I have been very inspired by your tutorials, and I am getting ready to film a short action scene to test out what I am learning. I was wondering how you would go about making ejected shell casings? Would 2D shell images work? I do not have the Action Essentials pack (yet) so I do not know if there are clips of ejecting shells filmed on black. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated from anyone.

I am very excited to apply what I have learned from this tutorial to closed bolt "guns", etc.

Great tutorial!
But the muzzle flash is too small, in real life (and the movies) A muzzle flash is pretty big, and it will probably cast a light on the actor and suroundings close to the gun.

Hi all

this is a great tutorial but I got one problem: why does my muzzle flash disappear after I render my vid in sony vegas? I rendered it in AE and it was still there but when I edit (adding sound) it with sony vegas the muzzle flash disappears.
Has it something do to with the length of it because its only there for a fraction of a sec.

Hey Andrew.. great tutorial! Im stuck on the bit where you drag the 9mm_01.mov into the clip. I drag it in and its really big and transparent. I can hear that u press a button on the keyboard and it does something to make it appear.. what button was that? anyone know? thanks.

Hi Andrew, great stuff over here, u are really talented.
Ok i got a quastion. Can u please tell me how can i make ejecting shell from gun?
I have video of rotating shell that can be placed in footage.
But the problem is that shell is rotating in one place and i want it of course to go down like in real.
Any suggestions please?

Question, can you do a tutorial on how to do a basic shell casing coming out of the side of the gun. That way if we're using say a rifle with auto ejection we can use the technique from this tutorial to slide back the loader, and then you could teach us the shell casings.
