is it possible to use this effect to creat a barrier around something? i'm trying to renact somthing from my favorite TV show and how the barrier's looks in the show is very similar

I don't have the Trapcode plugins. I rather use my money to purchase the videocopilot products. I was wondering if anyone knew how to use CC Particle World to get a similar effect? I am close but not close enough. Thanks!

hey awesome tutorial i have being delving around the text tutorials and with this i found that instead of the glow you used i used the lightsaber glow from your lightsaber v2 tutorial but its a bit too intense so i just turned the glow down a bit it makes a realy cool effect.

How do I add text to this design I can't find anywhere where it says how to add the text in the video???

You know, on the

}" Expression, you can just type
"S=thisComp.layer("Text").transform.position.speed;
if(S>370){29*S;}else{0;}"
Saves a lot of space.. =/

Anyways, Thanx for the tut, Andrew, I was thinking if there was an "If... else..." expression, Now I can keyframe things a lot lot easier :)

Another idea for this I had today is animate the particles based on the speed of a null object that is driven by music that were turned into keyframes

Hey AK, this is my first post but I have been watching you tutorials for a week now, I just finished watching ALL of them. Something cool you can do with this effect is have the particles come on as the camera moves. Depending on the speed of the camera as it flies around in a title sequence the particles can come on and leave a streak from where the camera was to where it is going...just a thought...

awesome tut. i followed it 100% but i get these red lines threw my screen and i cant turn into Avi without it the red lines being there. i cant figure out how to get ride of them and its very annoying. help!

I did the project and I also pre compose the text and now I can't change the text, HOw can I change the text after working with the other one. I don't want to go back and start all over again with other text is there a way I can just change the setting already saved on the pre compose text to the new one.

For those who don't know, Trapcode is a bunch of plug-ins for AE, you need to purchase it separately from trapcode.com

I think you should leave a note on the frontpage whether the tutorial requires Particular or not, so you're not halfway in when you realize you need to purchase a new plugin first!

and it seems like the AE CS4 doesn't have the trapcode effects... what can we do?
