I like your videos, don't get me wrong. But the problem is that you said "Decepticons" as the soul suckers in Harry Potter. They are actually called "Dementors". I just wanted to let you know.

I really love your tutorials BUT i'm pretty frustrated with this one. I'm using CS5 and I CANNOT find where the "Options-Rendering-Force Motionblur" is. I know it's somewhere in the program in a different area, just dont know where. I even tried doing what one of the previous comments on here suggested. I don't know what they where talking about.....where is this "Energy Layer" they speak of???Lol PLEASE HELP!!!

It sucks that you cant scrub through this video, every time I try it just restarts the video. Some one mentioned that downloading the tut would help but it doesn't for me because when I go to extract the zipped folder it tells me that the folder is invalid and will not let me go any further. Can anyone help with this problem?
Either way I will make it work because I love these tutorials, just finished the shatterize one and it turned out really cool, I can't wait to pair it with this energy wipe!

Man. I also have the CS5 like some guys down there, and everyting is diferent right on the beginning. The effect is just to small, dont look NOTHING like Andrew's one. When i use Lens, is vanish and there is NO OPTIONS.

Hey so in cs5 my cc particle effect background is white...makes it really hard to see the particles...anyone know how to change this?...Also cant find the options tab...how do i turn on motion blur??

an awsome pointer! if you use this method you can use it to create veins that grow on people by keyframing the velocity to 0 at the point you want and then motiontrack it to your actor! looks awsome and really grosse

Something is wrong with the player. I can skip to what ever part i want or go back to what ever part i want simply by clicking on it in that time line thing on the bottom of the video copilot player in any tutorial except for that one. Whenever I click any where on that time line thing the video just starts from the beginning.

For some reason when I try to jump to a certain part of the clip, the tutorial starts completely over so I have to watch it all over agian. Its really annoing haveing to watch an 18 minute clip 7 times in a row.

First of all, I salute you Mr. Kramer. Feels like I learned AE in just 1 day 
...which I did...
And to all who are STILL complainging about the force motion blur (inculding me for about 10 minutes until I actually looked -_-)
1. Turn on motion blur on your layers.
2. Create an Adjustment Layer (Layer>New>Adjustment Layer)
3. Put it over the layers you want.
5. Effect>Time>CC Motion Blur
4. PLAY WITH THE DAMN SAMPLING AND STOP COMPLAING.

Hello Andrew,
after I change the particle type to lens convex, it dissapeared.And in the beginning (default), the particle looks not so big like yours...it's only little bit particle in the midle.

Any chance of you making a tutorial on a Clark Kent Style Superspeed running effect where you see someone whooooshing!!! past people and then in the next few frames it becomes ultra slow motion (with waves surrounding the running man in slow motion) soo sort of like a freeze effect (which I have seen the tutorial of) but combining the superspeed and then a freeze mode where someone runs at slow motion whilst the surroundings are frozen.

To be honest: To me thats the best AE-Tutorial ever!
I never learned that much in a few minutes, great use of the difference Key, expressions, masking, blendmodes, bad presidents and technomusic A Perfect ten!
One thing.. Kramer said that the difference key works not perfect, and thats right. But if you have some grainy or bad shot footage to key, the difference key often allows waaay better solutions than the standard keyers. It juste helped my out 10 minutes ago...
