Ramiro from Argentina by Dan S. 08/11/2010 It doesn't work in CS5 because After Effects CS5 is a 64 bit application only so previous pluggins will not work, you will need 64 bit pluggins if they are available. by Cliff 08/08/2010 The plug-in dosn't work with cs5 by Joe 08/06/2010 If the box is 2 or 3x thicker then the one in the example the angle is way too harsh for the bottom reflection created from this plugin to look good -- even with the skew adjustments. I WILL BECOME THE BEST MOTION GRAPHIST IN MY COUNTRY CAMEROON. UR TUTS ARE WONDERFUL. KEEP ON HELPING US. THANKS by GiantSimon 12/20/2009 Just a quick note/fix that I ran into rendering a comp with the reflection plugin "Mirror 1.0.13" on the Mac. After some A/B testing to identify the culprit, I found setting anything above 0 on the Blur in the Reflect plugin - caused a render failure. The Easy fix - don't do that. The Better fix. Render Reflection only. Add a fast blur-type effect processed after the reflection geometry stuff is done. Then CC-Composite as shown in Andrew's tut above. Not a big deal - but figur'd I should share the trial/error results. I'm on Mac OX 10.6.2 with 8 GB RAM - and during this testing I tried with and without enabling the disk cache. Tested using a few decent sized RGB, PNG and PSD, files with alpha. Renders failed with 1500 x 1500 and 3K x 3K sizes...didn't test smaller sizes. Tested with the native AE renderer and Nucleo Pro...same. by W 12/20/2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKdi0x_O7Tc I used the plugin in this. Worked out well I think. Nice plugin. by Justin 12/04/2009 Andrew, you are a ninja master of After Effects. Thanks for sharing your art, it has helped me so much with my own work. :) by Vlado 12/04/2009 Thanks you for this great plugin. However, I have a small problem. When I apply vc reflect effect to a 3D text layer, when I rotate a camera, reflection behaves strangely, and transforms I guess the opposite it should. I only created camera, 3D text layer and applied VC reflect to it. Thanks :) Any tips? by Mikros 12/03/2009 Dam, you teach nice. by Franco 12/03/2009 Hey Andrew, great tutorial! However i have a few problems, well one actually, when I double click the plug-in, the after effect tells me: "After Effect Errors: Can't support file"VCRefelct.penguin", unsupported filetype or extension. ( 0 :: 1 ) " so.... yeah. by George G 12/03/2009 Hey there! really great work Andrew! all of your tutorials are freakin' awesome!! could you please make a tutorial for how to create a portal? by patrick 12/03/2009 hello am rickie like all your podcasts have got me doin gret stuff thanx by bojig (bali) 12/02/2009 thanks Andrew...... by ivan 12/02/2009 nice one sir andrew by Dan Potter 12/02/2009 Great stuff Andrew. Looking forward to your Lens Flare Plugins too! The Action Essentials and Pro Scores are going down a treat. Excellent... by Fernando Paris 12/01/2009 Man, this is sooooo good, it should be prohibited. Thanks a lot. by Matthew Grunau 11/30/2009 Hey Andrew, and all you wacky cats at VCP: I watched about 5 mins of the tutorial when it struck me how useful this will be in creating accurate shadows. With the blur and falloff options especially, better and more realistic shadowing should be available in 3D space, even better if you can link the rotational values to your light source. Is there any way to associate a custom layer for distortion of the reflected layer, ie, displacement mapping and bump mapping? Great work fellas. Currently showing 100 of 285 Comments.
