind and to the left... Notice the subtle shadow on the standing DVD... See the angle of the shadow and how it goes towards the U..
October 15th, 2007 @ 6:06 pm
It is just a render anomaly, lol
GreyMatter
October 15th, 2007 @ 11:11 pm
IT IS A 3D RENDER ANOMALY FOR SURE...

But not a simple AE 3D EFFECT
I have recreated this in MAYA AND 3DS MAX
And I will Not Post any Example, Because I'm not being payed for it..

NOW if Andrew wants to release a "FREE" tut on how this is done...well good for him.

:)
October 16th, 2007 @ 9:23 am
A render anomaly? :(

You could have thought of some way to make it interesting or mysterious, that would have really made the product stand out from the others.

I'll be getting this when it's on sale, keep goin Andrew....

October 19th, 2007 @ 6:50 am
I think goMedia has great products. The main differnce is that Evolution is tailored for Video Professionals. GoMedia has the art, but we've done all the animation and prep work so you can be the artist and craft custom animations faster and with more control.

Trust me, we've spend hundreds of hours animating and re-animating these elements. Some of our designs have well over 100 individually animated pieces that must be timed and "grow" in perfect sync. Just wait til you see the detail in each element.

Designing and approving the elements for the collection was the easier part; it was the last 3 months of meticulous animating that took the most of our time. And of course all of our elements are unique and custom designed from scratch.

We're just now finishing the promo that should be online soon.

Yes GoMedia has awesome products, but you would need to animate them in flash for
your project(s)... Now I ask you how Important is your time?
Is your time as Important as say... 45-55-65 or even 75 Bucks per hour or more?
Then Evolution is your answer to time and money :)

I'm sure any vector animation you could want will be included in Evolution, And if not... then make your own.
But I am not the first to say "I trust AK's Opinion and artistic talent" to bring us a quality product that will (or should) supply your needs.

Thanks AK

I have learned so much from you and everyone involved in your products.
