Hmmm, so would I be right in saying that you’re using some numerical values obtained from a waveform and applied to a null object whose xyz coordinates are mapped to the squiggly lines? If that’s the case then I’d be really interested in how you can extract the data from the waveform.

Do you still have plans for a new Product DVD this month?

This sounds sweet. I hope that it will adress some some of the issues that After Effects 5.5’s Motion Math, in which you could isolate both the Treble and the Bass to have each animate whatever needs to be animated.

I have not found anything with AE 7 that allows this.

i can finally admit that i’ve been anxiously awaiting the great AK 47! the answer to life, the universe, and everything was in tutorial 42. i know the next tut will be an invaluable weapon.

@whoever just posted the link to the MGS fan film- it looks gorgeous. excellent work with the sound design, the colors, and the VFX. looks VERY impressive. i’m looking forward to info on the final film.

Thats a good idea for a tutorial, and it only confirms, that we tend to think the same way, because I’m planning to do the same tutorial. The only difference is that this time I’ll be using Trapcode’s SoundKeys, since I’ve already covered some aspects of creating animation based on music in my previous tutorials.

And I have to say that I admire that you are taking care of your wife and Katie, doing all the things that you do to make a living, and you still find time to record those tutorials.

when i first saw this, i was impressed by the cool streaks. but now, I’m getting even more excited about the ability to use music to control my GFX and in some cases VFX. this sounds like defiant favorite and i i can’t wait to use this tutorial for some of my personal videos. thanks for the awesome show, im looking for to the tutorial as well as the twitch launch.

at the comedy store, you’ve got pretty good timing. Think about open
mic night! Just imagine, you could create some stuff using After Effects
project it on a screen, then do funny voice over! it would be killer! and you’d get standing O’s just for using mulitmedia (drunk people are easy to impress)! LOL you’ll never do it and I realize this, but hey thought I’d suggest anyway. thanks for everything

i like your “music to keyframes”tut. a while ago i tried to recreate the Justin clip by the methode you explained at the end. then trapcode echospace to fill the 3D space like a boiling blanket. never finished the project because my playtime was over. if i just waited for your tutorial. very nice clip, very usefull. thanx from holland

Hey Andrew great tutorial as always, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge!…hey about tutorial sugestions i support the idea from marcelo from brazil of making a tutorial about the bullet time effect of matrix, i know its really hard to shoot something like that cos i saw how they did it on matrix with lots of cameras recording at the same time… but i saw this tutorial on the internet

where the effects of bullet time is faked using just adobe premiere a panorama picture of the background and a free plugin to morph within adobe premiere called
WinMorph . the result is pretty cool… i ´m sure there´s must be some way of faking that effect in AE.

I like to ask a question, which is partially out of this topic: I wonder, if you can tell me, what font you use at your page header, as well as at image for this tutorial. hello, I have a question that I hope can respond to me: What computer and accessories use at the time of working? congratulations by their Web, are of the best ones!

In response to Chava Gallegos’ posting about logo usage. First of all, the Mexican Bus company logo is a direct rip-off from of the Texaco logo and second Andrew is in the USA and the logo is not trademarked in the country.

In fact the logo in question is not unique enough earn a trademark in most countries as there is volumes of prior art that proves this.
